The Hayabusa boasts of vertically stacked twin headlights that provide increased light intensity and improved light distribution to match the flow of the Hayabusa styling. The advanced aerodynamics offer wind protection both for normal and completely tucked-in seating positions. The motorcycle features a new ABS system and Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers. The instrument cluster gets four analog meters for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and water temperature with an S-DMS mode indicator, gear position indicator and an adjustable engine-rpm indicator.

The unique Suzuki Drive Mode Selector ( S-DMS) system allows the rider to select one of three engine control maps to suit personal preferences in various riding conditions. For instance, the rider can choose a map for highway cruising and another map for tighter roads.

The Suzuki Hayabusa ( or GSX1300R) is asport bike motorcycle made by Suzuki since 1999. It immediately won acclaim as the world's fastest production motorcycle, with a top speed of 188 to 194 miles per hour ( 303 to 312 km/h) .

In 2000, fears of a European regulatory backlash or import ban, [6][7][8] led to an informal agreement between the Japanese and European manufacturers to govern the top speed of their motorcycles at an arbitrary limit.[9] The media-reported value for the speed agreement in miles per hour was consistently 186 mph, while in kilometers per hour it varied from 299 to 303 km/h, which is typical given unit conversion rounding errors. This figure may also be affected by a number of external factors, [10] as can the power and torque values.[11]

The conditions under which this limitation was adopted led to the 1999[2][3] Hayabusa's title remaining, at least technically, unassailable, since no subsequent model could go faster without being tampered with.[12] Thus, after the much anticipated[13][14][15] Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12Rof 2000 fell 4 mph ( 6 km/h) short of claiming the title, the Hayabusa secured its place as the fastest standard production bike of the 20th century.[16][17][18] This gives the unrestricted 1999[2][3] models even more cachet with collectors.[19]

Besides its speed, the Hayabusa has been lauded by many reviewers for its all-round performance, in that it does not drastically compromise other qualities like handling, comfort, reliability, noise, fuel economy or price in pursuit of a single function.[5][20][21]Jay Koblenz of Motorcycle Consumer Newscommented, If you think the ability of a motorcycle to approach 190 mph or reach the quarter-mile in under 10 seconds is at best frivolous and at worst offensive, this still remains a motorcycle worthy of just consideration. The Hayabusa is Speed in all its glory. But Speed is not all the Hayabusa is.[20]

Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 is awesome.
Jul 22, 2016 05:36 PM 7668 Views

For many years, the other three Japanese manufacturers left Kawasaki alone as producer of the world's fastest motorcycle. Then, a decade ago, Honda fronted up against the 170mph ZZ-R1100 with the similar capacity Blackbird, although top speed honours were even. Suzuki, meanwhile, had been watching from the wings, and two years later unleashed the Hayabusa: 1, 300cc of torque- and power-packed motor slotted into bodywork styled, it seemed, by Gothic aerodynamicists. The top speed mantle was wrested from the opposition with figures close to 190mph being whispered(it was not exactly politically correct) and, just as importantly, the bike's tyre-shredding power at lower speeds set it apart from its rivals. It was a beast, the first bike I rode that would hoist its front wheel and spin the rear tyre simultaneously at a mere twist of the throttle.

In the US it became a cult, a basis for insane modifications that included turbochargers, wild paint jobs and extended wheelbases. And, along with its performance, its odd, organic look distinguished the Hayabusa from lesser creations. So defined yet so restricted: the new 2008 Hayabusa is such a close visual derivative of the machine it supercedes you'd be hard pushed at a casual glance to tell new from old - Suzuki cannot afford to alienate those'busa buying Americans, and it shows. Side by side the difference becomes clearer, but the new model is no less weird, or ugly, or characterful, for that. It's not beautiful, although the swoops and curves, bulges and scoops do make it interesting. I couldn't help being reminded, though, by the all-black drooping rear end, of a Jowett Javelin - surely not the intention… The all-new bike has an engine capacity increase to 1, 340cc, a major power rise to 194bhp and torque up to a massive 114lb ft. The chassis is revised, the suspension renewed, the swing-arm is significantly stiffer and it meets the latest Euro 3 emissions regulations, which, thanks to the big catalytic converter, are probably responsible for the 7lb weight gain.

