“My Last Visions” - the short film directed by award winning short filmmaker Varun Mehta is all set to hit the Internet World on 11th of July 2015. The short film is based on a social issue of child safety and tries to spread awareness about Child Trafficking - A sensitive problem that’s getting bigger day by day.
Yet the filmmaker claims that the film doesn’t get preachy. Mehta said “My Last Visions is a colourful short film, yes it’s an issue based film and that too an Important one but we do not try to preach anything. We have kept the ending of the film opened leaving to viewer’s imagination. Yet we also don’t hide about discussing a sensitive issue. It’s about how you take it up. A short film? Or a Preachy film?
These days Shorts are getting popular on Social Platforms with a major chunk of Social Websites spreading links of Social Based Films. Mehta considers this a positive sign. I think it’s great, With the recent development of the new era of Social Sites like Scoopwhoop, Indiatimes etc, Short Films are getting good exposure which can further help the filmmakers in delivering better content in future also evolving much possibilities.
My Last Visions was nominated to be screened at PSA Film Festival in Chennai last year. It also received the honors to be in best top 10 films in last year’s Indi.com Short Film Competition. Varun now gears up his next animation film ‘The Hope’ to be followed by another unnamed animated feature to be released soon.
