I crossed the gate. A gentle breeze welcomed me. The rows of huge gulmohar trees on the avenue formed a canopy over me. Tiny white Harsingar flowers (Coral Jasmine) were on my way, giving me the direction. The mild fragrance tantalized my senses. Lost in my world, I moved ahead and saw a few canines roaming, brown, black, chitkabra err I mean spotty. I think that was Dalmatian. But they were not bothered who is passing by.
My chain of thoughts was broken by a restless soul who was pointing at something by barking incessantly at a particular point. I looked up and saw a non botheredlangoor sitting on the edge of a wall, high enough for him to feel safe. I was a little cautious and since it is none of my business, I carefully paced ahead. I started breathing again after I crossed a few meters.
The deep pink colour of paper roses always attracted my attention. The flowers with no smell, yet they are beautiful and strong. As I moved ahead I had to take the diversion as a muster of peacocks blocked the way I was supposed to take. I stood there for a minute, admired the beauty of nature. The long vibrant tails, indeed a glorified national bird. The lou lou of these birds echoed the place.
I felt a nostalgic fragrance, and yes, it has to be jasmine, and I spotted the whole fence of them, full of flowers attracting every passer by. My next step could be lethal for a squirrel as I was lost in jasmine flowers but it was swifter than I expected.
Sparrows, weaver birds, woodpeckers were also making their presence here and there. I was really enjoying all this when something caught my attention. A row of parrots sitting in a line, may be preparing for some choir or performance.
I couldn’t capture any of them as I was not carrying any techno-junk with me. But there is always a next time.
So, anyone interested to come with me for a morning walk tomorrow?