All of which is forgotten when you turn the twist grip. This bike is fast. So fast that, like the B-King tested in Motoring two weeks ago, Suzuki preferred us to ride the 2008 Hayabusa only on a race track, even though it is designed primarily for the road. The circuit chosen was the fast and scary Salzburgring in Austria, so fast and so scary, in fact, that it was dropped from the grand prix calendar many years ago due to safety concerns. Many years ago, I thought grimly as I rode out of the pit lane, when grand prix bikes were not as quick as the Hayabusa is now… Ah, but this is a modern road bike and, as such, it's as easy and friendly as a motorcycle can be. For all that ferocious acceleration, it only goes mad when you ask it to, and without losing its composure. In first gear, the bike hurtles forward faster than even its stablemate, the GSX-R1000, simply because its extra length helps keep the front wheel somewhere closer to Planet Earth. Snick the'box into second, hook it into third, then fourth - only by fifth does the massive kick in your backside start to dilute. By this point, you'd be sparrows out of the hedgerows as the speedo needle swings past 170mph. It's creamy smooth and utterly effortless, although unusually for a Suzuki, the gear lever sometimes baulked at upward changes. When it comes to sheer thrust, this bike's the daddy, but it's lost some of the original's raw, hysterical wildness, thanks to a softer power delivery.

Like the B-King and GSX-R1000, the Hayabusa features variable power outputs, attained by pushing a button on the bars: few riders will bother, as these make it feel strangled, but how much better if, instead of adjusting the power, they altered the power delivery: hard and edgy as standard, soft and easy for wet weather and maybe an economy mode when you're not sure where the next garage might be. Technically, it's certainly achievable.

Where the Hayabusa also impresses is in its handling. While the basic geometry is the same as the old model, the new is more eager to change direction and holds its line tightly, rather than pushing the front out wide. The suspension does struggle to control the plot when banked over with the throttle wide, especially when a few bumps interfere. Then a gentle weave sets in - worrying when your curling line takes you to within a couple of yards of an Armco barrier. This occurs only under extreme conditions, though, as does the occasional brake fade(repeated stops from 160mph to 40mph at the end of the main straight). When on the road, the impressive precision and dependability of the stoppers and other cycle parts will be evident, along with the easy, neutral steering and remarkably plush ride. You lose some suspension feedback, but for a high-speed mile-eater, the set-up is well suited.

Where the Hayabusa is usefully improved is in rider wind protection. The old model's screen was far too low, leaving you out in a windblast, but this one is much better. Some might find the footrests a little high and far back.

The finish appears good, although the graphics stickers on the fairing and tailpiece are not lacquered over(they are on the tank), and an oversight is the headlight adjustment. This demands a screwdriver from the toolkit, already not acceptable, which then has to be pushed up beneath the lights into near-invisible keyed bolts, difficult even in daylight. In fact, it's impossible, as there's a plastic panel in the way - Suzuki GB says it will suggest to dealers that holes are cut in this to allow screwdriver access, but a simple plastic knurled wheel would have been much easier.

Fuel consumption checks would have been pointless on this test, but big Suzukis are usually good(our long-term GSX-R1000 returns 48mpg in everyday riding) and, at 4.6 gallons, the tank is a decent size - you might even get 200 miles out of a refill if you aren't too self indulgent with the throttle.

For all its barking mad performance, the Hayabusa is a workable everyday machine, easy to ride and comfortable. It's lost its wild edge, but it won't disappoint when you let it out to play; this really is a fabulous motorcycle. It might just depend on what you make of those Batmobile looks - you could get used to it, but there are prettier bikes to park outside your house.

More than a decade ago, Suzuki developed a machine so unique that it instantly attracted a devoted following around the world. Like its namesake, the Japanese peregrine falcon, Hayabusa is famed for cutting through the air with incredible agility and performance.

It combines massive thrust, unmatched maneuverability, and a silky smooth ride on city streets or the open road. Beneath its windswept design beats the legendary Suzuki Hayabusa engine. The resonating feel of pure power evokes an attitude of bold authority from both machine and rider.

