“Yeh aashirwaad aapko bhagwaan……… ne bheja hai. Is SMS ko aap 5 logo ko bhejenge to aapko 15 din mein achhi khabar milegi, 10 logo ko bhejenge to 7 din mein aur 15 logo ko bhejenge to kal tak aapko shubh samachar milega. Lekin agar aap yeh message delete karenge to aapka kuch ashubh ho sakta hai”
I think most of us have received such SMSs from some of our acquaintance at some point of time. Our reaction could be different though. Most of the people who circulate it either believe in it or are scared of the “Bad results”. A few think it is “fun”. I categorise myself in those people who think they cannot please or irritate their god with a SMS. They have that much of faith in him.
But recently I received a SMS which stated
“Aapko aapki mummy ki kasam hai, is SMS ko 15 logo ko forward karo, warna aapka bahut bada kuch ashubh hoga. I am sorry I am sending you this SMS, mujhe bhi fasaya gaya hai”
It was completely unacceptable. I called up the person who sent me this and requested not to send me such SMS in future. She told me, she forwarded it to people because she was scared. We all go weak when it comes to the family. She was already remorseful and told me that she randomly selected people and sent across the SMS and later received a call from one of her acquaintance, who lost her mother recently. I could not say much to her but requested her to backtrack the person, who has sent it to her, and may be we can, if not stop, then definitely reduce such non-sense.
We are all possessive about our family, kids, parents and spouse. They are our strengths but at the same time our weakness as well. Though one SMS can never overpower our wishes but god forbid if something wrong happen, we will keep thinking, “Kaash hamne who SMS forward kar diya hota”. I am really disturbed since yesterday, though I have full faith on God, but I don’t want a bloody sms to be responsible.
A humble request to all, in case you receive such SMS, please discourage them.
