I have purchased a vertis plus split AC for 29, 500=00. I found the cooling very good , noise is almost nil. The time taken to cool the room is 2 to 5 mins.

Some of my friends have also purchased it and we have found that the electricity consumption is very low , if we keep it on for whole night (almost 10 hrs) at 25 degree temp it consumes about 1.5 units surprising isn't it.

Voltas Vertis Vat Laga Diya

I purchased a Voltas vertis Gold split A/C with 4 star rating. Paying a lot more but with the hope of savings in termis of electricity bills.

My dream was shattered as after the painfull process of getting the Voltas franchised service guy to get the A/C working, it was all but working, it was not cooling, Voltas technician assured it will cool in due time. Room remained warm in due time. after a weeks wait and numerous calls Voltas send a technicain again found the gas to be less filled it, still no cooling, again a 2 week wait for technician to visit.

Same claim a/c working, on being asked how long does it take to cool a 12 feet X 15 feet X 8 feet false rooffed room tecnician said a 1 hr with a 1.5 tonne split a/c , but he said he does not have the time to wait for a hour and left. I kept it on for 2 hrs sweeted it out as its my mistake of buying a Voltas A/C.Now what?What use it to hang such a m/c on my wall, Voltas please take it back.

Never buy voltas vertis plus ac

Voltas does not have proper service centers. The quality of the product is very low.

I bought a Vertis Plus 1.5 ton Window AC on 10 June 2008. Within 1 month it started giving problems and the cooling decreased.

I contacted at the service centre number given in the service manual, they asked us to contact Ghaziabad service centre as our residence is in Rampuri (Suryanagar) and refused to lodge a complaint with them.

Ghaziabad - Noida has a common complaint centre which has a poorest service and they never pick up the phone even. Finally I managed to file a complaint and upon several requests the service boy came to our place. This boy was not having much knowledge and he told us that the PCB was faulty. He took the PCB with him to the service center.

After that there was no information of the complaint for days. Upon calling several times the boy came back and the PCB was in the same state as before, means it was not repaired and was returned as such. The complaint is not yet closed, we are planning to get the piece repaired from any service centre on our own paying for the service from our own pocket.

VOLTAS has a very poor service. Never buy VOLTAS AC.

Does the job well - Kudos to Voltas

After much research I finally decided to go for Volvas Vertis Plus 1.5T window AC.

The choices I had - well quite a few:

Blue Star - Awesome Value for money. 1.5T was 15, 995/- however I wasn't sure about the after sales service - so had to rule it out. But overall a very good product.

Hitachi - Amazing features - Extremely power efficient and very quite. Problem: Price of of 20k for a 1T and 25k for 1.5T. No discounts. Undoubtedly quality came @ a very high price

Voltas - Good old reliable TATA product. All required features - no flashy gimmics like the other players in the market boost about. Tuned for Indian conditions backed up by excellent service. Service cost is 200/- only per season. Price of course - 17000/- for Vertis Plus and 16000/- for Premium

Carrier - without a doubt - its a great product being the market leaders. Problem - Price Tag of 24.5k for a 1.5T. Same a Hitachi - and if given a choice I'd go with Hitachi - coz its more power efficient.

My Choice: Voltas Vertis PLUS 1.5T Window AC

Why?

One of the few ACs with an EER rating. It offered a 2 Star rating when others offered none.

Time tested. Used LG and Videocon AC @ home and they are nothing compared to Voltas.(No offence - I'm using both LG and Videocon along with Voltas)

Good Service backed up by TATA

Discount. Vertis Plus is a new model where as Premium is reltailing 1500 lesser than Plus model. The reason as quoted by the company - a few tweeks here and there - Looks & an EER rating which the older Premium model lacks. The market price of Vertis Plus is 18, 500/- to 19, 000/-(19k being the price mentioned on Voltas Company website) - I got it for 17, 000/-

Had all the features required. Dry Mode for rainy seasons, LCD remote, Sleep Mode with on/off Timer, highly energy efficient compressor, good built quality which would last long and simply straight forward USP - no flashy gimmics like the LGs and the Samsungs of the world do on TV.

Why not go for LG / Samsung / Onida / Videocon?

Well for the simple reason that I have used most of these and the products start showing the effects after 2 yrs of running. Irritating sounds during start up, constantly falling ability to cool, features not working. And my personal favorite: service people bill you more because a "chip" controlling the "bio-sleep" function died and had to be replaced.

My Suggestion to folks reading this review:

Voltas is best known for its uninterupted performace and dependability. Cooling is awesome. I bought a 1.5T for my room which actually needed a 1T so cooling was faster. Safe to go for Voltas Plus. I'm happy with it - so I vote YES!

