Voltas 1.5 ton split AC PATHETIC PERFORMANCE

I have purchased Voltas 1.5 ton split AC  on March 15 at Baroda., The  compressor makes so much noise that it has to be placed full 23 feet away to get some respite from noise. Now how many apartments in big cities have the luxury of having so much space? I


t was impossible to sleep when it was placed at normal 12 feet distance from the cooling unit, so had to put it rapt 22-23 feet distance, in the terrace, resulting in lots of extra expenditure and now noise in  my bedroom Gris tolerable, but it has been transferred to my neighbor's home. Moreover, the terrace is almost unusable due to constant high pitched noise so my terrace  is spoiled.


Voltas service people  say that this much level of noise is normal. As a result of extending the length, cooling efficiency has reduced drastically. The only remedy is replacing the compressor unit, which they have flatly refused.


Online complaints and feedback gets me only the complaint number and assurance  that it will be attended  on urgent basis, but absolutely no action, only empty words so far. Their service people are very charming but their hands  seem to be tied


Hence,  the potential buyers be better careful before buying this AC . Their claims are definitely not met in my case.

I ve been using Voltas AC for the last 4 years. 3 of my friends are also using this. None has reported any major problem yet. except poor service.


Even I acknowledge that outsourcing of after sale service by Voltas is not good idea. Its bringing bad name to Voltas. Therefore company should deploy its own staff for after sales service instead of outsourcing.!


I freeze at 30 deg C set temperature

My window AC compressor runs for a very long time before it cuts off even when the set temp is 30 deg C. Then it turns on again after a very short time. This happens at any set temperature. I have got the thermostat examined by your authorised service center. They tell me it is A GENERIC PROBLEM WITH Voltas window AC and I will have to live with it. Is it true? My AC is about 2 years old.Is there a solution?


The net result is I freeze when the compressor is on, until the compressor switches off.


So I thought I could find some answers in the operating manual. I was shocked to see that the operating manual has such atrocious english language as if it were written by a 5 year old.


I was advised by some one working in Voltas not to buy a Voltas AC but I thought that Tata would not make an inferior product. I was sadly mistaken.


NEVER AGAIN VOLTAS AC.

I would like to talk about the biggest mistake I did by purchasing a Voltas 1.5 Ton Window A/C. I Bought the A/C in November 2012 and in 2013 April, there was a gas leakage. I called the customer care and they said that the technician will visit in 24 to 48 hours. No one called and visited. I again called on the 3rd days and was told that someone will contact in next 24 hrs. Now this was a pain.


Then I was myself forced to call a local vendor and got the problem fixed. Again in june 2014 the same problem occurred. I called Voltas customer care, ok Let me tell you, its so horrible to speak on Voltas customer care as they don't understand you and neither you can understand them. Finally a technician visited my place after three days without calling and taking the time prior. Anyway, he came, checked and said that there will be charge of 4500/- for cooling coil and 1500/- for gas filling and 350/- visit charge and another 300/- for servicing. I said that I already got the servicing done a month back but he said no we will again do it. I then asked him to show me the price list so that I can verify the charges to which he first refused and then with a big heart he gave me the price list. There are a price difference in the rates which he told compare to the price list. I asked for the reason so he said no what I am telling you in the correct rate.


I then called the customer care to verify the charges and they said that they only have information of gas leakage charge of 1500/- and rest they don't have any information. Now please tell me can I buy a voltas brand in my life or will I recommend it to anyone.  I am ashamed of myself that I didn't check the customer service level of the Brand before buy the product. I will not suggest anyone to buy a Voltas product in life unless someone wants to cry sitting at home of wasting their hard earned money.


Long live Voltas- They shall make Tata proud!!!!

I had made the mistake of buying a trusted brand like Voltas on 20th June. The AC was installed on 22nd June at my clinic. The AC worked fine for 4 days and then stopped cooling. We had paid 1500 rupees as installation charges.


The engineer from company came and saw the Ac and said everything is fine with AC and there is a leak in the internal piping. He filled the AC with gas and told us to wait and watch. The Ac worked fine for 7 days and after that stopped cooling. We complained on 21st July and heard from the company after repeated reminder again on 28th July( after an interval of 7 days; so much so for 24X7 service; you are doing TATAs proud!).


The engineer had a look and said everything is fine and it shall have to be reinstalled. The team reinstalled the AC on 30th July evening( after gap of 2 days and in peak working hours of clinic!). They charged me Rs 1750 again for re installation.


Today is 2nd August and AC s not cooling again. AC bought; wasted one month; energy and money. Installed twice; paid twice for no fault of mine. Made hole in the wall for reinstalling when none was needed.


Peak summers and new AC not working in the clinic of doctor. Shame on the doctor!

