Voltas is a very poor/ cheap quality company I bought window ac which is used not more than 3 months and its compressor was damaged after that I make a complaint but now after 15 days there is no replacement of compressor and my ac as it is there was no any customer support service?


I hope all of you better understand that how cheap/ghatiya company is it and its customer service just forget that it will heard any of your complaint. So all of my friends don’t buy any product of Voltas.

I bought a Voltas window AC 1.5 Ton on 6th May /13 from Atlantic Retail Store Rajouri Garden Delhi.


It was installed on the same day , First Day cooling was very less they send someone who checked & made some changes put it on Turbo it worked fine for few hours  but again it stopped working . Called Customer service Tech Came & Found AC is Damage .....:(


Swing feature not working & He Found Entire Ac needs to replace because they cannot replace one part as it is joined with others. So I have to wait till 13th May  Almost 1 week for replacement & Called Retail Store Atlantic Rajouri Garden , Got a very good response we are closed on Wednesday .


Very Poor Services from voltas & From Atlantic Retail Store.


Will give you update how things works after Replacement , Also I am not sure if they will give New Ac or Refurbished one as a Replacement.

I am totally frustrated by the after sales service that voltas provides.I had called for a service of my AC on 11/4/2013 but still now no one has come for it. Instead, they have cancelled my ticket on their own for which I do not find any reason.My ticket number is 13AP1106304.


I have been trying to reach out to customer care but they only assure me of timely service. Truly speaking, I have never seen such unprofessional attitude anywhere.It is really pathetic. Please do not buy Voltas AC..Go for some brand like LG who do care for their customers..

Worst customer service ever!

I unfortunately bought a 1ton VOLTAS ac in march 2013. in about 15 days it stopped cooling. I called the customer service of Voltas 18004254555 on the 13th April 2013, which is specifically registered as a Toll Free no. and that's where the lies start. u pay for the call.


I registered my complaint and was told that it would be attended to in 48 hrs. Its 7 days now and they tell me my complaint will be forwarded to the concerned department, details which they don't have.


They don't know which department they are forwarding my enquiry to and they don't know why my complaint was not attended to! Meanwhile I left with a 1 ton ac n sweating in the heat...

Worst customer after sales service I havever seen. I hav almost all brand products in my home. Believe me sony, whirlpool, LG after sale service are really much better than tata. ether it my bad luck or worst case scenario I have voltas split ac. I am facing worst service care from voltas.


It is not first time. I have plcaed a service request for reinstallation of ac (my complaint no. 13MR0704953, latest for the same product others are 13MR0704953, 13FB1000543) but till now not single technician has attended my need. Now I am regretting my decision of going along the so called best brand. Thank you voltas for your best after sale  customer service. Ratanaji If by chance(?) if you get to read this just understand how is your company is performing???

I am aware that all the TATA products are as good as any other locally assembled products. Unfortunately I was gifted Voltas Vertis Split 1.5 Ton 5 STAR AC costing 33000 this April 12 and I was confident from day one I got it installed that it will surely give me a nightmare sooner or later as My experience with its refrigerators was worst (Thankfully company finally realised their capabilities and stopped manufacturing them.) Just after two months of installation using for mere 5 hrs a night it broke down in peak month of summer in Delhi "the July". It took 16 days of my sleepless nights to get it fixed via complaint number (12JU2905453) by the pathetic service center and their unprofessional servicing Vendors.


I was shocked to see that the components inside the indoor unit were all Chinese and were of really cheap quality. What is the benefit of buying from TATA if still we are getting the cheap Chinese components in return. It took 8 locally trained TATA astronouts (not engineers) to find the problem and fix it including mine 100 calls to their Chennai Call center who always feel helpless to help customers. My Hitachi AC which revolves 15 hrs a day is running fine for last 2 yrs.


My purpose of writing this review is that please go either for Hitachi or O General or any other Japnese Brand and steer clear of Voltas for sure. Else buy at your own risk.

