Kinetic Blaze was the first sport scooter to hit the Indian scooter industry. Until the entrance of the Blaze, the Indian customers only had witnessed ordinary scooters such as Bajaj Chetak and LML Vespa. When the Blaze entered the Indian campaign the whole industry got shocked and wonderingly stared at the machine. The scooter had a strange design and looked very monstrously. It was mated with a 165cc, 4-Stroke 4-Valve, single cylinder, air cooled engine. The scooter produces a max power of 11.6 Bhp @ 7500 rpm and max torque of 12 Nm @ 5000 rpm. It is mated with a front disc brake.

Hi friends today I am going to review on Kinetic Blaze. This scooty look is different any other scooty. It has a powerful engine but engine maintenance is very bad. Body language of this scooty good but strongless. Friends Kinetic is a biggest company in the world. But I think why made this scooty. What think about on this scooty. Friends this scooty spare part is very costly. And performance is not good. Totally this scooty very poor. Fuel consumption is very low. Handling control is good but after long drive you will get tried feel.

Kinetic blaze is very bad Scotty, it is not famous Scotty, it's speed race is very poor class. It's accelerater speed is very dangerous, do you know how much people dislike this scooty, it's average is very low, it's lights is not sufficient, it's spare parts is very costly and it's repair is too much costly.

Enjoy Ride YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My name is Rohit and I drive my kinetic italiano Blaze from last two and half year. Somebody written that it gives 40-45 km average but sorry bro my Blaze never give that much average. You are so lucky. It goes up to 120Km/h and its Pick up is also very good. It gives 25-30Km/liter. When it takes pickup that time all cars and bike are watching her and me also.

When I go to the Mahabaleshwar that time all are watching to my powerful Blaze. some people says me that your scooter is so nice and they seen this first time.

I bougth a Kinetic italiano blaze. It goes 40 to 45 km / ltr.It have a power full 165.12cc engine. and it's output bhp is 11.6.It's top speed is 120km/h(i drive). It pick up 0-60kmh speed in only 6 seconds.

It's advantage it have the italian design. Most I like in blaze the smooth engine , pickup, and milage40 to 45 is very good because Honda ACTIVA is give only 35 milage in only 100cc So, BLAZE IS very good in milage. It's tyres are wide so it's grip is very powerful. It's any light is run on 12V li-on bettry.

It is very comfortable to ride & handle.A girl can also drive. And safty system is It's DISC BRAKE and TELESCOPIC SUSPANSION.AND Kinetic Blaze's slogan YOUR SHORTCUT TO FAME is very truly.

My experience post 22,000 kms on the Blaze
Mar 24, 2009 01:14 PM38259 Views

Please note that this review is totally based on my own experiences with the Kinetic Italiano Blaze after riding it for 22, 000 kms. I bought the Blaze (disc brake version) in December 2006.

The vehicle was delivering great performance in the city as well as on the highway with respect to power and performance till the second servicing period. I always stuck to a Kinetic authorised service centre for servicing and engine oil change.

The scooter looks great and handling is excellent especially on sharp turns. Cornering capability of the Blaze is par excellence, even puts a pulsar or a karizma to shame. The real trouble started after I completed 6000 kms of riding. The silencer started giving off a rough noise, the clutch started slipping especially when I had a pillion rider with me. In fact the Blaze in spite of regular visits to the service centre did not regain its original power and still is extremely sluggish on double seat.

The rear suspension slowly wore out and I had to change it. The front suspension was pretty harsh especially on bumps. The clutch has been changed 5 times tiil date. The wheels do have a skidding tendency on wet surfaces and even changing the tyres won't help. The headlights have an uncanny knack of pointing towards the sky, I sometimes wonder if I am on a space shuttle travelling vertically. Repeated efforts by the Company authorised service centre(s) in different parts of the city were unable to rectify any of these defects and even if they did, the effect was very short lasting.