If you have the money to spend - go for Hitachi(best choice) or Carrier(same price as Hitachi). Blue star is a good option but then I was told that its great for commercial use and not home use.

O-General is also a great AC. Should consider spending more if you can affort it.

CAUTION!

Always check the EER rating. Makes a lot of difference in the long run. 2 Star is standard you should look for. Sellers might say - "whats there in a rating - all ACs are meant to save power" - well what a bunch of crap. Its like saying an ISI mark is for no good.

Higher end ACs has upto 3 or even 4 star rating. But then I'm talking about ones which cost over 25k.

Check for the nearest service center. It comes in handy.

The more the techno gimmics in the AC - terms like Bionizer, Silver Nano - features wont last more than 2yrs. After which they start giving issues. Remember you'll be billed higher when it comes to servicing and repair. An AC is supposed to cool the room - period. Buy one which does that primary function best. Everything else is secondary. I used a National AC - very old - but works better than most others even after 5yrs now.

Break up of costing:

Vertis Plus 1.5T: 17, 000/-

Staballizer: 2500/-(Voltline)

Fixing Charges: 500/-

Electric settings: 700/-(buying an MCB switch and cabling)

Setting up the Wooden AC Frame Stand: 500/-

TOTAL DENT IN POCKET: 21, 200/-

Smile on you face once it starts cooling the room: PRICELESS.

Poor Service of NOIDA ELECTRO APPLIANCES GALLERY,

I had purchased a 1.5T AC from your dealer "NOIDA ELECTRO APPLIANCES GALLERY PVT LTD" at Sector 18, NOIDA on 07 Feb 2008. The AC was installed by them a couple of days later. Even during the installation I had pointed out that they were doing a slipshod job but I was assured that any problem would be rectified immediately.

Just one month after the installation, I noticed that the plywood used to cover the window had come loose and I accordingly called the dealer to inform him about it. Its been two weeks now and even after daily reminders the dealer has not bothered to send his person over to fix it with the result that I am unable to use the AC. They do not make a note of complaints and everytime I call, I have to explain the entire problem. They them commit that someone would arrive the same day but none turn up. Everytime they have some or the other excuse. A couple of times the shop owner even disconnected the phone when I called to ask about my complaint status. Till date there has been no response to my complaint.

I would not recommend "NOIDA ELECTRO APPLIANCES GALLERY PVT LTD" to anyone and if the service is so poor I wouldn’t recommend Voltas products to anyone either. Request you to please keep a check on these rogue dealers who are there only to make a quick buck and vanish as soon as the word service is mentioned.

Voltas company service centre are not trustable

We really need help( which Voltas company will never give us that is very sure ) with this, We have purchased your product Voltas Air conditioner( Vertis Premium 1.5 t) from noida on 19.6.05 and now the A.C remote is not working and we have given complaint to your delhi call centre no 66628695) they said that they will deliver the new remote at your doorstep and we will not charge anything other than the total money of the remote as you are taking the new remote

The service centre person came without the new remote and told us that they need the old remote for model no so that they can bring the new one, after two three days they came with the old remote and told us that this is the new remote and they are charging us the 1200 rupees for that old remote one thing I want to mention here that (they came with out any bill and warranty card).

So we told them that we want the new set with our old remote and the same day they came at 9'oclock without informing us and with the new set and charging for that 1200+300 rupees we said that we don't need your services and kindly give us the our old remote back but they said that at present your old set is not with us they need that set to deposit in the company( how they can take our set without our permission )

We said that we will complaint about your service centre to the call centre no and after reminding them again and again for three days service centre persons came back with the old set which was not ours they have given us the remote of someone else and they have taken us 300 rupees from us for visit charge.

We are sorry to say that we can not trust your service centre and your company has cheated us. when for the small amount of money your company can cheat us than what will happen when we want help for some big fault of your product. We are very sorry to say that your company is not realiable and we will not buy any product from voltas in future

I purchased the Voltas 1.5T AC from Rhythm House, Sector 18, Noida on Sunday 9th. Sales guy had promised that the installation would be smooth, the only variable they do not have control is wiring at my place. Anyway the installation was done the next day.

After the installation the AC didnot work and the person informed that electrician is required for doing the wiring and left.

Inspite of clearly indicating to Mr. Satwinder the installation and commissioning in-charge at Rhthym House, he didn't send the right guys for installation. And their installation personnel was horrible, he wasn't even a carpenter forget about having AC installation skills.

