Our mother tongue is hindi and it is also my favourite language.It is an language which we should be proud of,it is a language which we should not feel ashamed to speak,it is the language which represent our country,our religion,culture,in a nutshell almost everything.We have our most sacred books written in this language.But inspite of that why do people feel ashamed to speak in their mother tongue,it is because India is such a vast country with so many religion and culture,every state has a differant language which people feel more comfortable speaking in or its just our insecurities or a need to show off which makes people speak in english in today's time.I live in Bangalore and I don't see people responding to you when you speak in hindi,they don't like to talk in that language,i am writing this diary because I want to know that in order to give prominence to their own language or because the people living In differant states don't feel the need to speak hindi language bacause they have their own native language where does all this leave our national language HINDI?Why don't we have our Miss India contest in hindi,all awards function in hindi,after all when the Miss World And Miss Universe contest happen,the contestants come from all over the world and most of them talk or give their answers in their mother tongue and they have a translator then why can't we do the same,is it because most of our contestants can barely speak in hindi.I think its high time Hindi is given more prominence in our country and we give more respect to our national language then looking down upon it.Its a duty of every Indian not to shy away from speaking in hindi.