Here is my update on the below mentioned experience. The AC started rattling badly on 10th July morning and I decided to hire help from outside. Fortunately, Voltas management noticed my review on Mouthshut.com and I was contacted by their service manager Ashok Asija. A time was fixed and he was present with his technicians at the fixed time. However there was no power and they have to go back. Power returned at 9:30pm and within 10 minutes they appeared again. The technician was a real technician for a change. He was able to spot root cause and performed adjustments in torquing of mounting to achieve minimal level of vibration. The missing rubber cap was replaced. The AC is working as of now. My opinion is confirmed yesterday that the management doesn't have issues. The issues are with dealer service TAT(turnaround time) and service quality. I was advised to install another MCB at the power socket which I will install this Saturday. So shall I recommend Voltas AC?Well, If you are buying a second AC and have contingency, you may. I do not have data to pose a recommendation for any brand.


To write this, I am keeping my frustration and emotions on one side. Else ill just lose my temper. I purchased Voltas Wrac Gold AC from Efficient cooling systems in Gurgaon on 27th of May 2012. The dealer was easily approachable, located near my sector and installed the AC within 2-3 hours of my call. He even accepted cash on delivery and I was delighted. The package included a voltas voltage stabilizer named crystal clear. The installation was done promptly and without any damages to my rented home. The sealing around the AC was done with putty and it looked like hundreds of chewing gums chewed and pasted on top edge. The guy was unaware of the concept of silicon and he was not a technician. He took nearly 4 hours to make this chewing gum installation and left two edges unattended. Thus, it was not sealed properly. The plug of AC was cut and wires directly installed in stabilizer. The cut plug was used on stabilizer to the mains and there was a joint in the wire which was done using "bijli ka tape" meaning electric taping The same dreaded night, the stabilizer released a burning odor and shut down, burned a few wires in the socket. The next day, dealer promptly and I appreciate, replaced the stabilizer for free.


I asked for a proper fitting on wires which the AC electrician refused. I paid him 50 bucks to get  a 15A plug and fix the wires without joint, which he did. After nearly one month, On 2nd July the AC compressor started tripping. It wouldn’t  work at all and won’t cool. A complaint was lodged in morning with number 12JL0300242. The call center claimed that the person will come within the day. No one came. Next day, no one came. Finally, after making around 10-15 calls to the dealer directly a junior technician was sent. I reached from office at 12:30 noon and the person arrived at 3:00pm. Include many calls in between. He claimed that AC has no issue and our power line neutral is lose. He started packing, but I did not let him go. I immediately called an electrician and he checked all lines. Nothing was wrong. Finally, my electrician checked the AC as well and concluded that its compressor is not working. Thus, the voltas guy left claiming a senior technician will appear. No one appeared. Call center was clueless as I called technician directly through dealer. Frustrated, I went to another AC service center of voltas. The manager blasted the call center guys and gave me the number of regional manager as well as area manager. My wife called area manager Mr. Arora, and he promised to get this sorted within next day. He transferred our complaint from Efficient cooling system to BalaJi services.


Next day, after many calls to Arora the AC guys come to take the AC at 7:30 PM. However, Arora mostly attended our calls during this period. The AC was serviced and brought back to us next day evening 6:30pm, again after a many calls. The guys who came to install AC were again, not technicians. As soon as switched on it started making rattling sound. Another technician appeared within 1:30 hours and properly fixed the AC. He also used a ply board make shift push support between compressor. Rattling died down. I told him that the shock proofing cap on top of the compressor is missing. (similar to a cap on a spark plug on a scooter/bike) He admitted it is missing. Finally, he left. No cap has appeared, I did not follow. The compressor makes a clunk sound when it goes on off mode. There are a few very important things here that I feel should be shared: 1. Sale network has no issue, it is satisfactory 2.


