Uncomfortable bike
Jan 25, 2017 11:42 PM 4545 Views (via Android App)

LML Graptor is Very small bike and its not for all.its seat is also very short.very difficult to adjust two healthy person in this bike.in simple word its very uncomfortable bike.very difficult to control and need much maintainence.looks is also not attractive.mileage is also very poor.company's over design makes it worst.in such type of bike such designs are not suitable.its main problem is its back silencer.after two years its become very noisy.it has lack of featers thats why its not successfull in market.

Not successful bike
Sep 19, 2016 09:54 PM 6711 Views (via Android App)

LML has faced difficulties in pushing its models in the Indian market and most of the products of this Indian manufacturer has failed to catch customers’ attention. Starting the list is LML Graptor, which despite having a decent style quotient was unable to maintain a firm position in the market. The bike was available with the 150.8cc engine which delivered maximum power output of 13.5 hp and peak torque of 12.8Nm. The tough competition from LML Fiero and Bajaj Pulsar 150 created a hindrance in the sales of Graptor and hence the company discontinued it.

Graptor (Amazing Exp of 10 Years and Still Ongoing
Aug 07, 2013 07:28 PM 6021 Views

I am glad to apprise you that my amazing experience with my lovely bike Graptor is now of more than 10 years. During this period I had few ups and downs also. I just want to express my feedback for this bike.

  1. Graptor is solid and very safe to drive.

  2. Even today Side stand lock doesn't come in any of the bike in market.

  3. Process of Opening seat is very good.

  4. EST frame makes this bike super strong (From day one I am driving this bike on the speed breakers at the speed of 50 to 60 KMPH even then bike is in good condition). EST frame can be made a little lighter so that the pick-up of the bike can be increased.

  5. Positions of buttons & switch are impeccable.

Graptor "THE BEST OF THE BEST"
Sep 16, 2006 03:53 PM 8277 Views

hello friends,

I purchased a graptor 2 years back. it is a very good bike. it is smooth, reliable, fuel efficient (60 km / liter in town, I use 91 octane petrol), looks are absolutely great.

maintenance cost is also very low as compared to others. it is provided with a sporty chasis (diamond chasis) which no ther bike has (except beamer).

to me pulsar both 180cc and 150cc makes a sissy type noise though look like macho.

karishma has a very good pick up but compared to its price posses a clumsy look rather tan a sporty look. more over the bike sounds as if something has gone loose in the silencer.

recently I had a race with a pulsar and I was suprised to see that though the pulsar was having a qucker start (pick up) than graptor it was falling far behind is long distant races.

If possible you can test my words by doing the same your self. and I am sure the result will be the same.

it is the rider upon which is ride depends but i still say that everyone if possible should ride this bike atleast once to find out what it is.

Worst bike ever ... don't waste your money
Oct 25, 2005 12:21 PM 9541 Views

Hi Guys ! This is Sharad from pune. When I bought LML Graptor I was excited but soon the excitement was gone, as it gave many problems.

1.] Oil leakage if you continously drive at high speed.

2.] Handle too wide seems like driving an enfield.

3.] Problem with gear shifting, its too difficult to bring the bike to neutral.

4.] Does not cross the 100 km/ph which is the company says is 114 km/ph.

5.] A very awsome look when u see it from back and front.

6.] Mirror is very difficult to adjust.

7.] Foot race is too long for a short person. And it very difficult to apply the

brakes.

8.] Very very .............very poor service by the dealer.

9.] There is a hissing noise that comes out, which I was told by the service engineer was because of the poor engine design.

10] Less number of service stations as compared to other bajaj, TVs, Honda.........so have to spend petrol of almost 50 rs to reach service station.

11] And its the history which proves that LML is producing s**t and fooling the young guys.

I request you to please opt for pulsar with mac wheel rather than this stupid bulky engine.

