Mahindra Rodeo RZ

I bought mahindra rodeo around 1.3 years back, unfortunately after 6 months, bike has started giving trouble.. mainly the starting trouble, if you dont use it for 2-3 days, it want start with button, kick start is required. I got the battery charged twice but no luck, problem still persists.

Low Wheelbase is one more issue and finally poor milage - 20-25kmpl only which sucks...

Also I would not recommend this for females or housewife since this button start is not always working as expected..

I have been using this for nearly a year now and I can vouch for most members who state that the mileage is poor. I get around 32kmpl vs. claimed 55kmpl. However, it was not(and is not) the biggest decision maker for me.

Braking: Works well. Have to be careful during rains. I've had to get this worked on with every service.

Build quality: Above average. Is sturdy and gives you that feel.

Looks: Great. Better than most in class.

Features: I especially love the front-fuelling & good boot space. My 15" laptop fits snugly! I also love the electronic display. Big selling point for me.

Mileage: Very poor. With leaded fuel(speed / power) it gives around 32kmpl.

Reliability: In the last one year, I've only had a problem with starting twice. Having said that, my battery died just recently and had to get it replaced.

Service center: Not very efficient. They dont really do the checks they are supposed to.

Ride comfort: It is alright. The poor ground clearance means I have to be careful when going over bumpy roads. The handle grip could be better spaced from the seat for more comfort.

Engine: Best part of the vehicle. Quick and responsive. I can get upto 80kmph without the effort like in an Activa. Is really zippy.

My verdict: It is an honest attempt by Mahindra to get marketshare, but is it leaves a lot to be desired in mileage and after sales service. Mahindra has to pick the right partners to sell & service the product to gain trust of customers. The features it already has(larger boot, zippy engine, electronic display) make for a premium scooter in the market. Hopefully, Mahindra will make efforts to improve it further.

Dear friends.I call my decision a worst, when I decided to buy this scooter.since day one it has been troubling.for pickup and millage .I was luck for the period of few months( when I got a max of 35 Km/liter) or the average has been 24 - 26 Km / liter .then why should they claim it to give above 45 Km / liter( even upto 50, to make me to purchase?)

This is not the end.at last( as even after service, I got a millage of 26, when they had paid attention to millage problem?),  I sent an email to the company giving complete details .and what a great response, next day I got reply and also call from local authorized dealer .to bring scooter for re-setting( with assurance to set all my problems).but.the even the result remained the same.( a little change upto 34 Km/ liter).

I resent mail to company  with all these details.No Reply .And then reminder again, asking if this was the limit of Mahindra scooter .Still, NO reply.

So, I request all of you, to not to trust.Mahindra.They are Sick.

I purchased Rodeo as a gift to my loving wife on her birthday but since then rodeo is creating continuous tension such an extent that we began to fight sometimes.

1-starting failure

2-acid formation at battery terminal and connection failure every 3 to 5 days

3-mileage not more than 25 kmpl

4-fibre body 100% more prone to damage

5- nuts and srew loosens every now and then

6- almost no service.roadside mechanic is better than their service centrer

7-no resale value.3 month rodeo buyed for 49000 is giving not more than 28000

8- zero satisfaction of pleasure of buying a new product

9-lastly free tension from mahindra for lifetime

This is the worst bike ever I have seen, got Mahindra Rodeo SYM in feb since now I have gone for servicing for 4 time and every time ther will be new issue with nike. the product material is worst please I request you all to not to buy this bile rather boy toy bike atleast you  will not be wst ur money on something useless. mahindra guys and there services centers specially PB motors in Pune is worst things ever I have experienced. first some days you will fell like in sky in always in hell.

I am gona buy other bike as I cant invest my money in it every month.

My name is meerasudhakar from trichy-tamilnadu.

It was worst experience to buy mahindra rodeo. its cost around 53000, bike riding is super, looks super, digital meter. Big problem is starting trouble. Please don't thinking about rodeo scooter. It is power scooter when it was riding, battery is a big problem. we can't put ideally at least 2 days this  scooter .After 3rd day I will not start by using self or kick. I bought this scooter in trichy. Trichy dealership is too bad. Service centre persons didn't take any responsibility. I bought this bike on Nov 2010.

Battery is dried. What is this? dealer didn't accept warranty period, they didn't replace that battery, we sent a complaint to mahindra company but no response. Plz people don't interact with style, digital meter and any other outlooks. Plz go through all reviews and decide.

TVS is evergreen.

This is really a good product from mahindra. I just bought it and got a better performance than activa. Fuel economy gets about 42 kmpl after servicing. powerfull pickup with good accelaration makes it a good scooter mainly ones who like a bit racing and powerfull performance.

It has all latest features like digital speedo (which is simply flawless with its multi lighting), mobile charger, front fueling, big boot, auto light inside bood and side stand indicator.

But its self start may cause some trouble but not serious.

Over all a good and powerfull bike with 125 cc 8 bhp engine.

GO FOR IT.

It is first time I had ever bought a scooter, and a product from Mahindra. Believing that a product from Mahindra would be of good quality, I had spent Rs: 52000 to Mahindra Rodeo. Just after 4 months from the date of purchase, I had experienced a drastic low mileage. It was consuming 1 litre of petrol for 22 kms. I had complained about this many times to the dealers but they were helpless.