To add to my woes, the mileage which was around 35 km/litre in the city has now stooped down to a 28 km/litre, reasons for which yet remains to be discovered. I have quite a few long rides to places like Lonavala, Pune, Nashik, Daman on this vehicle but each time I had to shell out big amounts for repairs in the aftermath of these trips. The scooter on doble seat doesn't exceed a speed of 85 km/hour and actually struggles to reach that mark. I will never recommend this vehicle even to my enemy. I am unable to sell it as ithas no resale value. Any suggestions on this article is welcome. Thank You.

Good Bike but has few flaws
Mar 03, 2009 09:46 AM29358 Views

I had brought my first bike an enticer, had it for two years and then sold it and we decided to go in for the blaze. The main reason for choosing the blaze was

1) Both me and my sister have mopeds, my sister already has a Honda Deo, she is more comfortable on automatic bikes, hence I too decided to go in for an automatic bike as it would enable more members of the family to use the bike.

2) I needed to travel a distance of 40-45 kms daily on the highway “Andheri – Mira road and back” and wanted something powerful and comfortable which good boot space, the blaze satisfied all those attributes.

So without much hesitation I went in for the blaze, was only specitical about the brand name Kinetic as I earlier ha a Nova which gave a lot of trouble.

The bike is quite huge to look at, it can dwarf most bikes and is same size as a bullet, the kerb weight is 157 kgs. The seat has two divisions, the front seat for the driver is lower than the rear seat, seat is ergonomically designed to give comfort to the rider and pillion pax, even on long drivers you do not feel any dis-comfort. The colours available are red, black, blue and grey, I went in for the red. The boot space is large, can easily stuff a helmet and the manuals. The frontboard has good space where you can hang your groceries, also the glove compartment is good to keep the bike papers, The boot can be opened through the main iginition switch.

The bike has a sporty look, with a good headlight, and two side lights, European styling I believe. I went in for the disc brakes option. The dashboard has a tacometer, speedometer, fuel gauge and watch. It also has a beeper when the indicator lights are switched on.

The bike is powerful and is capable of easily reaching speeds of over 100 km/hr. The bike is 165 cc and 15.6 Bhp. The acceleration is good, smooth ride quality, great suspension, good handling, good braking could be better though and great turning radius, if you want to U Turn you can do it very easily better turning radius than the nova and deo.

Well the bike is costly if compared to what Hondo offers, a good 20k premium over the Deo and activa. Besides this the bike is a guzzler. Returns an average of 25km/liter in the city and about 32 km/liter on the highway. Spares are not easily available and are costly, if your tires get puncurated it is very difficult for an average mechanic to open the bike to remove the tires, also opening the bike for repairs is much for cumbersome in this bike. The horn is too weak for a bike this size. My engine gave me some problem and needed to do some repairs, got a bill of 8000 INR. Engine quality and realibilty I feel Honda scores over Kinetic but in performance Kinetic would score higher. The engine is noisy if compared to the Honda bikes.

If your looking for good looks, speed, performance and comfort go in for the blaze. If you are looking for better reliability, fuel efficiency, lower spend on manmtainence and lesser headaches go in for Honda bikes “Activa or Deo”. If you have a budgetary constraint go in for Honda Bikes.

Never buy this or u r gone
Feb 10, 2009 06:10 PM28919 Views

I was may be first lot user of this scooter in my city. the most stupid work I have done in my life is the decision of buying this scooter.

Its gives an average around 28 on city and 30 on high ways the only good thing is its stability on road or may be the braking. now the bad part stats.

Whenevr u take it to service station they return it back to u with ahuge bill & another added problem. every single part is costly & if the charger is gone then u never find it back in ur scooter. Then stat kicking it & driving it without horn in the city. this itself loose some pressure.

In this situation it can not sart the scooter. but still u want to purchase it u r either a fool or a C. hope it will help u in avoiding it. takecare

Blaze- my experiences
Oct 31, 2008 01:55 PM29947 Views

In the past I’ve owned an electric scooter and a kinetic marvel. Both were vehicles I’d opted for the conveniences they provide. However the Marvel is what I used for a larger period of time- almost 6 years. And I must say it’s had its fair(or almost unfair?) share of metro traffic interspersed with quite a few weekend rides out of Bangalore.