Extra information On BEAMER

ChintaN: you see friend , it all depends on how you mantain the bike RIGHT FROM THE ''BEGINING'',and how well you shift the gears, when, where and at what time(rpm).. for me when I was riding my old scooter I always mantain a speed of 30-35kmph(highway, at the extreme left side) and used to enjoy it single handed riding, not to get surprise I used to get 55kmpl,..i had to buy the bike becoz it was to hard to withstand backbone pain you get in the scooters as well as suspension is hard..now for me riding the bike is like heaven..40-45kmph is sure enough for me.. but you also have the ''14.1bhp of POWER'' under your tap which really encourages you and gives you pride..I use it only in required times..Well , I also analyzed the engine very well,FOR MILEAGE I do the following things.IN CITY:-shift the gears exactly at 3000rpm, *shift gears only if you see the road is clear for about 150-230meters and no blocking things (HUMP, CRATER, TRAFFIC,Someone IS crossing or Something is parked in front)go slowly until the road is smooth and clear enoughdon't uneccesiarly change gears and keep clucthalways fill the best fuel(SHELL Super Unleaded) and use Best lubricants(SHELL Advance-S)check the tyre pressure as recommended by the manfuacter, for every 50-60km(i do for 50km)always fill above 10ltrsIN HIGHWAY:-* almost same as above ..*shift gears At recommended level,1st--0-15kmph(3700rpm)2nd--15-25kmph(3600rpm)3rd--25-30kmph(3500rpm)4th--3
0--40kmph(3500rpm5th---40-50kmph(3500rpm) and come back ,to maintain 40-45/43kmph in 5th gear and cruise smoothly, change gear only when the 5th gear is not holding(knocking sound comes), LUCKILY Beamer goes down to 20kmph in 5th gear (Single rider) , this is where torque helps you in MILEAGE..AND you mantain this from the beginning, I promise you will surely get very good mileage, I have specified the exact mileage I am getting.Remember friend any vehicle can give good mileage only if you know to get it..As far as LML goes..they give very good concentration to each and every single spec.. To tell You Frankly,.. I am the guy who buys a bike for ONCE, atleast lasting for 10-12years.. And mainting it is my first job. ONe more friends , those who have Beamer s reply to me.. I have designed a graph after a long analysis which by using we can get fastest acceration to destinated speed levels(X-axis No.of gears; Y-axis Speed, and rpm)iI have also have a few number modfications which you can fit to get good milage, Super Power and super styling.Hope you enjoyed my advice....MADAN

Today :- 14 JUNE 2009

Hello there,

LML Beamer Owners, Here is the list of alternate spares which are compatible for Beamer,

1) Kick Starter ----> TVS Victor

2)Disc Calliper / Brake Set ---------> Tvs Apache RTR 150cc

3)Carburettor -------> Honda Unicorn 150.

4) Oil sump Bolt( the bolt beneath the engine, which is used to drain the oil) ---->Hero Honda CD100.

5)Accelerator cable.

LML Beamer has unique Accelerator cable , which splits into two beneath the tank, onw goes for carburettor and the other goes for Throttle Sensor Unit (T.S.U).

If the Cable is broken, You may have to go for Honda unicorn 's carburettor having an throttle sensor attached to the carburettor itself.

Use normal single throttle cable, attach to the carb, where as the 3 pin from the T.S.U connect it to the sensor attached to the carb. if it is 2 pin then ...take the middle pin as the ground.

6) Drum brake pads and Disc Brake Pads are available in Plenty.

I have done 50250kms in this bike, not a single problem.

I didn't have any of these problems...collected information from Professional Grarage guys.

One more thing LML released two versions of Beamer in 2004-2005.

1)LML Beamer Version 1:-

Mikuni BS CV 26 Carburettor(Main jet :- 110)

Power:- 14.2bhp @ 8000rpm

Torque :- 13NM @ 5000rpm

Top Speed:- 123kmph

Mileage:- 40 kmpl

2) LML Beamer Version 2:-

Kehikin Carburettor (Main Jet :-105)

Power :- 12bhp @8000rpm

Torque:- 12.2NM @5500rpm

Top speed:- 110 kmph

Mileage :- 57kmpl

version 2 was released in response to the low mileage complaints.

I have Version2, ..and have recently changed to Honda Unicorn's carburettor ( 2nd hand Rs:-1300), because the older one was damaged by the garage people while rejetting, and main jets(spare parts) were not available in the market.

Hope the information was Useful..., any comments will be answered

Only looks but no fun

HI ! friends!

Even I was confused as to which bike to buy. then I saw the graptor which certainly grabbed my attention because of it's trendy and stylish looks. This made me to go for it.But compared to the same segment the other bike are generally pulsating.

