The feeling, I know you, yes! I have seen you somewhere, have we met?Do I know u? And so on. I always wonder why we get this feeling.
If we know someone, we know, but if we don’t remember, what’s the point in asking? Let the sleeping dogs lie.
Somehow I have been haunted by this particular syndrome of others, all my life, hence I am déjà vu phobic. I have lost the count, how many times I have been asked “Hum pehle kahin mile hain?” , “Do I know you?” arrghhhh. “if you would have known me, you wouldn’t have dared to ask this question dear!!”.
I even thought am I prosopagnosic or do I suffer from face blindness, thankfully I do remember all the faces I have met or I know.
Recently, an irresistible 40% off sale on Bombay dyeing dragged me to its showroom with a friend. Of course, the focus was on the best picks, before anyone else puts their hands on it. But somewhere, two eyes were pricking on my back, two eyes following me, slowly I felt like I m in a haunted sale. I tried my level best to ignore those, but nothing seemed to work.
Finally I reached the billing counter with my friend, and saw the two haunting eyes with two more standing there, staring me. Finally I looked at them. And I got my first shot I mean the shock.
“Do I know you?”
“No” .It was a warning! Samajhdaar ko ishaara kaafi tha, but woh samajhdaar nahi thi....
“Aapko kahin dekha hai!”
Ok that’s it... now it’s Showtime
“hmmm, TV par dekha hoga”
“Really? Aap TV par aati hain?”
I looked at her, gave her a smile and looked away, at my friend, who was on verge of fainting. Ok, pushing the billing process would be wise thing.
“Aap serials mein aati hain ya show host karti hain?”
She needed further dose.
I gave her another meaningful smile.
She was waiting eagerly for me to reply.
Finally billing was done, moving towards the door, I looked at her and replied
“Aapki galti nahi hai, aajkal bahut saare serials aate hain TV par” and rushed out, running for my life, as my friend was after me to kill me for this.
Now, I am still wondering which serial she might have thought me to be in, since I am not a serial killer, may be u all can guess and enlighten me. :)
