Those Silent Eyes….

By: confusedsoul | Posted Aug 08, 2010 | Direct Dil Se | 1178 Views | (Updated Aug 08, 2010 03:18 PM)

At times, the depth within the eyes expresses thoughts more than a million words. When we fail to say something, we wish someone reads our Silent Eyes. They speak volumes and they never lie.

Often there is a need to understand beyond words… Teaching according to me is one such profession where in an individual (the teacher) requires to read between the lines.

It is not always possible that students give an open feedback… A teacher has to go beyond, somewhere deep inside those Silent Eyes.

It was my second day at work, first class an introductory class gave students the assurance that something unpredictably amusing lies ahead. Their first impression about this new lecturer was positive but a teacher is tested daily at times by those Silent Eyes

During my Masters I was taught the essential teaching tips… The most important of all being ‘Prepare well for the Class’. New Job, New Schedule and I didn’t do justice when I dealt with the first topic… I remember when I was a student I suffered, I underwent the torture of bad explanation. Sadly, no teacher read my Silent Eyes… And now when I am on the other side, I could relate myself with the students.

Those Silent Eyes say it all, the doubts which are there, the thoughts going on...

The tenses I taught that day made the students all the more tensed… I wasn’t well prepared… After that hour I realized the importance of the position I hold… A little bit of self introspection helped me figure out the right & simple ways of teaching and reading those Silent Eyes… The next day, I repeated the same topic, I was confident about what I was teaching and those Silent Eyes expressed Satisfaction of good learning.

It is not always possible for people to say it in words… A little understanding of those deep, Silent emotions give a better insight of things which words can never express.

We are often influenced by our Teachers, would you like to share your experience?