So when it was time for me to go for a new vehicle, I was still looking for that gearless convenience to survive the insane traffic, but also something that I could take out on weekend bike trips with confidence. With these two factors in mind, of course the next thing I had to consider was power and mileage. As we all know, one is inverse to the other with most of the options out there. This is where I decided to compromise a bit, indulge myself and opt for more cc’s than the 110 that the marvel came with.

Considering all this, the obvious option I had was the Kinetic Italiano Blaze. Of course, I planned to demo ride it before finalizing.(The other options suggested by friends and colleagues were the Dio and Activa). I test rode the Blaze, accompanied by my fiancé(who has an Enticer and an Avenger) and the first thing that the both of us were awed by was the seating comfort that it provided. Then came the obvious power and pick-up of the 165cc, 4stroke engine and the handling. All this won the Blaze enough brownie points for us to go for it.

I’ve now had the Blaze for more than a year and my experiences with it should qualify for a fair enough review.

Let me begin with the look and feel: The looks are something that one might come to like with time. I wont elaborate much, but the huge twin lamps of the headlight, the body lines, the split seats, huge instrument panel( has a tachymeter and clock), the visor and the beefy wheels all spell design and style – enough to give credit to its Italiano branding.

I also had the option to choose a custom paint(costs extra) from a wide range. The icy

metallic blue that I chose works out in accentuating the lines and contours of the body.

Next the ride comfort – the split seat setup is really spacious and the front seat comes with a kind of ridged back rest that’s extremely ergonomic. The back seat, though equally comfortable, is perched way higher than the front and poses a bit of a challenge for the pillon rider to get onto it – especially for people who are shorter than the average height or for elderly people.

The suspension is good on the Blaze, but after a year of usage I must say their quality has dropped considerably.( this might also be owing to the extremely bad patches of road that my blaze has had to endure – with repair work that’s been goin on in and around where we stay). However, at high speeds(a 100+ on the highway) the vehicle exhibits good road grip and stability. Corner handling as well as the surprisingly tight turning radius are also something that you wouldn’t come to expect in a scooter of this size. Both make for some easy handling.

I’ve serviced the scooter regulary throughout this period, but the service centre hasn’t been able to do much regarding the suspensions. Unfortunately this also applies to the mileage. The Blaze initially gave me 35kmpl in the city and almost 40 on the highways. It has now dropped to a maximum of 28kmpl in the city – so its morphed into quite a guzzler. I wish Kinetic had service centers that would cater to the Blaze in a more specialized way so that issues like this would be dealt with efficiently.

The other noteworthy aspect would be the underseat storage space that the blaze provides – holds a medium size helmet and some more. Also the floorboard is decently spacious. Convenient, be it for your grocery shopping or on long rides. The seat lock/ boot space can be operated from the ignition key point.

On the down side, the huge headlight with its split lamps that are quite powerful, does a very poor job of lighting up the road ahead of you. Gets even worser when you switch to high-beam. It then turns into a lighthouse beacon of sorts pointing to some point way above ones horizon. Once again the service centre has been incapable of rectifying this problem. Also, the horn on the Blaze is a sad excuse for a feeble beep – might help to change it.

The engine by itself is quite noiseless – and it sets itself into a nice purr especially on good long roads. However, depending on the road conditions and usage, a few creaks groans do build up along the joints. This is something that a routine servicing takes care of. I’ve also had to replace the silencer after about 5 months of having the Blaze – one fine day it started chattering away like it was desperately transmitting morse, only louder. Im guessing – bad roads, once again?  However, the warranty took care of it for me.

The road clearance on the blaze is good, but for the rear part where the silencer and engines are. Both tend to hit if you aren’t careful on bad bumpy roads or on speed breakers. Same applies to tilting the scooter on bad roads, though on flat stretches this isn’t a problem at all.

That’s the Kinetic Italiano Blaze for you. Its classifies for a moto-scooter, its fun and stylish, has a wheelbase bigger than that of an enfield, makes for some really pleasurable riding though it’s a guzzler. That again can be minimized if you aren’t too liberal with the throttle and make a conscious attempt at keeping down the revs within the city. It’s a mixed bag, you may come to love it or hate it…it finally comes down to what it is that you are looking for in your ride. The Blaze may not win in a Power vs Mileage quest, but is sure has a lot of things going for it to make it a memorable vehicle for you to have owned.

