Last week I ended up watching the movie ' Oh My God". Though I knew it was a satire I had till date not been able to watch it completely. Actually I loved the movie very much, but what haunted me at the end of the movie was one line by the Swamiji played by Mithun Chakravorthy to Paresh Rawal's character. It goes something like this " Dont think you have won, we have more God fearing people than God Loving people in this world, so they will definetely come back to us"
So what is this difference between God fearing and God loving people and why do we have more God fearing people than God loving people.
God as told by generations is someone who is observing us from top, looking at each of our moves and ready to punish us if we dont show obedience to him. Hence a culture is created of going to religious places, doing pujas, havans, giving doodh, coconut, flowers, money etc.. to religious places to ensure that God is kept always pleased. We believe if we dont do these things, his wrath can come on us. Since we cannot see God, we try to see people who claim to have seen God as Godmen and believe that serving these people is equal to serving God. So the entire premise of our worship in religious places is based on fear or we want to get something from God.
Now let us consider the second category of people ie God Loving. Their basic characteristic is that they are not afraid of God. They believe to see God you dont have to go to religious places. God is always there with them as a friend and guide. Whenever they are in confusion they leave the final decision to God as they believe God cannot harm them. Whatever God is giving them, he has kept something good for them. They knew that the real reason why certain thing happened in their life will be revelead in future by God himself. But the problem is it is really tough to walk this path especially when things are not going as you expected. But if you succeed in going that path once you will never ever take the God fearing path.
So which path you want to take, the easy God fearing path which will always bind you to religious places and God men or the difficult God loving path which can liberate you once and all from all religious dogmas and can give you eternal peace of mind.