The graptor is a dead starter. It has no pick up what so ever , even an 100cc bike can race ahead. It you go above 60 kmph speed then it will gulp down petrol like anything.

The LML Company does nto even bother to look for it's after sales service

As The comapny says it has transformed that's totally shit. The after sales service are pathethic. The service dealers are altogether not better then the street mechanics.they rob, steal and even u end up paying what LML does not deserve.

So if thinking of buying LML Better watch out.BAJAJ, HERO HONDA And TVS will strike u the better deal.

If your bike needs spare parts then forget it.The dealer will take more than 2 months to procure it for you.

You vs You(Beamer)
Jul 31, 2005 11:27 AM 8591 Views

I got this chance to ride a LML Beamer for a couple of days from a friend of mine, and the title of the topic says it all for me. Now, I know it reads very philosophical and you might be thinking my rockers have gone loose, but let me assure you that if you ride the Beamer for a couple of days, it will beg you for biking introspection. After the almost back to back launches of the new Honda Unicorn and the refreshed Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi, LML had to come up with something better than the Graptor. Holding nothing against the Graptor, its claimed bhp and torque never caught the fantasy of Indian buyers and LML were left with no option but to unveil the Beamer. Now enough of this “beating around the bush”, let me share my experiences with you all after getting Beamed(all pun intended )

Styling:-

All the 150cc bikes in the market right now sport a plastic fairing upfront, ooh except the FX variant of the Fiero from TVS. The Beamer brings about a nice and refreshing change from all that grey plastic. LML went back to the tried and tested round headlamp and chrome plated twin instrument pod. The tank is beautifully scalpted, looks the same one from the Graptor. The side panels also add to the looks of the bike because they donot sport those flasy graphics from the Graptor. The upside down fuel gauge is also unique in the otherwise normal twin instrument pod, featuring the speedo and the tacho. Though the nice blue backlight of the instrument panel in the Graptor has made way for normal lights. From the rear, what I felt was that the bike is thin, err…what I should say is that it kind of lacks mass. If you see the Beamers competition, then you would realize how the rear half of Pulsars and Unicorns are integrated with the rest of the bike. One thing I must say that the paint job is really nice though, the one I was riding was not extra-polished or waxed.

Engine & Gears:-

In the heart of the Beamer is a 150cc powerplant which develops 14bhp@8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 13Nm@5500 rpm. These figures makes it the most powerful and torquey bike in the 150cc category. The torque really shows when you breeze to 80+kmph from 30kmph in 5th gear very easily. The gearbox is a standard 1 down 4 up, and believe me it’s one of the best in 150cc class today if not the best, counting the Pulsar, Unicorn, CBZ* and Fieros. Its really slick and buttery smooth. Not a single false neutral and it will impress you over within minutes, okay, may be in an hour!

Suspension:-

This is where the party goes haywire for the Beamer. Ride as a pillion on her and you’re a*# will revolt to depart from your body. If the TVS Fiero is too softly sprung the LML Beemer is on the other side of the planet. Too stiffly sprung, the suspensions are a big letdown on the Beamer. The ride quality is poor to be the least and don’t raise your brows guys I know I am not too harsh.

Performance:-

I was just riding the bike around and not doing a road test. So not much that I can say about the performance. But I did rip her a bit and ooo yeah she responded. Zooms on to 60kmph pretty fast, feels fast and acceleration is in the same ball park with its competitors. Hardly any vibrations even in on 80+kmph speeds but the otherwise refined engine does rattles it a bit. And yes, I loved the exhaust note.

Mileage:-

Another let down here. The Beamer gives you the worst mileage in the 150cc class, ooh! I just forgot the CBZ*. The owner of the bike told me that on two highway rides that he took her, she returned a best of 60kmpl(apprx.) and generally gives 50kmpl in city rides. The competition has moved ahead, and the Unicorn, Pulsar and the Fiero scores hands down on the most important Indian biking factor.

Bottomline:-

Now guys if I start imagining myself as a road tester of motorcycles and recommend you to buy a bike, well forget the Beamer. It doesnot rides well, if you have a girlfriend you will loose her soon and other bikes give you better fuel efficiency with similar/better performance. But I am a not a road tester, I am person who happens to like motorcycles a whole lot. Therefore, I recommend MSians to go for Beamer, its fast, handles well, looks nice…well almost and more importantly is not a Pulsar, Unicorn or a CBZ. So now you can figure why I named the title as such. Its for you to decide that if you are a performance enthusiast with a limited budget or a commuter minded rider, its you vs. you!