Hope this review has been helpful, adios!

OK blaze
Sep 23, 2008 02:14 PM23632 Views

Owned a blaze since may of 2006.Later upgraded front brake to DISK.A must for a vehicle of this size.Only problem is the plastic claddings @ the bottom that break frequently (part of this is to do with some bad roads in bangalore).Resale is poor 25k @ max is what I hear for a 65k bike(disc version)

For its size it is very stable and handles bad roads well.Very steady @ high speeds. The accelerator cable gave out recently however after 14 k that I guess is not unheard off. The service centers rarely return the vehicle in  time

Ask the owner

I own a blaze. I brought it an year back. It is a beast within. The best part is the engine and the pickup

Compare it with any other vehicle and u will c the difference. I have touched a top of 120kmph on the pune banglore highway.

I went out for a trip from pune towards the konkan with my friends. we went for about 245km journey both ways. There were 14 bikes and one BLAZE. All my friends were exhausted after the journey and their legs and bump were paining but not mine. The comfort is too very high to mentioned in words.

It has been an year and I have driven the vehicle for 25000 km. I am extremly happy with the bike

BUT I am highly annoyed with the service station. they do not know how to service this bike or they feel lazy enough to work on this bike.

Lovely piece of art.

As far as average is concerned it gives me good 35-40kmpl. For those who cry that the bike has a low average I will just say one thing what average do they expect from a BMW or a merk?

Luxiory do costs u something. But " BOSS STYLE HAI POWER KE SATH"

If u have any doubts about this bike ask me

I have grown up hearing the new generation screamimg for perfomance 2 wheelers. while this may some what be answered in thebike segment it has fell on deaf ears on the scooter manufacturers who kept churning out load carriers ( keep in mind these too give only around 40 to50km/lt max ). then kinetic stepped forwar and released the uncontended king of scooters by releasing the blaze. quite proud of themselves they stepped back into the dark to let the product and its customers speak about the blaze themselves. But alas that was not to be.While everyone has admitted its the most stylised, powerful and comfortable scooter on indian shores they started complaining about the mileage, the pricing and the lack of better quality. Agreed the consumers desrve it but lets analyse this.... kinetic could hav inproved the overall quality but that would have increased the on road price and people are bitter about the pricing already !!! and about mileage.... its a maxi scooter with 11.7 bhp, 170cc engine with the broadest company fitted tyres in india all to please the performance demanding customers and it still manages to give 30 to 35km/lit ( which is only 5 to 10 km/lt less than the 100cc kid cycles with engines!!). A handfull of people have truly appreciated the blaze for what it is... that is outstanding street presence, amazing riding comfort and awe inspiring power. All I have to say is ride one before you judge it. I have a bullet, a unicorn and a aveo at home and I still consider the blaze the stress free rider in the heavy traffic infested cities of bangalore. Its gearless, has the pick up of a bike and the largest seat comfort to make it the logical choice in intercity commutes. The blaze is the uncrowned king on the indian roads at present. unbelievable??  believe it...........................................

Hyderabad India
Blaze 2 Fame
Jun 02, 2008 02:27 PM21817 Views

This is Mukesh from Hyderabad, I have been a great Fan of This bike since the day it launched here Hyderabad and a PROUD owner since Jun 2006.

The Product was Amazing and had a test drive, and immediately decided to Book 1.

I shall keep the review Short and Easy  for potential buyers.

The PRO's of the BIKE.

>The LOOKS of the bike, even till date make the 'AAM JANTA'  turn their heads., and you get a spl. treatment when you land up @ public Parking places[shopping malls, Multiplexes] just because of the shear size of the vehicle.

>The Bike has Amazing Pick up, and Zaps away from the SIGNAL like a trace of Bullet.

>Has very very good Handling, and maneuvers very well even in sharp curves @ speeds of 35-45Kmph.

>Has excellent Shocks to give that CLASS feeling of Riding this mighty beast on TOUGH roads.

>The Riding comfort need no mention as one of the best you can ever find on any of the Indian Bikes.