We bought voltas 1.5  split ac in 2012 from the begining it had the sound problem, we called the call center and they responded immediately buy sending some good for nothing service men. He said it was a voltage problem We called up another technician he said it could be compressor problem .We again called up the call center . they sent the service man promptly but good for nothing men, they removed our compressor for replacement in peak of summer and replaced it after 15 days  after repeated phone calls to service point .after fitting the ac its is still not working properly we are fed up we looking forward to sewing  them up in consumer forum. Why insult India with the caption 'India's AC'. Bloody frauds! The whole brand should be banded

Voltas the Good for Nothing Product

The Voltas 185 MY AC is good for nothing, just a waste of money. The icing on cake is that since 2weeks no one has come for servicing.


Be careful before buying a Voltas product.


The cooling is like room cooler.


The service is pathetic.


The noise is much more than described on the brochure. One should think again before buying a Voltas ac.

This review is to highlight the pathetic service by Voltas. It seems they are just not bothered about their customers once the product is sold.


I had a relocation request, it was not even about an issue in the product, the AC was to be uninstalled from my old house and reinstalled in my new house. For both this I made a request and specified dates for both actions respectively.


I had to make a continuous followup in both the cases i.e for un installation and installation. My installation is not yet done, it was scheduled on 01st June, it is 4th June today and still no one has come to install. In spite calling the customer care and the service center daily.


For un installation the technician had finally come on the 4th day after the scheduled date again after calling continuously . I wonder what kind of service the company is providing to its customers, its like they are not even bothered.


The tata companies are known for their great products and even greater customer focus, but with this experience of mine all those beliefs have been shattered. The product is no doubt good but if you are going to buy any voltas product then bid a goodbye to customer service because I don't think Voltas as a company knows what customer service means neither their employees looks at customer feedback.


Look elsewhere if you are particular about customer service.

Voltas 185MY Window AC -A Desert Cooler

Hi, I "am" a proud owner of Voltas 1 ton windo AC bought 2 years back. Because of this I went on to buy another 1.5 ton Window AC from Voltas 185MY for my other room. To my surprise, "I am proud" changed to "I was proud" of Voltas AC.


Its hardly 10-12 days since the AC has been installed by VOLTAS service engineers vide request no. 14051200664. Since day 1, the AC is working like my desert cooler. Cooling effet is minimum. Even after running for whole nigt, the AC didnt give me the chill I expect from a 1.5 ton AC provided I am experiencing the same in my 1 ton AC.


When I set the desired temperature to 25degC, the room temp doesn't go below 30degC even after running for whole night. This results in continuous running of compressor & hence higher current consumption & huge electricity bill(This is a 5 star rated AC)


I complained at Voltas care and a person visited my house yesterday(request no. 14052602777). He inspected everything, even my 1 ton AC cooling vs new 1.5 ton cooling. He agreed that cooling is not as it should have been. But when it came to writing report, he refused and said product is fine. There is air leakage from doors. I was surprised as every AC installed in a room has some doors and windows.Even, he failed to show me compressor cutoff even after setting temperature at 30degC & room temperature was also 30degC.


I fail to understand a Voltas product installed by Voltas technician inspected by Voltas service engineer is not working properly.


We, 3 friends, bought 3 ACs of same model and have same problem - Cooling effect. I am ready to even sell it off if anybody is ready to buy it at may be 500-100 Rs less.Pissed off by the poor product quality.

If you are considering to buy any product of Voltas, you can be assured of spending more time regretting the decision. And if you have chosen Voltas Vertis Gold AC then you have divorced your peace, happiness and money. Voltas shall mint money from you at every given opportunity. They won't provide you installation facility or shall charge separately (carrying and installation cost).

We bought Voltas windows AC 20 days back from Faridabad local dealer. I am highly disappointed. First there was no remote found in box and also PCB board was missing. Which was replaced then. Next day because AC was not fitted properly by engineer my window glass broke and I had to replace it.


And since yesterday AC compressor is making loud noise. Its next to impossible to sleep with AC on. We bought product thinking voltas is market leader for AC and keeping TATA trust worthy image. But it turned to be the worst experience.

Unsatified With Voltas Service

I had purchased a Voltas 1.5 ton window A/C model no. 185 DX on 26th March 2014 from an authorised store in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. The unpacking and installation of the AC was done by Voltas representatives. On opening the packaging, they discovered that the front grill of the AC is broken.


They asked me to call the customer care to register a complaint, which I did that day itself. A couple of days later, a few guys from Voltas turned up, clicked a few pictures of the broken grill and promised that they will come back in a few days with the correct piece. But no one turned up.


