Nothing Beats a Cookie Man Cookie.
That's what they say. Well what ‘They’ did’nt hear was that “NOTHING BEATS THE MS CAT, CATTIE” !!!!!! Hmm!!!!!!! Agree with me on that U guys????????
Well, I was busy last week with Tours to Chennai & Tambaram. As usual, I don’t normally come back from a tour without my ‘Santa Clauz’ baggage.
At the airport, I had lots of time, as my flight was not yet announced for Boarding, So I strutted up & down, wondering what to Buy More !!!!!!!!!
And then I saw this stall ‘COOKIE MAN – COOKIES’. I went over to this stall & was observing all the trays inside, deciding what to buy. Some of them had the plastic labels on the trays, while some did not have any!!! I looked up at this store keeper & he had this Grumpy Mean look on his face. Something told me “Cattie, walk away & have some Coffee instead !!!!!!!”, but I was a bit hungry & cannot resist the ‘Choco Chip’ and ‘Honey and Oats’ Cookies and the ‘Banana Walnut’ Muffins. So I thought of picking up a small box of these treasures to eat at home.
I asked the ‘grumpy’ guy, “What’s this?” and “What’s this?” as they were no labels & naturally I have to ask na? This guy was so crude!! He answered me as if I was asking for his Son’s hand in marriage !!!!! He mumbled the names of each Cookie I was pointing at & honestly he put me off !!!!!!!!!
Then I ordered my Goodies Bag with my fav stuff in & I saw this guy putting them into an ordinary Plastic bag’ & giving me!!! I said “Hey, don’t u have a decent Cookie Man paper box, to put it inside decently for me to carry?”. He grumbled & almost yelled at me that the paper boxes were only for many items. And I cud see that there were small & big boxes, but this guy was too damn lazy to make the box for me. But I insisted he give me, my stuff, in a Cookie Man paper box.
The bill was 210/-. I paid him the cash, took my Cookie box was walked away. Suddenly it struck me that I shud have taken the bill, to attach it, to my Tour Bill, when I get back to office. Then, realized that the Meany guy had not given me my bill. So I went back hurriedly & asked him for the bill. He coolly printed the bill & gave me & then ignored me as if I was some zombie & was attending to another elderly couple.
I looked at the counter and saw a Sign Board with words ‘If You don’t get a Bill, your Purchases are Free’. So I interrupted his next transaction & said to him “Hey Mister, did u see this sign here?? It says, “If No Bill, Purchases are Free. So kindly return me my cash of 210/-. Immediately his face became all red & purple & he realized he was in a fix, so he tried ‘Scaring ‘ me away by shouting that he has ‘Forgotten’ to give the bill, so now that he had given me the bill, take it and go !!!.
THAT WAS ENOUGH TO BRING OUT MY CAT CLAWS !!!!! I sharpened them & put the Cookie Bag on his counter. I repeated my request, but they guy was 2 much, he refused to budge & told me to ‘GO’ !!!!!! I looked at him Sternly & told him “Are u going to give me my money back, or shud I call the Airport Authorities to help me”. Still he refused to accept his mistake & argued with me, using Tamil words (Gawd Knows he must have been abusing me in Tamil!!). I told him “Aye Mister, This Signboard here is put up by your Management ‘Cookie Man’. It says clearly, that If a Bill is not given, the Purchases are Free. Now u better give me my money back or I will call up your Cookie Man Office & report this incident”.
The elderly couple standing beside me, also took up for me & told him that I was right. So with great disgust & some more Tamil words, he took out the 210/- from the cash box & banged it on the counter. I picked it up, gave him another stern look & walked to my Boarding Gate.
U know many top brand food store are putting up these signs of “No Bill, and Your Purchases are Free”. Its because these store guys must be cheating & putting the cash into their pockets !!!! If they punch in the bill, it gets recorded & at the end of the day, they have to account for the sales made. So they don’t give the bills & customers are always in a hurry & don’t bother about bills, especially at Malls & Airports.
I remembered the Diary Post one of my friends had written “CONSUMER, FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS”. And Well I am happy to say that that Dairy Post came into good use for me.
And So the Cat with a grin on her face happily trotted away, having won a ‘Consumer Battle’ .
And Hooray!!!!! CATTIE HAD A GOODIE ‘COOKIE MAN’ BOX, TOTALLY FREE!!!!
U bet, I enjoyed every bit of those delicious cookies!!!!! U See, I did tell that guy “NOBODY MESSES WITH THIS CAT” !!!!!hehehe!!