>The Millage that I have been consistenly getting since I have been using the SHELL-Super fuel, is around 44-46kmpl and this is achived when I ride the bike @ speeds of 45-55kmph range.

And avoid Sudden brakes, and frequent stopping.

The CON's of the BIKE.[I hate this part when it comes for My BIKE :( ]

>The PILION riding position is only ment for good young youth, and not for OLD adults, who feel the pains all over while they try to Board this BEAST ;)

>Very difficult to HANDLE the PUNTURE situation I mean Very very difficult.[removing and assembling back the wheeel is like a JIG SAW puzzle]

>The HEAD LIGHTS are preety week, and needs more coiling to shine brighter.

>The Maintainence is a bit expensive, as every time I leave it for servicing the normal, charges of Labour and Oil cange come up to around 600 bucks.

>The DISK brake should be made standard and the COST be reduced as well.[Mine is a non disk brake version].

>The ENGINE off button is missing the same as we have in PULSAR bikes.

Thats it,

I guess this should be Quick points to be noted before making your choice of Bikes.

An Open Car having 2 wheels
Apr 06, 2008 05:10 PM31613 Views

I am using BLAZE for more than 2 years & have drove 17, 300 km& still people ask me "Is it Honda' bike? What is the company name etc. etc." & it gives me a BIG Smile implying that WHAT does it means?

This moto-scooter is really awesome. I

have drove above 100 kmph for about 100 times & still it is running perfectly fine.

My average speed on Blaze is currently 40-50 kmph.

The style, its look, the Seats are superb.

I bought this vehicle because We are using the Kinetic scooter since 1987.

So, we knew that they will be having Quality since my older scooter is still running perfectly fine. Moreover, having a bike of 165.12cc means something.

Moreover, the other bikes will pose problems to me as my height is 6' 3.5" & 99 kg(earlier it was 117 kg) which means that the bike must be of a giant type so that I don't feel pain in my back.

Its' current mileage for me is:

  • 28 - 32 if driving @ 100 kmph

  • 33 - 35 if driving @ 75 kmph

  • 38 - 40 if driving @ 55 kmph

  • 45 - 46 if driving @ 40 kmph

Use SPEED, or POWER, or EXTREME petrol only else the Engine will gets adversely affected.

My TOP-SPEED at Blaze is 115 kmph **(at a running stretch of 7 km highway only).

I am getting an average of 44-46 kmpl nowadays.

What I LIKED Mostis:

  • Presence of an Onboard Digital Clock. It makes easier to arrive at some place in time.

  • Its speed.

  • Its Acceleration since it is too smooth. Just moving a little bit moves the vehicle @45 kmph.

  • Power.

  • Drivers' Seat

  • Its' height; easy for those who have a giant bulit size.

  • Hot Looks.

  • Pick-up.

  • Even driving @105-110 kmph doesn't looks like that I am flying in AIR. Its grip with the road is superb.

  • If I leave the Accelerator of my bike, it gets slowed within few seconds.

  • Superb & Powerful Shockers!

  • In past 2.5 years, I have drove more than 17, 300 km(however, it doesn't ran for 9 months due to holidays in my college) but still it got Punctured only once till now. This is Amazing.

  • When driving, even the Policemen & Traffic Police asks me for a Lift. In fact, they wait for me to go.

  • Its Stability.

But still, it lacks or have some major problems viz.:

  • The TOOLS provided is ofpoorer quality. In my first use, it broke & the KINETIC MOTORS claimed that the Tools are of the best quality. But when I reviewed it from the local vendors for this tool, they claimed that it is of local quality. THIS is a cheating esp when we are paying such hefty amount of money for a scooter.

  • The claim by Dealers that its tyre is Puncture-Resistant & if it gets punctured even then it can be driven a long way until the bike is not stopped/slowed,proves FALSE. My tyre got punctured & it hardly moved 100 m while I was driving @45 kmph.

  • The details provided in the BOOKLET of Blaze doesn't shows "how to open the rear tyre if it gets punctured?" This is most important aspect according to me. It took approx. 4 hours to open the rear tyre by the mechanic. The 3 screws is not required to unscrew to take out the tyres. Instead, it needs5 SCREWS TO BE UNSCREWED TO TAKE OUT THE TYRE.