Aghast, I called up the customer care again 3 weeks later. Again they they sent over a couple of guys who again clicked a few pictures and went back, but nothing happened again. Today I called up the customer care and they said that they are still unable to find a replacement.


I have absolutely no idea what Voltas is doing for the last 2 months. Either they should replace the defective part, or else replace the AC.

Waste of Money & Time For Getting Service Done

It is highly disappointing that the company is in the no.1 position because of customers like me. But the after sales service of the company is very pathetic. I have lodged a complaint (14040908762) and almost after completion of more than three weeks they are not able to provide the service even under warranty period.


Authorities and Dealer of the company are not cooperating and insisting to take the service from the shop from from where the AC was purchase.


Non Cooperation of the Company / Dealer / Authorities of the company is highly humiliating and compelling me to go to the Consumer Forum.

VOLTAS has the worst customer service that I have come across in today's time. I raised a request in the customer care centre on 5/4/2014 for AC service and was told I will get a call form technician in 24 hrs. NO CALL till 8/4/2014. I again called the customer centre on 8/4/2014 for a followup. Again the same reply-you will get a call in 24 hours.


NO CALL till 9/4/2014I again called the customer centre and get the same reply again but this time they just said you will get the call -NO DEADLINE! You can get a call might be in the next winter or summer who knows. But you will surely get a call! Dont know how many times I need to call them before I see any technician. Moreover, they are not ready to transfer the call to the concerned department or give the details of any technician.


STRANGE VOLTAS! NO ONE SHOULD GO FOR IT!

Problem began since installation

I purchased 2.0 T SPL 243 EX Voltas AC  in last week of July 2013. The technicians who came for the installation could not  start the AC as installed  Unit was defective. After fifteen days of installation,   water starting  flowing along the wall  [ due to increased out door humidity].


The complaint was again made and astonishingly  the service Centre informed the indoor unit was placed incorrectly  and was not horizontal. Again rectified. After another fifteen days the unit stopped working, compliant was once again  lodged. The service engineer came and told that the compressor is out - of order.


I am still not sure whether the Allahabad Service Centre( s) & dealers of Voltas AC are sensitive enough   to protect image of the AC  manufactured by none other than the Tatas. Frequent emails and calls  dont attract their attention. Earlier our family used to sweat because of heat & humidity now we are sweating through the embarrassment by local service centers and dealer.

I am totally surprised & upset after buying this AC from Reliance Digital.


The next day itself I started getting multiple issues.




  1. Beep Sound coming Continuously




  2. Machine immediately runs to Turbo mode




  3. The Technician has not set the Fan and so it is obstructing again and again




  4. The Technicians are totally sick




  5. No one yet has come for Demo






I am really tired of this and no one has resolved my issue


If by any chance you do not replace Or Refund me my Money back, I will be taking this matter to Police & Grievance Forum

Customer support needs to change with immediate effect. It's essential for sales support. Personally, I faced service related issues. I had raised this to regional manager, North Delhi but he had not responded me. Politely ignored me !!!!!!!


Not picking my phone and not replying to my mails. Mumbai sales diving of other product helped me fix my problem.


I want to meet & speak to the R.M. and not the Customer Service Team.

Never buy voltas. Horrible equipment, low quality parts. Very poor service back up and most of the times is attended by untrained persons who mess up with the appliance.


No response from company personal being sold by the goodwill of the TATAs but it throws hot air most of the time and there is no one to find out why. Every time a new person comes and changes a part without necessity. It is true for all the voltas machines.

I purchased a Voltas AC just 20 days back. Soon after it started giving problems.


The AC was not functioning properly, initially I thought that may be due to extreme temperature the cooling is not proper. But even after temperature in Delhi dropped the AC is not doing proper cooling.


I made a complaint and engineer visited the premises. he told there is a gas problem in AC. He filled the gas, but even after that the cooling is not upto the standard.


Now the company is saying that this is the best cooling effect I will get from my AC. I bought voltas thinking that it is a TATA enterprise and would be trust worthy.


Buying a normal cooler would have provided better cooling than this AC

I bought Voltas 1.5 Ton Window Platinum 5S AC on 12th May, 2013. I am staying on Top Floor. Room size is 154 sq feet. On 1st day, I set the temperature on 20 degree but after 3 hrs room temperature was 24 degree. I called Customer care very next day. they gave me complaint number and told me engineer will visit within 24 hours.


Next day, engineer(not look like engineer at all) came and checked the current and watt and said AC is working fine. But when I asked him why its not providing the enough cooling and the reply which came is "Sir, Garmi bahut zyada ha to AC kya karega" After hearing this, I just thought who hired this guy as engineer. In fact, he said that if u set the temp at 20 it will not go less than 22 degree. Just gave some more idiotic logic and left.


Guys, please suggest what to do.