Graptor new 150cc king on road
Oct 19, 2004 12:40 PM 10089 Views

Hey guys,

I own a Graptor myself!! before first servicing it was giving me around 45km/l. After that its around 48km/l.. m talking about city conditions!! and I drive it in mumbai where there is maximum traffic n also the roads r in a pretty sorry state!!

I wud recommend anybody for a graptor rather than a pulsar or f2!!!. I feel the graptor is better than pulsar in style n also comfortable to drive unlike the huge pulsar tanks !! the only problem m facing is with the gears!! its gets stuck wen u encounter a speed breaker and drop from 5th or 4th gear to 2nd!! other than that everything is perfect!!

Guys lemme know wat u gotta say!! Its very true that graptor needs alot of publicity cos the earlier lml bikes haven done that well!! I feel the lml shud think bout advertising the product,u hardly get to see any graptor ads.

As per comemted by Marutha kumar reply to it

Well graptor has style that is quite unique. mileage dude after 2nd and 3rd servicing its upto 55. And its quite a simple ratio u want power u gotta compromise with mileage.

I feel 55 km/l is gud enough for a 150 cc bike. And I feel frazer has alien looks. So I don wana look like an alien roaming around on a flaying saucer. And the pick up aint as gud as graptor. fiero has gud features, but the drawback is its orthododx looks. Hence for a perfect balance of looks, power, comfortability and milegae I feel graptor is the best.

Dude for a change try a 150 cc bike rather than ur 2 stroke yamaha. You can feel the difference

Graptor rocks!!!

cheers

Superb stuff......
Oct 17, 2004 03:54 PM 11033 Views

This is Rahul here, I just brought a Brand New LML Graptor...and am happy to give you a full review for all you people who want to know the bikes full credentials

I'll basically divide this into two parts, what the bike is favourable for and what its not favourable for (only one thing is non favourable for the bike...but for that read one)

I brought the bike almost a week ago and am happy to state thats its absolutely a sensational piece of technology

The + points

This bike has got lots and lots of Ooomph....(yeah looks)

Almost everybody by now has seen a Karizma.....but the Graptor, thats a class apart..

if u're still reading this, go and check out the bike from the side view on

https://lmlindia.com/lml/exports/products/graptor.htm

Now..that you're back...let me take you to its technological marvels..

Its got a blue display background with lights even in the Speed and RPM pointers...and thats apart from the dials.

Then its got Parking/hazard lights which really gets people to look at you especially babes....yeah...i know they're supposed to be hazard lights to be used in 'foggy conditions and when there's a problem with the bike' according to the manual, but lets face it....this is something the Competition doesnt have....who's gonna wait for a dumb fog to set in to get the lights going!!!

So ASA I put the lights on, all 4 signal indicators come on lighting up the bike

The side stand gear interlock is the best feature of the bike. You must have seen he Pulsar with a SIDE STAND DOWN red light but you must also have seen countless pulsars with the red light on even when the stand is up.....in short, the light malfunctions.....yeah a lot...seen it on my friends Pulsars. 3 of them

The Graptor has the feature that you cant put the bike in gear unless the side stand has been retracted...so yeah...removes all possiblity of the most common reason for accidents 'the dangling sidestand'

Moreover the bikes got an additional braking light like the cars Esteem (old model) and Accent (not Viva)

Its situated on the silver grip the pillon rider holds for support at high speeds (and believe me, the bike can do high speeds)...so this looks unbelievably attractive.

so lets check out the rear lights now

The Standard one, The one on the Silver Grip, The Reflector and The two signals (parking lights),

so you can simultaniously have 4/5 (with reflector) lights on at a time.

The driveablity of the bike is superb but the suspension is a little stiff which I figure is because the bike is new and will get softer in time.

The small minus point which I said earlier, is the front seat, the drivers seat..

its not very suitable for long highway rides, but is adequate....not the best seat I have ridden on, but like I said....adequate.

Thats about it for this bike

I would rate this bike 9 stars out of ten.

Thanx, any stuff u wanna know regarding the bike, feel free to ask me.