Through countless engineering refinements of the original design, the Hayabusa spirit has endured. Its incomparable performance delivers a fun and sporty ride at any speed, setting the bar high for rivals and defining the "Ultimate Sport Bike." The radically original yet timeless styling also reflects the spirit of the person who owns a Hayabusa.

At the turn of the 20th century Suzuki surprised the world by introducing the Hayabusa. Over the last decade, the motorcycle has evolved while staying true to its concept-the pinnacle of high-performance motorcycles. Its sensational power, speed, smooth ride and overwhelming presence continue to fascinate owners and onlookers alike.

The addition of a new ABS and Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers takes the Hayabusa and rider to new heights. We invite you to become an owner of the Hayabusa key, and feel the beat of Hayabusa as you fly through the streets. Join us and become a proud owner. May your heart beat in unison to the Hayabusa. Because the Hayabusa is, and always will be, the ultimate sport bike.

It is available in three colors: Candy Daring Red /Metallic Mystic Silver(A9Z), Pearl Bracing White / Metallic Mystic Silver(ARA), Metallic Thunder Gray / Glass Sparkle Black(AA3)

Features

Selectable Engine Mapping – Suzuki Drive Mode Selector: The Hayabusa features the unique Suzuki Drive Mode Selector(S-DMS) system, which allows the rider to select one of three engine control maps. The system allows the rider to select a different map to suit personal preferences in various riding conditions, such as choosing one map for highway cruising and another map for tighter roads.

Forged Pistons and PVD-Coated Rings: Forged three-ring aluminum-alloy slipper pistons provide superior strength. The oil control ring on each piston is electro-plated with a chrome-nitride coating applied in a vacuum chamber using a Physical Vapor Deposition(PVD) system. The chrome nitride PVD coating is harder and smoother than conventional chrome plating, reducing friction while improving cylinder sealing. The upper piston ring also features an L-shaped cross section, with combustion pressure pushing the ring tighter against the cylinder wall to further reduce blowby and increase the force actually pushing the piston down.

Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve: The Hayabusa engine is fitted with tapered, 44mm double-barrel Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve(SDTV) throt tle bodies. Unlike conventional fuel-injection systems, the SDTV system has two butterfly valves in each throttle body barrel. The rider controls the primary valve via a throttle grip, and the engine management system automatically controls the secondary valve, opening it incrementally to maintain optimum intake charge velocity based on engine rpm, gear position and primary valve opening. This precise, carefully controlled system improves combustion efficiency and makes throttle response feel more natural to the rider.

Brembo Monobloc Front Brake Calipers: Lighter and more rigid than conventional bolt-together calipers, the Hayabusa's top-of-the-line radial-mount Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers deliver better feedback to the rider. The piston diameters were enlarged from 32-30mm to 32-32mm. Larger pistons help apply greater force to the brake disc, which results in increased initial bite and a more controlled feeling.

Lightweight, High-Performance ABS: A new, standard equipment Antilock Brake System(ABS) unit features a lightweight, compact design. The ABS enhances brake performance by helping prevent, to a certain extent, wheel locking due to changes in road conditions or excessive braking, by matching stopping power to available traction. Note: The ABS is a supplemental device for brake operation, not a device for shortening stopping distance. Always remember to reduce speed sufficiently before approaching curves.

Inverted cartridge front forks: KYB inverted cartridge forks feature a Diamond-Like Carbon(DLC)coating surface treatment on the 43mm stanchion tubes to reduce friction and increase reaction to small surface irregularities. The forks provide front wheel travel of 120mm. Spring preload, compression damping and rebound damping are fully adjustable.

Suzuki Hayabusa 1300.

Suzuki Hayabusa is a dream of many boys no doubt. I don't have this bike but I am writing this review on the behalf of my ride I took on my friends bike. When I first sat on the bike, I got so excited and it just raise my soul. The riding experience was awesome. The bike is a peak of everything the power, comfort and smooth sound. Apart from that, What I feel uncool in the bike is its seat which is sufficient only for one rider, its weight and bulky design. Or I can say, its a wastage of money. As no one wants to roam lonely on roads.

At one time you really want to have ride with your loved ones. Well, Its my personal view about the bike, I hope its helpful for viewers.
