Yeh Delhi Hai Mere Yaar..!

By: confusedsoul | Posted Apr 28, 2011 | Direct Dil Se | 920 Views

Hello Friends,

I am in Delhi and it's almost a week now. When we visit a new city we often have preconceived notions about it. But it's only after living, knowing the real city we get the real feel of what exactly the city is like.

Let me recall my experience so far and brief u on the things I have come across.

People: The most simple people I have ever met. Never faced any difficultly in locating the routes or in finding the bus number. People here are always ready to help you.

Places: I have seen the historic Red Fort, Jantar Mantar.... The money spent on printing the tickets seems to more than the charges... :P India Gate is always there welcoming everyone to this Great city.

Shops/Markets: Janpat is the right place for all women who often look for good accessories, the ethnic kinda... Palika Bazar is the best place for clothes... And Yeah do not forget to Bargain... I know customer is the King who doesn't bargain but Queens certainly can :P

Restaurants: I have been to a few. Mama Goto, Khan Market is one of them. The food was delicious, but it did result in a slight hole in my pocket :P Apart from that the Dhaba kinda food available at Nizamuddin was good too!

Auto : The meter starts at 19 Oops! :P

Buses: Yes the common man Chariot..! Something peculiar about this one is, The TC never comes and collects the fare unlike the TC in hyd. The first thing u need to do after entering the bus is to locate the TC and mind u, he isn't in uniform...! :P This is something I got used to now. I never mind travelling without the ticket as I am a Guest ;) But I am warned.... It seems I will end up in Jail if climisht and I am not that keen on becoming the guest there ;)

People here are hardly bothered about what's going on in others life... Unlike the general Indian tendency... I have used all my bargaining skills and having a fun time ;) It's my last day in Delhi today.. Looking forward to a lot more...! And for sure I'll miss this lovely city...

Wish u all a Bright day~! :)