  • Its weight dramatically INCREASES after Puncture. It felt to me like I am pulling a load of approx 250 kg.

  • The Bulb provided forLights are ofSub-Standard Quality. In fact, I have changed it once since I have bought the Blaze.

  • The Ignition Screw provided istoo difficult to operateif some problem occurs in the ignition. At least 2 people are required to change the RPM value so that the bike doesn't stops while in stand-by mode.

  • The space providedbelow

the drivers' seat doesn't have much spaceif the driver is having Helmet of STUDDS NINJAas I am using it. I have to take my HELMET in HANDS as NINJA DOESN'T FITS INSIDE IT.

  • The location of Exhaust Pipeor

SMOKE PIPE provided is very-very DANGEROUS. If the pillion rider is a LADY wearing SAREE, then the chances of getting the Saree SAFE i.e., without any damage to Saree is DIM. My mothers' lot of Saree's are damaged due to the extensive HEAT GENERATED.

  • The FRONT SPACE provided where the LUGGAGE can be kept is too less. I mean to say that if you are doing some household chores, then it is difficult to keep the things in such a LESS SPACE.

No Seat Coveravailable for Blaze from the company.

  • No Vehicle Coverprovided.

  • The KICK provided is alsoNOT of aGOOD QUALITY. When I kicked to my BLAZE, the kick broke down in approx 9 kicks. However, the company replaced it as it was in Warranty Period.

  • The Screw-Driverprovided is of

the Worst Quality.

  • No Screw-Driver providedfor changing the FOCUS of BULB{Light}. The screw driver provided doesn't enters into the gap provided to change it.

  • DIFFICULTto check & replace the ENGINE OILat home. It is provided just near the EXHAUST PIPE.

  • The recommended oil forENGINE by Kinetic Motors is alsoUNAVAILABLE in the market. In fact, we have to Buy CASTROL. Then what is the need of recommending such an OIL's name which is absent from the market?

  • The Authorized Service Stations are very few & out of those recognized ones, very few have been trained for servicing BLAZE. However, they claim that they do the servicing of it. But, I have a bitter experience.

One authorized service centre in Noida claimed so & done servicing in 30 minutes but when I reviewed it to the Authorized Service Station in Ghaziabad(however, they are even fraud & hence I have lodged F.I.R. against them recently), to my horror they said that ur bike is running more than 2000 kms without servicing. The brake shoe was not changed even which has to be changed after 15, 000 km.

PS: Please note that the complete servicing takes approx 2.5 hours. When bike or any scooter is took for servicing, it must be kept for sometime to get it cool else it damages the performance of the engine. This was told to me when I was attending a meeting meant for authorized servicemen for BLAZE.

BUY ONLY If you are looking for:

1) COMFORT,

2) SAFETY,

3) LOOKS,

4) EFFECTIVENESS, &

5) EFFICIENCY(in Time).

Don't Buy If you are looking for:

1) A Bike of GOOD MILEAGE,

2) Some one having price 3) Reliability,

4) Driving at lower speed.

INCREDIBLE!
Dec 18, 2007 01:22 PM22203 Views

First of all i'd like to say that I cant even believe that this type of vehicle is now available in Indian market. I mean earlier, all scooter choices were boring - like choose between activa or nova or kinetic or scooty or even worse, eterno, chetak. oh god, I just didnt like any of them. I was reluctant to go for a bike (because mumbai traffic is so bad u really have to see to believe) as gears, backpack etc are all a hassle. but there was no choice but to go for pulsar since all the scooters were just plain turn offs.

and then came the shining bright spot of my life. when I saw the blaze on road first time, it made a WOW impression on me and I knew I would have to get this one somehow. and after some time, I sold my pulsar (it was too much maintenance hassle anyway), used the money for downpayment, rest on finance and got myself this Italian beauty in red.

Now what I can tell u about the blaze that u dont know already? we all know by now that its very stylish, fast and has very comfortable seats, and it got seven awards. some may find it a little expensive but its worth it. mileage I get about 40 kmpl about same as pulsar.

