An Usual Late-Lateef............

By: chalojai | Posted Apr 18, 2011 | The Art of Living | 790 Views

Oh,I'm late again! The very thing I hate most and want to avoid at any cost. Was it my fault? Not actually. My alarm bell rang at time early in the morning,it was my hubby who switched it off. Why,he has no household work at that time,it's me who has to do lots of things....... preparing breakfast, getting our lunch box ready, and cursing the maid who didn't arrive at time- everything altogether, just an excellent example of multitasking! Glanced at the wall clock,oh my god,it's almost eight! Now I have to rush, otherwise I will be very late. As usual, gave some instruction to the maid, said a quick goodbye to my hubby and almost rolled down the stairs carrying a huge bundle of things.....I can arrange them later on my way!

Somehow reached the bus stop just at the time, the bus was ready to leaved. Elbowed my way into the crowd, pushed my bag and umbrella on the dash-borad somehow, managed a seat on the gearbox. A lady from next door was standing nearby, she started chatting with me...........now how much irritated I feel, but I have to continue the conversation! Followed by the the jerking of the bus and periodical "Dhakka" from fellow passengers, have to spend almost an hour in this condition! How nice it would be if she was not there and I got the chance to concentrate on my presentation! Uff!

When I got down, drenched with sweat and fuming in silent anger, the pressure already started building up in my mind.....Today I have a presentation in which I have to perform very well,otherwise...ohh,I can't stand the look of disgust from my bossie! I didn't have the time to grab a cup of tea also,I was already 5 minutes late for the event. Almost raced down the corridor towards the conference room............Don't know how the next few hours passed. Well,They clapped and said cheering words to me,but I had a feeling that if I arrived a little bit earlier,I would have done much well. Now sitting in my cubicle, and brooding over those things ............... if I would have got up in time; if the maid would arrive in time; if I would have prepared some easy-to-cook recipe; if I would have enough time to catch the bus scheduled before the one I got............. So many "If"s,but equally useless now,as I have lost the opportunity already!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now tell me,how many of you fit into the exact category of "Late -Lateef"? I hope most of us are not methodical enough to arrange everything on time, they finally end up being late for at least one thing every day. Postponing work, avoiding pressure, wasting time on useless things - these three factors contribute to the time lapse. If we have to be on time,we just have to stay away from these factors. Well in advance we have to chalk out the plan of getting things into order. If you have some important work in the morning, start preparing from the previous night. Finish all pending works, get your bag packed and dresses ready so that you don't have to search for them in the morning. Prepare some easy recipe for breakfast and lunch so you don't have to spend much time on cooking. Don't interact much with people on your way to some presentation so that you can stay composed enough.......... It's something called "Time-management" which saves a lot of efforts and time too. All we have to plan our things well, being late for anything is just not good. Next time I become late for something, I don't have the chance to reverse it anyway. So be careful, the time is precious, but the time wasted for nothing is even more valuable! Hope you don't find the article boring; and also,I hope it doesn't make u late for some important work!!!