Another bad thing to experience is its kick start, I usually kick around 20-30 times on a daily basis to start the vehicle. Although it had got an autostart, it is useless if you do not happen to use it for a day/night.

This kickstart had pulled every hair from my leg. When I inquired with the dealer, they said that it has to be kick started every morning.

This was not told.

Mahindra rodeo gives most smooth ride on bumpy Indian roads.

Picks up a speed of 40 in hardly two seconds. Better looks than honda activa & Suzuki Access. Body made of fibre which is not prone to dents.

Cheaper than other scooters . excellent ground clearance. Excellent design and stylish.

Honda activa or suzuki -old techanology khatarra scooter hain donon hi in comparison to rodeo.

My experiance about Mahindra Rodeo:

I am more exited to have my own Mahindra Rodeo.The adds and availability made me to buy Rodeo.

Pros: 1. Pick up

3. Availability - Less weighting time compared to honda activa, suziki.

   
   

I like long drive with 50-70 speed. I enjoyed it well.

Cons: 1. Milage [20-30 per kilometer]

1. Service - No propoer autorised service centers available. Skilled workers are not available.

   
   




2. Spare parts - Not available in many serive centers

   
   




3. Less Quality of Spares.

   
   




4. Quality Dealers are not selected by Company.

   
   

Final comment: Please dont buy Rodeo, go for Honda Activa or Suziki Access 125 . Even though more waiting time to get vehible in hand, but worth to wait for long run your vehicle.

Dont buy a mahindra two wheeler scooter.at the time of buying they are telling it will give mileage of 45 kmpl, but actual mileage it is giving 25-28 kmpl.is it possible to maintain a scooter with low mileage.

At the same time my friends are using access.it is giving mileage of 50 kmpl, as well as every scooter is giving good  mileage except MAHINDRA VEHICLES.I am suffering with that problem .so, my dear friends those who see this web site dont go for mahindra two wheeler.

I had a very bad experience by purchasing Mahindra Rodeo and I have ever seen such a poor fuel consumption vehicle anywhere, Customer Service is very poor, Service Engineers dont know to resolve the issues of the customers.

I inquired almost all the ppl who have rodeo in my area almost 95% of the ppl have the same fuel consumption prob with rodeo, the remaining 5% ppl are lucky..

Totally it was a very bad experience, I request you to buy any other bike/scooter other than rodeo because I dont want you to face problem or bad experience like me........

Better to invest your money in good bike and be peaceful & happy..........

Took a test drive of rodeo. liked the ride quality and I must say I found no problem with its ground clearence as being reported by some people. had rodeo to hit all possible bumps from small to largest (as I could find) at different speeds and rodeo never touched any of them! the shocks did their job just brilliantly.

The ride comfort is good though found the bike a little light on handle which didnt give me that extra confidence to cruise at higher speed but then I dont see it as an issue particularly for ladies. breakes could have been better but do their job whenever one needs them.. overall a nice bike from mahindra loaded with innovative features.

Don't go  for Mahindra Rodeo....It's battery and mileage service are worst. Last 4 months I am suffering with this.. Same problem still remain. I Have been fed up with Mahindra service. Every servicing time it said by dealer that now it would be ok..but no improvement in battery service ... and mileage.... so never go for Rodeo...... I will suggest Honda Scooty is the best now a days...My friend using last 2 year without any complain...

Mansi Motors on 100 Ft Ring Road in Banashankari 3rd Stage is a dealer. The behavior of the staff is discourteous and irritable.. We bought a Rodeo last August and till date we have not received the smart card pertaining to the registration of the vehicle..

All the way until Feb and March, they kept promising services for the same and later decided to arrogantly mention that it is not their responsibility.. We were asked to go to RTO directly..

Thanks to Mansi Motors, we still dont have the registration documents for the vehicle bought last August.

Hi.I bought a Rodeo on May 2010.

The handling is very good.The vehicle is very smooth.The digital speedo looks great and also works well.Front fueling system is awesome.we don't need to get off the bike and open the seat in petrol bunks to fill the tank.we can just go like a bike.

MILEAGE:

It gave me mileage of about 28 KMPL when I bought the bike.After first service mileage remained the same.Every service we are complaining about the mileage.Now it completed 5 services, even then the mileage remains the same(28 - 30 Kmpl)

GROUND CLEARANCE:

I am 5.6 foot tall and I am 66 Kg.In all the speed breakers the chase hits the speed breaker.Ground clearance is very bad.With pillion it hits the speed breakers heavily.

Two times the petrol leaked from the tank.I lost 6 to 7 litres of petrol.the tank turned empty.i had to push the vehicle to go to my home.

After sales servicing is very worst.

I bought this hell on may 2010..i am totally upset with this product of mahindra. the look is ok and the features are good but  the mileage is so poor and there is no one to listen to you.very bad customer service.

I was told that it will give you surely the mileage of 40kmpl.but this gives me just the average around 18-24kmpl.when I complaint about this they just screw inside it and say now it will give you 35kmpl..but still the the story repeats....

I have already made this mistake....but I advice you to never even think of buying this..

I like this rodeo very much I didn't notice the above problems because I have been using  rodeo from one year after first service no problem has been arised!

I got rodeo from S.P Motors  , with reasonable price with bettr servicing facilities they ill provide all spare parts if required , mileage ill increase after first servicing

Rodeo will be comfortable for women's because of front filling less weight