I've now been riding blaze for 11 months and not faced any problem with it and I am happy.

Thank god this product is there for us now. otherwise we had to choose between bad boring and ugly. now something good is also there!

My review after 1 month (1000Kms) of use
Sep 24, 2007 01:58 PM28994 Views

After going through the reviews on the Blaze on the Internet and mouthshut.com, I decided to take the plunge and go for the scooter.

The main criteria for choosing the Blaze was that, the vehicle must be simple to ride(i share it with my sisters) so a bike was out of question, powerfull(as im 90Kgs and the place I live is very hilly terrain. So it must be capable of lugging two heavyweight persons up an inclination). Another important factor for going for the Blaze was that im a fairly tall and heavyly built person and none of the other bikes I test drove(Active, Dio, Nova etc.) weren't spacy enough for my legs. The handle seemed to knock into my legs even for a fairly small turn. Finally I really liked the looks and the presence of the BLaze.

So, I have done~1000 Kms on the bike in just under 20 days and here is my opnion on the vehicle.

(Please remember that the bike has not gone for its 1st serviceing yet nor has it been registered yet)

Fuel efficiency:

Forget this vehicle if you are after a economy bike. The average KMPL I get is around the 30-36 mark(people say it will increase after the 1st service to around 40 KMPL). Oddly, there are twopetrol pumps in, my locality. One a new one(around 2 years old) and the other is fairly old(15+ years). I get around 25KMPL from the newer one and 36KMPL from the older one.

Performance:

The performance of the vehicle is very good. It can easyly lug two~90Kg passengers from standstill to~50Kmph on a fairly steep inclination(which was what my requirement was). Coming to the acceleration, I think, the peak comes at 5000RPM and I think it would be better if it was at 4500RPM as thats the range that you would be driving around in traffic. But that is not a major problem. Overall though, Im extremely pleased at the performance.

Looks:

Even though looks are subjective, I think the vast majority will agree that the Blaze really looks great! What with the Italian styling, it stands up to the "shortcut to fame" tag. I get atleast 3-5 enquiries at evry stop along the way about the Blaze. One of the best looking vehicles around!

Ergonomics:

The seat(especially the front) is VERY comfortable even after a couple of hours of driving. Contrary to whats being said about the rear seat, MANY indian women will find it very hard to get to the back seat. Its that high. Even I(6Ft tall) found it daunting to climb on top of the back seat(when the vehicle was deivered to my home by a showroom guy I sat at the back). So make sure the pillion is athletic before letting him on your back seat! Regarding the switch gear, I have a suggestion to Kinetic regarding the layout of the left hand switches. While driving at night, it is troublesome for one to reach the highbeam flash switch as majority of the time your finger lies on the horn button. It has to moove across the turn signal indicator switch and to reach the flash switch. It would have been helpful if the horn switch is located between the blinker and flash switch. Also, the front glove box is useless for anything bigger than ascrewdriver(or a cleaning cloth, as was my case). My ideal space would have been to fit a 500ml soft drink bottle there(oddly, I have found a good place to fit it though, bitween the front black wind shield and the top portion of the speedometer!)

Overall though, the small ergonomic issues are very minor and do not make the Blaze any less attractive to buyers. I would defenitely recommend the Blaze to anyone who have the fuel economy a bit down the list.

PS: A question to the other blaze owners, what is your engine idle RPM? Mine is revving on at 2.5k RPM.Im thinking on reducing that to around 1.5k RPM.

Ammmmmmazing!!!!

Being one of those rare species who dislike changing gears, I was used to travelling around Bangalore in auto's. The need of the day was a vehicle which satisfied the following:

  • Auto geared.

  • Decent mileage.

  • Huge and comfortable (I am basically a tall, huge guy).

  • Unique.

Blaze satisfies all these easily and lot more. I have been riding it for almost two months now and the experiance has been great.