LML Graptor :: definitely Stylish
Oct 12, 2004 07:00 PM 14027 Views

Hi frendz,

I am Sanyam, pursuing B.Tech from hyderbad. I searched the forum and didnt find anything satisfying on Graptor, here's a review on Graptor.

Disclaimer - All the factors rated are my personal thoughts.

The story starts in july after getting placed in IBM, I wanted to have a bike to have fun in final year on hyderabadi roads. I was to buy a pulsar or an ambition. Moreover, I wanted to buy the bike from hyderabad as there are lots of problems bringing the bike (a new one) from bhopal and the registration issue's. There was no chance I was getting a Graptor as it was not launched in south zone. I thought of ambition as I never felt comfortable riding Pulsar. CBZ was expensive and fuel inefficient. Fazer looked stupid and an alien on indian roads.

I did a good amount of research on all the bikes in the market, I could possibly own. Even searched forums like xbhp.com and mouthshut.com and read few issues of autocar india and overdrive. I liked the specifications of Graptor but wasn't sure of it as it carried the name of LmL. After the long wait, I finally got a new ravishing Grey Graptor. I was not prepared for it untill, I took the test ride in bhopal when I went for vacations. I think the test ride changed my mind which is a story in itself.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Engine capacity 150.8cc

Bore x stroke 61 x 51.6

Number of valves 2

Max torque 12.84 Nm @6500 rpm

Max Bhp 13.5 bhp@8000 rpm

Gears 5

Carburettor type BS 26 (Ucal) CV type

Ignition system Digital CDI

Front tyre size 2.75 x 18''

Rear tyre size 3.00x18''

Brake type - Front Disc, Rear Drum

OVERALL VEHICLE DIMENSIONS

Length 1980 mm

Width 770 mm

Height 1150 mm

Wheel base 1280 mm

Ground Clearance 170 mm

Vehicle Weight 136 kg

Fuel tank Capacity 13.5 ltrs

Comparison which mattered for me

These were the few qualities, I was looking for.

  1. Stylish

  2. Good Pickup & Power

  3. Comfortable riding

  4. Easy handling

  5. fuel efficient

  6. Style - CBZ tops the list in this category. Graptor gave a new refreshing look with the new diamond frame design. Bikes in india normally comes with a smooth and curvy design but this one came with cuts and I like the cuts. The design seemed to be inspired by the current trend in Europe for big-bore naked sports bikes - bikes like the Ducati Monster and Graptor's namesake Cagiva Raptor. Pulsar is also good but I dont know why, it didnt fascinated me much. Fiero was out of question coz of its old and dull looks.

  7. Pickup and Power - Pulsar picks up in this category. CBZ and Graptor are equally good but pulsar has an edge due to its DTSI technology. Although if u leave out the pick up and consider rpm to speed ratio P150 and Gptr are neck to neck. Fiero sux in pickup and power.

  8. Comfort - CBZ and Graptor are good. Pulsar is not to be named in this category. With its fat and ugly fuel tank which makes your legs wide open isnt a bit comfortable.

Considering the ride and handling, Fiero with a thin rear tyre, is not very good at high speeds and Pulsar is bulky and difficult to handle in small turns. I would rate both Graptor & CBZ as the best in comfort and stability at high speeds but I found one disadvantage in CBZ is that u have to fold the footrest every time u have to kickstart the bike.

  1. Handling - Graptor with its new diamond shape frame and 170mm ground clearance is the easiest bike to handle at high speeds. Next comes CBZ and Fiero. I personally never liked pulsar's heavy handle to maneuver.

All the GenX sports bikes sport this design. Just have a look at Yamaha R1 or honda cbr 125. Even bikes in Dhoom the suzuki's stunning red/black Hayabusa and the yellow Bandit comes in a diamond frame. Moreover this diamond steel frame is not for style but gives a great balance at high speeds and curves which makes the handling smoother.

  1. Fuel Efficient - Fiero gives a better mileage than any in this category, then comes graptor, pulsar and cbz in order. Havent seen a pulsar giving above 50kmpl in normal riding (riding @ 60-65 kmph) in my campus (iiit hyd). Graptor comes with a CDI technology (common nowadays, ambition names it as AMI) stands for Controlled Digital Ignition which takes care of fuel efficiency. It easily gives above 50kmpl and I even touched 60kmpl when rode it in economy zone (ie 50kmph).