I can say service of 1 week over an AC was an extreme dissatisfaction 3. There were many non value added process which were conducted after service request, like sending unqualified technicians, sending delivery boys for installation etc, resulting into more pressure on already crunched service network 4. Efficient cooling systems, I believe isn’t a bad dealer. However, they are marred by untrained technicians and large number of service requests. Thus fingers can be pointed towards product quality 5. We do not have a power quality issue. The product failed within 45 days of installation is certainly not a good product 6. Training of installation staff is poor 7. Sense of hygiene, eagerness for protection of other home finishes is extremely poor 8. Dressing and greeting of staff was poor 9. Turnaround time for service was poor and I had to buy another cooler as standby 10.


Understanding the importance of customer safety is poor as evident by missing cap 11. "Jugaad" (make shift quick fix bloody) is what the technician did to stop rattling. Instead of getting proper rubber bushes and securing them around compressor. I did not object as I would rather take care of it myself than to follow voltas 12. I thank TATA for creating great opportunity of learning by highly under performing on product reliability, service turnaround time and quality of service.


For showing us a real time failure. It is indeed a great opportunity for someone who wish to compete against them in market and learning for management consultants and students 13. Not to forget that most non value added service throughout the cycle was the call center. They couldn’t do anything else other than generating complaint number and feeling sorry about my discomfort 14. So shall you buy a voltas AC? Well, on my grandmother’s refrigerator a voltas stabilizer is living eternally under poor power conditions. Of all the home appliances, it is the most reliable and proved durable. However an AC, it’s for you to decide. 15. Are LG or other AC services better than Voltas? We do not have any official and reliable data for it. Thus, can’t be conclued16. I think voltas should limit the number of cases a customer service center can handle.


This may result into better monitoring, training and customer satisfaction 17. Is a turnaround time of 7 days good enough for Indian market?? Well, if they told me the first day that it will take 7 days, and I get a properly repaired product  after 7 days, I would have less frustration 18. Most importantly: There was not a single call from dealer, call center, or any service technician that rang in to my phone. I made 30+ calls to get this sorted. (apparently sorted) 19. The leadership at voltas did not have much problem. They did respond. But they were unable to extract any fair results

I’ve been repeated calling the official voltas servicing guys for the past 3 weeks as my ac(within warranty, started giving a foul smell and stopped cooling. The voltas guys just don’t come! Am i required to personally collect them?


I mean I’m ready to do even pick them up from their homes even, but these guys after reassuring me by their stupid call centre employees just don't make it! I’ve been trying to sleep in a fan in such hot weather. I being a lawyer am absolutely fed up and have now decided to approach consumer forum against these guys malpractices.


They are going to pay for it in court!

On the recommendation of the shopkeeper I bought Voltas Vertis AC last year that too spending a lot more extra than the similar ACs in this category. I had bought 1-ton AC, and the same price LG and Samsung offers 1.5 ton AC.


Cons:




  • Price




  • Never go on the star rating - this might not give the desired performance




  • The body is made of poor quality plastic. The hinges of the filter window break after removing it 3-4 times, and in result you get is vibrating window which is noisy.




  • Worst of all - the gas leakage problem. Within a year the gas leaked - few days after it was serviced by the Voltas service center. I have been using LG and samsung ACs since a long time. Infact one of the LG AC was bought in year 2000 and still I have never felt any cooling problem or gas leakage. But the quality of Voltas AC seems to be so poor the problem arose within a short time.




  • To add to it, they themselves believe that thsi problem can occur, hence they ask the customers to have the AC coils to be copper coated to prevent any damage.




  • At the time of its 1st service, they asked me to get them copper coated for Rs. 300 which I did, and here is the result. Within a month, the gas leaked and they are charging Rs. 2150 for refilling!






FYI - The AC's price is Rs. 17500/-


To conclude, I would warn all prospective buyers not to buy Voltas AC. Go for LG, or O-General instead which have better cooling and less maintenance.

