A few months back, the review of esteemed MS member, Javeed Ahmed M (JAMS) was recognized as Review of the Day which told us a lot about the beauty of Lotus Pond Park situated at the heart of Hyderabad. Myself being a Hyderabadi now, could hardly resist visiting such a beautiful place in my own city. However I could not do it for many months.
In June 2010, I happened to meet a MS member, Khalid Khan (bkaks) for the first time He gave me the phone no. of JAMS and thereafter I talked to him a couple of times. Finally, yesterday I decided to visit Lotus Pond and rang JAMS for guidance. He guided me over phone, send me two M2Ms giving complete map to reach there from my place (BHEL, Lingampally) and the details of other places that I could visit with my family.
I don't use car much in this city because of the traffic which is horrible (especially in my area and nearby). I prefer local train (called MMTS) to reach different places. However today there was no option but to go by car. We could start only at 7.40 a.m. Finding our way with the help of the guidance received from JAMS and asking different people that we came across on the roads during the journey, we happened to reach Jagannath Temple first. It's a very very beautiful temple with idols on the walls telling different anecdotes from the Indian mythology. We wished, we could spend more time there. However, since JAMS had told us that morning time to visit Lotus Pond is only 7 a.m.-10 a.m., we moved back in the direction of Lotus Pond.
Finally we reached there but by that time, JAMS had gone back, completing his routine morning walk which lasts upto 8.30 a.m. alongwith his wife. That's why we could not meet his Bhabhi. Anyway, upon knowing from me over phone that we had arrived, he immediately reached Lotus Pond. By that time, we were enjoying the eternal beauty of this underrated place. The beautiful lotuses standing with their heads high in the pond are able to win any aesthetic person's heart. The circular path surrounding the pond is full of greenery and flora with some wooden bridges and machans, flowing water and natural milieu. So beautiful that my son and daughter (me too) were not at all willing to leave this place for hours. However we had to adhere to the timings.
Before that, I had some talks with JAMS. Thereafter he guided us to a restaurant near the Hyderabad Central because of non-availability of any reasonably charging restaurant in the vicinity of Lotus Pond. My son travelled with him in his car while we followed by our car. JAMS had already had his breakfast and we too were in no mood to eat much. However children are, after all, children. So JAMS, myself and my wife took coffee while eatables were arranged for my mother and my children.
JAMS gifted my children sweets and chocolates. We exchanged views regarding personal life, professional life and of course, MS. It's a pleasure to meet him. Now I can say that JAMS is a gem of a person. And anybody living in Hyderabad or visiting Hyderabad, should not miss making at least one visit to Lotus Pond Park which takes the visitor near to the Mother Nature.