I would have bought a CBZ Star if it was a little cheaper and fuel efficient.

Conclusion -

This phrase is already mentioned in this forum, but it suited so perfectly for me atleast.

# IF u want a bike with Power but only for City conditions, and if style doesnt matters much, then go for FIERO.

# IF u want a bike with excellent performance and comfort, but mostly for Highway rides and out of city travels and can compromise on cost and mileage, go for CBZ.

# IF u want a bike which balances both the scenarios, then go for GRAPTOR, which I feel has succeded in balancing all factors like Power, Style, Comfort and Performance.

Factors which made my decision easier to buy a Graptor

  1. Price ! Rs 54,000 on road in bhopal.

  2. Superb electronics - Blue lit control panel, halogen headlight, hazard alarm, spoiler light, choke in hand, loudest horn among all others.

  3. smaller things taken care off, like right foot guard for not getting in contact with engine, gear lock while on a side stand.

  4. Strong suspension and excellent front disc brakes.

  5. One feels proud to own a stylish and a different bike. 1st in my institute and 2nd in hyderabad.<SIZE=2></SIZE=2><FONT=ARIAL></FONT=ARIAL><BLACK></BLACK>

<U>Factors which make me suggest this bike to others

</U>

Its been 45 days I got my babe, havent faced any problems although got a few scratches while getting it frm bhopal to hyd via train. The mileage varies with riding speed.

It gives -

60 kmpl if not above 50 kmph

53 kmpl on 60 kmph.

48 kmpl on 70 kmph.

first service is over and the milometer says 1200 kms. I have some question regarding Graptor.

Although the service was good, I think the mechanics fiddled with petrol setting to get better avg. and now the bike stops down sometimes on traffic light if I dont acc. to keep it running. Is this the problem with petrol setting or can be some other stuff ??

What speed limits should I follow now after I have crossed 1200 kms.

No surprises!
Sep 21, 2004 06:39 PM 6973 Views

This bike will need a lot of publicity to sell. This is because many people in India are not even aware that there is a brand called lml. With this the bike also has to be good. Does the graptor succeed in this?

The graptor looks distinctive. Very much. But it has been overstyled (if there is any such word). The design is too rakish. There is this naked y frame which lml calls extruded steel technology. It reminds you of the gf170. But it makes no effort to conceal its status. There is a sticker reading'est-extruded steel technology' on the y frame. The paint quality of the bike is not so good, neither is the build quality. Fit and finish is not satisfactory.

The engine is a 150 cc engine that pumps out 13.5 bhp. Power is very good. This does translate into good performance.0-60km comes in around 6 seconds. This is quite quick. But the f2 and pulsar are quicker from what I have read. Fuel efficiency. The thing that scores in india. Unfortunately it is not very good. It gives only around 40km/l. The pulsar gives atleast 55km/l!even the f2 gives around 50km/l.

Overall the bike is very average. Performance is good. That is the only pro. Looks are in the eyes of the beholder. Fuel efficiency is very bad. The pulsar scores over the graptor in every way. It is quicker, gives better power, performance and simultaneously gives good fuel efficiency. In my opinion, the pulsar is the best choice in the 150 cc segment

Please give me your comments and suggestions.

A preview before my review
Sep 07, 2004 01:56 PM 6795 Views

This is not a a review of this product as am yet to lay my hands on it (its not launched in blore yet).

The bike has a good decent look(overall) and the technical specifications read very energetic(Should this have been named ENERGY.....I Wonder???). As you read the other reviews on this bike, it has been very positive and encouraging. I am impressed with the blue backlit on the console and the inclusion of hazard lights.

I have a couple of suggestions (to LML)

  1. LML should seriously consider a variant/option of this bike with those chrome speed-dials and the round headlamp. These looked damn good on the Energy (which I owned earlier), though conventional.

  2. Make it available in more lighter colors and definitely in a Yellow(am just crazy about this color......i cant help mentioning it)

I would definitely like to consider this vehicle as my next buy. Will wait for its launch and then be back with my review.

Till then,

Bye

Updated - 25th Nov:

Is it just a coincidence that LML launched BEAMER and this matches exactly with my suggestion #1. Thanks LML. I hope you would take care of my second request too....atleast in the near future.

But then, when are these bikes coming to BLR????? Is LML listening to me......????