Horrible service. My complaint no. 12JU2008290 dated 20th June has not been attended even after 4 days, even though I am in the national capital. What must be the fate of customers in smaller towns ! If the response time is more than 100 hours, God bless the customers.


I always thought a TATA product would be backed by prompt and efficient after sales service. But apparently Corporates today have shed these values as unnecessary baggage. Everytime I followed up with the call centre, they said they were putting my complaint on 'Priority' Someone tell them the meaning of priority.


The amount the Company pays them to tell white lies day after day, should be used to improve the services.

We bought 2 window & 1 split Voltas platina ACs from sargam electronics, pitampura, new Delhi . one window AC was a defective piece which never worked from day 1. Voltas engineer worked for more than 2 hrs and said one wire is burnt. he refused to accept that it is defective piece.


We need it to be replaced and complaint has been lodged but nothing has been done. other 2 AC is cooling is not great . I would never ever recommend a voltas Ac. Think 100 times before you spend your valuable money on a junk product.. It is the most horrifying experience of electronics I have ever had. we have had carrier ACs since long time which are/were working absolutely fine and no problems so far.


It was a great mistake to go for Voltas.

Don't buy the voltas 2s .75 ton window AC. It hardly cools the room. even hard to make 11 11 room cool... I just did a mistake. better you don't do that. Throughout the night, room temp. could manage to reach at 25 degree from 35 degree. It sucks. It could have easily reach 22 year. Atleast in night, I just hate its service and working. I'm not satisfied at all...


I would not recommend this Voltas AC to any of my friend.

I purchased Voltas 1.5 ton split AC from Sahil Electronics, Sarojini Nagar on the 2nd of June, 2012. Earlier also I had read bad reviews of voltas AC and its Customer Care, But due to persuasion of my father and the dealer, I decided to buy it to my bad luck.


Now I have having first hand experience of the one of worst possible split ACs in indian market The Compressor of voltas AC is pathetic. In spite of the AC put on "Continuous cool mode", the compressor shuts down frequently. As a result, The room is not cooling. I complained to the customer care a number of times. Every time I call, they renew the complain and say that "Technician will visit in 24 hrs". But even after 5-6 days, there is no response from their side.


Its really frustrating that even after spending 36000/- on their product, they have such pathetic service to offer. One thing is for sure, I am never buying voltas again in my life. and also that never let any dealer pusuade you to buy any product.

I have purchased Voltas split AC, 8 months back. Now I called them for the first service. The request is raised 1 week back but still the issue is not closed. I called to their call center nearly 35 times.


Response of the people from call centre is bad. Really, they don't have any idea on when the request is going to close and they don't have communication with service person also. If you are going to buy an AC, please don't prefer Voltas. This is my strong opinion because for AC, definitely we need good service.


Without good service, there is no value for the product and the brand.

No Voltas any more. It is a junk product from a reputed Company. I bought 1.00TON platinum 3s Window AC Last week. It did not work for a day. Now Voltas says that they will not repair or replace. I just wasted Rs. 21500 for this junk product and around a week running after shop keeper and Voltas Service people.


My newly bought AC does not cool but makes a lot of noise. After each 20 min, it goes off and does not work for 30 min.

One thing is for sure, I am never buying voltas again in my life. The only reason why I bought voltas was because of the TATA name. The after sales service is pathetic – be prepared for numerous call to the service center and spend hell lot of money. They don’t know how to repair or fix a issue, they will simply replace the part for which they are taking 5-7 days.


I have this AC since last 4 year, there is never a season went by when I am not having trouble with this AC.


Now I have understood one thing, It is better to get voltas fix by a local centre rather than going to a voltas service centre.

We bought voltas split on 29 May 2012, and it stopped working within 20 days. We didn't get our back till the date. They took 5 days to register complaint, not get repaired tlll now. We feel unhappy buying voltas.


We also had old one which we bought 4 years back, now it was also not working properly since 5 days. Technician came and said every thing is okay but we getting hot air at 17 degrees.
