EACH IS AN INMATE OF THE PRISON (A POEM)
Each is an inmate of the prison he creates
For himself in his mind so effortlessly,
The key to unlock which, only he holds!
To turn the key is merely his own function,
At the time of his choosing and volition
And realization of necessity and urgency.
Alas, too often we love our prison confines
And tell others how miserable we are like they,
How unkind life is and shall always be as now.
Thus we evolve a new philosophy of misery,
A creed of darkness of the darkest nights
To spread like a giant cloud to blot the sky!
Only the wise and the well informed know
That to turn the key is a matter of a moment;
But who will listen to wise men these days!