After repeated following up which included disconnection of the phone line by Satwinder, finally engineers from Voltas service center in Ghaziabad arrived.

They informed that wiring from the AC to stabliser was done wrongly. Because of which AC was not functional for 6 days.

Few questions here

Is Voltas checking their rouge dealers who are out there to make a quick buck by fooling customer. I am dead sure I am not venturing near Voltas or Ryhthm house again in my life.

Whom can I catch and get my complaint registered.

Wouldn't recommend anyone to venture near Rhythm House, Noida.

Vertis .75 ton - Not a cool service

I bought a Vertis 0.75 Ton window AC one year back. The cooling is good and can be used for a room which is up to 100 square feet.

The AC is compact compared to other brands. The remote is also easy to use. The display shows the room temperature all the time and displays the set temperature when any button is pressed.

The disadvantage is that if there is any problem with the PCB, then the entire front panel must be replaced.

Now, for the other side of the story. The service is very pathetic. When installing the AC, the service person found that the front grille does not fit properly on to the front panel. He asked me to contact the dealer and get it replaced. But when contacted, they said it’s the job of the service guys and gave me a number.

I contacted them and one person came for inspection. He gave a report stating that it is not a defect with the grille, but with the front panel itself. He promised me that he will come and replace it next day. When ever I call they tell that there is no stock. Now it is almost a year, and still the defective part has not been replaced, in spite of repeated phone calls. We even wrote to the Service center manager and the GM of Sales, but nothing fruitful.

All our pleas fell on deaf ears. This is not the kind of service expected from a reputed company like TATA. I never recommend this product to anyone.

Voltas cools

I bought this A.C. in March 2006 for my residence. It is a very silent machine with the best cooling. It was a tough choice as market was very competative with other A.C. around I shortlisted Voltas, Blue star & L.G. But then finally I decided go for an TATA brand which is more respected and also because of after sales service which TATA offers. It can cool your room at a temperature of 24 degrees, which is quite good it's economy mode also helps in saving electricity. Its energy efficiency ratio is also quite good almost at par with other brands.

Only drawback is that it can be only operated via remote control as A.C. does not have any switch. But that should not be a problem is remote looks to be very durable.

Nice machine to buy for office and home. One can go for Voltas as this company has all the expertise they needed to cool you they provide only cooling solutions. You name it they cool it.

Bought voltas thnking it would be made by india’s largest company tata so would offer good wuality sevice if something goes wrong.

Voltas does not take careof the after sales, I came to know this when it stopped working after one month itself . The dealer made me run like its common after him and that too n peak summer. the machine just concked off when we had a electric outage and then the electricity came on again, it seems there is no safety feature to prevent this. I came to know that the parts were not avaialble with the dealer and it would take one week to bring them from voltas. that a long time considering that its the capital city.

The emphasis was more on sales than support after it. The dealers do not provide any complaint no. so there is nointeraction between the comapny and dealers . the call center people are there to tell you the address of the dealers so not much use.

in the first three months, I had to call the dealer twice and it took an average on one week fo them to return the machine back.

One more thing, it makes lot of noise and produces lot of water so if you stil want to go in for it let me tel you that the electrolux machine was cheaper and my neighbour is happy that she went in for that.

I am surprised to see the attitude these dealers show when you ask them for service. The call center folks also had an attitude. I thought they were working for a govt. organisation when my call wasnt answered inteh first place and then we had to tel them that there are old people in my home suffering in the delhi heat. They thought we were just acting pricey and refused to call the dealer and left us to our own devices.

This year the mercury down south rose to such heights that I bought an AC(Not a bad Idea right) an Voltas Vertis Premium 1.5 Ton(Horrific Idea). The dealers here were making a terrific sales on ACs, so when I visited the Viveks dealer at Vadalapani, the sales guy(all smiles) promised to get the AC up and running the next day with an Installation charge of 750 Rs. I agreed to this and payed in full, all well up to this point. So I pay up and go home to bed thinking about the last humid night.

But the bad newz was that the AC never turned up the next day and the next and the next for one whole week (Reason - NO STOCK). Finally after my too many phone calls and one angry visit to the dealer gets the AC Delivered but not installed, it gets done only the next day(again after repeated Calls).

The Real Story starts here, the AC is toooooo noisy, its so loud that I got a headache sleeping with the stupid thing on, it cools fast enough though, but no one would like to sleep with this loud monster. Finally after repeated calls to the dealer, cust care, and mails to all the top people at Voltas(this was difficult to find and most mails bounced) the service people turned up did some fixing and the noise was reduced by 5%. We could sleep with the AC on now but every time the compress turns off, we would be woken up with a jolt as if somebody dropped a bomb nearby. So we call the service guys again and they try to try to fix it, but still its noisy, so we leave it at that.

