Tata Group.

The Tata group still carries the vestiges from the bygone socialist era.

The Tata group of companies are aptly referred to as the box-wallah companies for continuing to retain their regressive socialist culture.

The TATA group is the Chinese version of capitalism or state controlled capitalism.

Most people fail to see through this reality.

The TATA group is without doubt the biggest example of oligarchy of our times.

Most certainly this group is involved in a lot of philanthropic work. Also this group has a lot of stakeholders. However, so does Microsoft. End of the day what matters is the genuineness behind it’s initiatives & intent. Shedding the boxwallah image & embracing the free market economy wholeheartedly will straightaway take this group to another league. However, that is unacceptable and beyond the realm of imagination of it’s current & wouldbe dispensation.

Also mixing business with nationalism or nationalistic pride is nothing else but opportunism and extremely poor public relation management in the long run.

Someone out there may question what about Tata institue of fundamental sciences, Tata Cance Institute, Tata Institute of Social Science. innumerable charities, scholarships, .. grants.

I agree, on the face of it, they simply look great.

However, why did the Tata Nano car project fail? ... Greed perhaps!

Why did the drinking water for 1000 Rs become a even more horrible failure? .... :-))))

Why did low cost housing of Tata’s at Boisar not enthuse many.

I agree dole-outs are only what are our society expects.

Our society cannot comprehend the need to separate management from ownership.

Our society cannot comprehend that being a professional market driven company or group, the Tata group can deliver much more.

Nepotism and feudal order is what we are groomed to accept from day one.

If the Tata's take corrective steps in the above areas it can not only contribute much more to society, we can also proudly claim that we truly have a great worldclass MNC from India.

Unfortunately, being selfish is requires spine. Being a pseudo and practising the socialistic version of capitalism is a more convenient option as far as the Tata group is concerned.

Tata’s surely know that they practise a inferior and regressive style of management. That makes their case even more unforgivable.