LML GRAPTOR & How it competes with others
Aug 04, 2004 09:41 AM 11879 Views

Hi everybody,

Most of you must be confused as to buy which bike in this 150cc Lifestyle segment as it has become very crowded nowadays. I have done some research on this segment including - PULSAR 150, FIERO F2, CBZ & GRAPTOR. I'll not comment much on style as it can depend on personal tastes, but I personally feel CBZ to be the most stylish of the lot.

Lets consider Fuel Economyfirst in which I found FIERO to be the best, which gives about 56-58 in city conditions, pulsar not very far with about 54-57 in city. Next comes GRAPTOR with about 52-54 in city and the last is CBZ with only 47-49 in city.

Lets see Power & Performance now. In terms of power, PULSAR is the weakest with only 144cc, FIERO with 147.5 cc, GRAPTOR with 150.8 cc and CBZ-the strongest with 156.6 cc. FIERO has the worst gear box with only 4 speeds whereas all others have 5. In terms of PICKUP, GRAPTOR steals the show with 13.6 bhp of power which is quite higher than all others.

Considering the ride and handling, Fiero with a thin rear tyre, is not very good at high speeds and Pulsar is bulky and difficult to handle in small turns.I would rate both Graptor & CBZ as the best in comfort and stability at high speeds but I found one disadvantage in CBZ is that u have to fold the footrest every time u have to kickstart the bike.

GRAPTOR has a Gear Interlock which will not allow you to put the vehicle in to gear unless the stand is removed. Considering the Cost, FIERO is the most economical of the lot and CBZ the most costliest.

My Suggestion: If u want a bike with Power but only for City conditions, then go for FIERO.If u want a bike with excellent performance, but mostly for Highway rides and out of city travels, go for CBZ. But if u want a bike which balances both the scenarios, then go for GRAPTOR, which I feel has succeded in balancing all factors like Power, Style and Performance.

Hope this has been useful to u....

Lets see... Ok I took this bike LML Graptor for an extensive Test drive... lets start with the mechanicals.... 150 cc... 13 bhp... 5 gears... not bad for its capacity... in fact its the highest power output for its capacity... that too without anything like digital mapping or DTS-i which incorporates 2 spark plugs..

Ride wise, its pretty okay... more or less for a bike in its category... but I think the front disc had a bite that was a tad too much or probably it was on my bike only...Dimensionally a little smaller than the pulsars... it's got a more relaxed biking stance... not like the inviting and sporty one of the pulsars... Good for some... bad for some...

One good thing I liked about Graptor was its gear shift.... LML says they've put roller bearings in the gear rod, which makes it smoother...which it is but also precise. You can get a few false neutrals in the pulsars...

There are a few knick knacks... that one can like and appreciate like the side stand when down doesn't let you engage gears. The instrument cluster looks good with the blue glow in it, but looks cheapish after a while.

The light controls fall easy to hand but they could've made the horn button used so often a little bigger.

Alright outright comparison to the pulsar 150 DTS-i... The pulsar scores in handling and efficiency... about 7-10 kms more.... but then the graptor scores in its pricing... and for a change people have a different bike to look at.

I mean everyone has a pulsar now. Yes it's got everything one wants, but a bit too common.

Styling is where personally I would prefer the pulsar. Coz LML could've done a great job with the chassis they had.... a double downtube crossover... the styling is alright but the front looks a bit too cluttered with the headlight too abstract to give it character. The pulsar's smooth lines look better.

The sides couldve been more sportier, but instead looks more bulkier.

A good add on is the rear brake light in the grab rail...

I was waiting for this bike since Jan as I had to buy a new bike, but I think I'll wait for the Honda 150cc monoshock( yes monoshock) bike to be launched in Sept.

Hope my review was of some help.

LML GRAPTOR READY TO GRAB PULSAR

Hi Friends

When I was planning to buy bike on that moment my family, friends amd myself voted for Bajaj pulsar DTSI. Of course the brand name, looks, Style, pricing as compared to (karizma , CBZ ). But suddenly when I had seen graptor Ad on CBNC I changed my mind because all above mentioned reasons are more fullfilled by Graptor.