But then again after 2 months they turn up for a general service and that night when we turn on the swing, it is stuck and it does not swing. So again these guys are called and this time I made a pleading request not to send in the same guys and so a new one turns up fixes the Swing and tells that he needs to add a bush to some pipe which would reduce the noise. But by this time we have decided to throw the junk at the first available opportunity and get something better maybe a good fan.

This AC, ITS DEALER(VIVEKS vadapalani) & SERVICE PERSONAL ARE A REAL HEADACHE. I WOULD NEVER ADVICE ANY ONE IN HIS RIGHT MIND TO GO FOR THIS BRAND(be it the TATA's themselves)

I had purchased a Voltas Vertis Premium on April 9th from a dealer in Sector 18, Noida. It functioned well (except the noise) till May 17th and it did cool my small room (9'6'' x 11'5 1/2'') to 16 deg C within 15-20 minutes of operation when outside temperatures were 42 deg C.

It stopped working so I tried contacting the service centre in Ghaziabad. They simply do not pick the phone. Finally I was able to register the complaint through the dealer. After they replaced the faulty PCB, AC stopped cooling below 25-26 deg C.

After several phone calls, when I managed to reach the service centre, I was told AC can not cool belolw 24 deg C.

I finally e-mailed GM, Sales Mr. KD Virmani, and was contacted by the Service Manager Mr. Manoj Agarwal from the Ghaziabad service centre. People from the service centre made at least 6-7 visits. They tried cleaning the AC with water and even took the AC to their workshop promising that it will returend same day evening. As usual, it was returned next day evening after I made several calls on the mobiles of various service engineers.

While AC was simply not repaired when it was returned from the workshop, they also broke the smoke vent lever during re-installation.

Mr. Anupam Chauhan, RCSM-North Zone, Voltas has sent me an e-mail saying:

''However I would just like to share with you that All Airconditioers are

designed to provide an inside temperature of 24 to 27 degree C room

temperature (designed at 35 degree C ambient as per ISI standard).

Bringing down the cooling to 16 degree C is not possible in window and

split air coonditioner in standard heat laod condition.''

I am finally filing a complaint in the consumer court. Any one wanting more information can contact me at my e-mail address.

It is winter in summer

Tata has been an expert in other products and also in this A/C. It's such a wonderful AC. It drops the average room temperature from 33 to 20 in about 8-10 minutes and from 33 to 27 in 15-17 minutes. I was really feeling chilled. If you decrease the temperature from the default (25) to 16 degrees celicius, you may feel as if you are on a hill station. Chill out with this A/C. It is remote operated so yo can sit and command your cooling slave. it has a timer too so that it can automatically switch on or off after the time you have commanded it to do. It comes with an economy mode that saves power aso you need not worry too much about your electricity bill (well, you do need to worry if you switch I on for 24 hours if yopu still feel hot after it's super cooling). It comes with a number of fan modes and other modes such as dry mode, more cooling with slow fan speed mode etc.etc. It requires service after 2 or 3 months as the dust gets accumulated within the AC. The service is okay. It depends upon the dealer also. You will get a free service after some months (i think so). Now comes the noise part. It won't make that squeak until and unless a lot of dust gets deposited in it. Recently, it was making a lot of squeaks and squirls but after servicing I just got a new AC with very less noise. But to say it really makes a bit of noise. It is really a cool AC whcih makes ice turn into water. If you want to buy a compact and powerful AC, then WHY ARE YOU READING THIS REVIEW FOR HELP??? GO AHEAD AND BUY IT!!!

ELECTROLUX OXYGEN 1.5TN window AC

After a market survey I decided to buy an ELECTROLUX ac, but now I regret my decision

this review is for ELECTROLUX oxygen ac 1.5tn only which I purchased about 2 months back

following are the pros and cons:

PROS:

1)attractive grill, good l.c.d remote control,good looks and controls

2)ioniser(oxygen) function,sleep,auto,dry etc modes

CONS:

1) fan motor noisy ,permanent lubricated but brand appears to be local: lakwin?

2)cooling is poor, temp never goes below 23c even after 3 hrs of compressor running continuously+ outside temp of 37c, room size 125sq ft,month of april and normal room temp of 31c. although the min temp given on lcd panel is (16c).

3)compressor make is hitachi(shanghai) i.e made in china

4)power consumption is 2.1 unit per hr as compared to co claim of 1.8 u

i have no idea about other brands like voltas,lg but certainly dont go in 4 electrolux