Looks are eye catching. Just buy the red one and you'll catch people stare at the vehicle at each and every traffic signal. (PRO)

Power and acceleration is excellent and the surprised look on the faces of other riders is worth watching, provided you also keep an eye on the road. :-) (PRO)

Handling is great with the extra weight, wide rear tyre and all. Be sure to get a disc break version, I have no clue as to how people with drum brakes stop this brute. (PRO)

Seating for the rider is very comfortable. The pillion rider though feels like he/she is in the sky, but still is very confortable. (PRO)

Leg space is ample with multiple riding positions possible. It's a god send for people like me with 6 feet frame. Not a good idea for smaller people though (you'll basicaly look odd) (PRO)

Suspension was a bit iffy at first but get the service people to set it right for your weight and its goes smooth. (PRO)

Mileage is an average of 30 in city riding conditions. And believe me the traffic in Bangalore is pathetic. Compare this to around 40 that my friend get from their Unicorns and Pulsars, I must say the blaze is not too bad. (OK)

Fuel tank capacity is something that Kinetic could improve, 6 litres x 30 = 180 KM per refill is not my preference. Especially long rides in and out of Bangalore are a pain with atleast two re fueling. **(CON)

Minor gripes: Tweak the headlight to point at the right angle on a high beam. Horn could have been a little more macho. Plastics could use some improvement. Kinetic could have provided beeper for the indicators as default.

Overall this is "THE" vehicle if you are big, need a auto geared scooter, unique on the roads, and mainly don't mind spending a bit more on fuel.

NEW DELHI India
Best Luxurious two wheeler

I am Sudhir Kashyap from New Delhi and its my very first review.

I had purchased Kinetic Blaze just 28 days ago and already done 900km.  What to say its really a awesome vehicle,  Frankly speaking its truly a Eye catcher when u r on the rods people just stare at u even the fellow motorist stops to have a glimpses of this vehicle.

Acceleration no words to speak even bike like pulsar and Karisma fails to catch  though they come near after couple of Km’s

Seating is absolutely outstanding, I have continuously ridden the blaze for 2 hours 20min. but was not tired enough where as I feel uncomfortable seating in bike after an Hour and so. Its having a seat like sofa with rest and also spacious leg room which makes the body to change various position while riding.

Suspension of  blaze is far better then any other scooter, maintain correct tyre pressure and u will never feel jerks on rods, it’s the smoothest one.

Heaver then other 2 wheelers but that’s the secret which helps the vehicle to maintain balance even in the highest speeds,  Add to it the flat wide tyre which provides better road grip and scooter doesn’t  skids even on wet surfaces.

Storage is also a great plus point of  Blaze as its easy for me to carry stuffs to my office and also helps me to keep valuables after shoppings.

Yep! Mileage is really pathetic, even if u ride descent still not better the 30 – 35km, In long journey’s u have to fill the oil twice really irritating….

Back seat is very high, it’s harder for  elder people to climb and the wind hits straight on the face of pillion if he or she is not warring helmet.

Maintenance is very easy just change the engine oil, gear oil and clean the air filter on time that’s it.

Please rate & Comment on my review…..

Worst vehicle one can buy
Jun 30, 2007 05:10 PM25395 Views

I was a kinetic Honda customer for about more than 10 years. Then last dec 2006 I bought a new kinetic blaze. At first it was a excellent ride. But there was some disturbing noise which I soon notified the

service center. I DON"T KNOW WHY I DID THAT AFTER THAT MY RIDE WAS THE WORST ONE. I think kinetic never train the service people and the those service people try to studying on my vehicle.

After that I have given them to repair for at-least 8 to 10 times and they don't even care to check it. Now the vehicle is SOUND BOX WHICH CAN MAKE ALL THE POSSIBLE UGLY NOISES. Now I have ride it for 5000KM with all my embarrassment. If you ask me about BLAZE.

I will say do not buy it. Its the WORST ONE YOU CAN GET. Take me seriously. All the goodness of kinetic Honda have been gone :(Service center I was complaining about is : MSQUARENow I think someone from kinetic is trying to delete this post. And to add more I still facing the same issue. And when I tried to contact

the Kinetic engineer they says that there is a much better moto scooter coming wich will be a good one. So it means that Blaze is not good.

Even the Kinetic knows about the quality of Blaze very well :)I even tried to sell it off but its seems no one is interested in buying it :( (I wont blame them)