Very soon I become head turners from petrol pump to traffic cops to other road commuter, they are just standing to see my bike. Definitely it make you feel great not only in looks that attracts me. It stability, Powerful engine as compared to pulsar 143cc to mine 150.5 cc bike and great mileage between 55-60cm, Pick Up is excellent.

The heart of this bike is the powerfull 13.5 bhp 150CC ??Gamma-9?? engine, which roars on EST (Extruded Steel Technology) frame. The Speciality of this frame is that istead of orthodox ?tubular? frames, it is rectangular in shape throughout giving the bike a rock solid stability during steep curves and provides that asthetic appeal.

The only problem so far I am facing with it gear shifting.

Hero Honda Splendour - Executive Bike

HI Friends,

This is my first review on Mouthshut. I have been owning the SPLENDOUR since the last 6 years, a long long time. I think nothing beats Splendour, if you are not a speed junky. Is the best executive bike till date.

The average is excellent. It still give me an average of 60-62km/l in city conditions (done 35000km). The suspensions are good as well. If you are looking for a bike, which is comfortable and gives you good average, than nothing beats a spendour. Maintenance is more or less zero.

The ONLY NEGATIVE about this bike is, you cannot go fast on it. I mean the bike can zoom upto even 90km/hr, but then it is not meant for that purpose. To get the best out of it drive it in the range of 50-60 km/hr.

Its a long lasting machine. CHEAP AND BEST.

LML Graptor head-2-head with Bajaj Pulsar
Jul 08, 2004 02:29 AM 12317 Views

They came with a workhorse, they came with a masculine punch with their punchline as ''Definitely Male''. The Bajaj Pulsar dtsi 150 ,they came and they conquered the Indian motorcycle market with a breeze. Soon this masculine metal beast won the heart of the Indian youth, and this bike became the benchmark for other motorcycle manufacturers. But, Alas!!! no one was able to do it.

Now the time came to give this metal masterpeice a head-to-head fight, now the time came to make this beast feel that he's not alone at the top level of motorcycling, now he's got a tough competitor- The all new ''LML Graptor''.

Its the latest and most masculine addition in the LML stable. And I am the proud owner of it (infact I was the third person in the Jabalpur city owning this bike).

The heart of this bike is the powerfull 13.5 bhp 150CC ''Gamma-9'' engine, which roars on EST (Extruded Steel Technology) frame. The Speciality of this frame is that istead of orthodox 'tubular' frames, it is rectangular in shape throughout giving the bike a rock solid stability during steep curves and provides that asthetic appeal.

As far as sitting is concerned its the best sitting arrangement in 150 cc segment, with plush cushioning of the seat it feels you are riding the bike sitting on a sofa, to top it up it has very effective suspensions, they say it as ''Ziga Suspension system'', and believe me friends even on the most rough roads of the city, I was getting very few vibrations (ofcourse you'll not include the bumps of a speedbreaker) The fuel tank I think was jealously inspired by the pulsar. It is intelligently designed and makes its contribution to the overall appeal of the bike. Its capacity is 13.5 liters which is more than sufficient when riding within the city limits. And One Litre of fuel in it gives a joy ride of 53-55 kms in city conditions

The headlight is equipped with a bright halogen bulb giving the clear view of the road in dark pale night. The blue light of the console gives it the futurisitic look and indicating that the next level of motorcycling has arrived.

Now lets come to few minus points. The only negetive aspect of this jewel I came to know is its Disk Brake. Although you'll be able to stop the bike on the pin-point, but it doesn't give you the confidence needed at high speeds. The rear brakes are the best in its class and doesnt need any refinements.

Graptor has another unique feature in its throne-The Hazard Warning Switch. When switched on,it illuminates all the 4 blinkers together, which is quite helpfull in foggy conditions.

Specs:-

Engine Gamma-9 150cc, 13.5bhp

Frame EST Frame

Fuel Tank 13.5 liters

Brakes Front- 240mm

Disc Rear- 130mm Drum

Shock Absorbers Ziga Suspension System

Front- Telescopic fork

Rear- Coil Spring with oil dampers

Muffler(Silencer) Drum Barrel Muffler

Gears 5, 1 down, 4 up constant mesh

Ground Clearence 170mm

My final verdict is:-''Pulsar 150 Beware of your kingdom, there is a new lion roaming in your vicinity'' So if you are planning to buy a 150cc bike, go for LML Graptor, or atleast give it a try.
