Voltas 1 Ton 3 Star 123LYv Split AC

We bought Vertis Gold AC(1.5T) on 25-May-11, and till date it is not working properly because of multiple problems and even the customer service department has not responded properly to our problems.The list of Complaints logged with them is as follows:

>>>>Current complaint: 11JL1103191 - Water starts coming out of AC continuously into the room as soon as we switch it on.

>>>>Previously, ICE pieces were falling from AC.

>>>>AC was given to us with broken Swing locks and flap locks

1) My First complaint was on 27 May-11: No Cooling, lot of sound, outer unit doesn't stop even after switching off the ac,

:gas was filled after the complaint was logged

2) Second complaint was on 10 Jun-11 attended by Ginny Aircon, : complaint -Lot of noise in flap, ice coming out at of ac: No solution, service engineer marked job sheet pending.It's been a month and no revert has been revceived on the same.

3) Third Complaint on 11july11 - Executive gave an assurance that the problem will be resolved by next day i.e. 12 July'11, however, nothing has been done so far. Upon calling them, they are just shifting the dates to next day.

This is really a disappointing experience with a big brand like VOLTAS.

Pathetic after sales service. It takes repeated reminders for their personnel to come on board.

In my case of this 5 split ac - the large ventilation fan attached to the compressor completely broke into pieces just a month after the one year guarantee period expired.

The unit was not even in open but was installed in a protected location where no outside element like bird etc could come in. They have completely washed their hands off the whole thing saying that the one year period is over.

Such a large fan attached inside the unit shattering by itself is a clear case of manufacturing defect. the company is not willing to accept the same - harping on the expiry of the guarantee period.

It is only when you experience problems like this that you realize what stuff these companies are made off.

So dont go by past record - a lot of these ac companies may actually be offering better products and after sales service compared to voltas.

For me it would be complete no no - voltas for my next ac. Pathetic is the conclusion for these guys.

I bought the 1 Ton Vertis Plus some 4 years back. It was hardly been used for 3-4 Months (active use). and after that it stopped cooling. I took it for repair and it was found that gas is leaking from multiple places on the cooling copper pipe. For the cost saving very light copper pipes are used in th AC. As per my mechanic this is common problem with Voltas products now.

The mechanic was a trusted one and normally gives a warranty of 6 Months after gas refill, but for this product, which was little more than a year old he simply denied to give any warranty, due to the quality of pipes used in AC. He did gas refill and some welding on pipes for which I had to spent around Rs 1800, with no warranty. Fortunately it worked for the season but again next year I had to get further leakage on pipe fixed with fas filling and another Rs 2000 was spent next year. At the same time I was told by the mechanic, that it won't be possible to do any further welding on this.

Now for this season, again the same, no cooling which seems further leakage and so I decided to replace the AC, rather to get  it fixed again with no warranty.

I bought  purchased Vertis Gold AC with 1.5 ton capacity from Croma store in Aundh Pune on 17/04/2010. Barely after a month from the installation it started to demonstrate less cooling. It started taking long time to cool to say 25 degree centigrate.

We then complained to Voltas call center or customer service for complaint as well as to Croma store. After repeated complaints to Voltas call center or customer service finally Voltas service person visited us, and after examining the AC informed us that the gas needs to be refilled and that it would be done by Croma personnel as they had done the installation. Even after repeated followup with the service personnel the actual repair or the gas refill was not done.

We then complained again to the Voltas call center or customer service, as a result again some service personnel visited our place and again informed us that the gas needs to be refilled. Any repair action or gas refilling is not done till date and my AC is completely unusable as of now and since few months.

(after a year)

I  have no other option but to approach "Grahak Munch" or or other equivalent consumer courts against Voltas & croma aundh pune

Just a month ago, I bought a brand new window ac after doing a hell lot of research and inquiring at many places and stores like Snehanjali, Vijay Sales, EZone, Next, CROMA, Big Bazar Elecronics Bazar and local dealers.

After all this research and reading reviews, I am upto writing a review for you people so that you people don't have to do all that stuff again and hopefully I can help you in making a quick decision.

Air conditioners are majorly categorized into 2 types:

When you go for this product, following facts must be kept in mind:

• Device as well as Installation is expensive than Window AC plus relocation requires installation from the scratch involving purchase of a new outlet pipe.

  
  




• Cooling is excellent as it takes away hot air from inside the room and cools it. Much more efficient than Window AC in this respect.

  
  




• Noise level is too low as compared to Window AC.

  
  

Window AC

• Good choice for those who stay in rented flats. Even 1.0 Ton capacity is enough to cool a 12 X 12 sq feet room in minutes.

  
  




• Easy Installation. Only a block in wall is required. Since drainage is outside (from rear part of AC), no holes in wall or pipes are required.

  
  




• Much cheaper than Split ACs.

My EXPERIENCE:

I just bought VOLTAS VERTIS PLUS 1.0 Window AC for my 10 X 12 sq feet room 1 month ago. I delayed writing this review so that I can be sure of its service and features. It proved out to be an excellent choice for me. I bought it at a nominal price of INR 14500 from Rahi Electronics, Mira Road, Mumbai. I got it as the best shop giving me the lowest cost of the product. They charge a nominal fee of 100-200 INR bucks for proper installation in case you need.

The ac cools the room in approx 20 minutes and operates with very low noticeable noise. It also operates through a remote and has all basic features such as TIMER, SLEEP TIMER, FAN BLOW MODES and TURBO Cooling. I haven't come across any problem till date and very satisfied with the operation of the AC.

I recommend to readers of this review to go for Voltas Vertis Plus only if you are looking for worth of your money.

First of all, thanks to mouthshut users as their valuable comments help me a lot to decide the right AC.

I purchased Voltas Vertis Plus 1.0 Ton Window AC on 11-April-2010 after reviewing the comments and search a lot on Internet and from many Dealers, finally I purchased it from Vijay Sales, Mumbai. I got it in 14400/- the AC is very sleek and smart with all basic features.

I am reviewing this after using it for 2 weeks, till time the AC works wells and as expected.Its a 2 star AC. The only thing I was not feeling comfortable about the Service, till time I didn't get the Demo, although it is not required but it is the part of the installation.

I am very satisfied with the AC and Voltas Brand.

The product was purchased in 2009 and developed problems within seven months.  It was purchased from Sumaria and serviced by Sai-Sidhi.

It took multiple reminders to get a technician to come for servicing.  They came, they saw and they took it away.

The product had developed problems with cooling itself. The company returned it with that one problem solved and two new ones created. The remote functioned intermittently and the fan swing had completely stopped.  And the servicing company has the gall to state that while we do not check anything post service, you are supposed to do so, immediately upon receipt.

Incredibly bad experience. We trusted the Tata name. You should not.

There is no specific over here..cooling is good but support is very bad. I've purchased it in a Voltas service center in saligramam. Almost two years now, i never received any call for servicing this. But when i called them up, they turned up with in two days.

Cost is bit high, i believe there are other products too with cheaper price. But i never faced any problem with this in the last two years. I believe you can buy 1.5t for the same price with other models / brands i believe. I've purchased it for the price of about 24k nearly some two years back.

Selecting a good air conditioner is really very tough, given the number of brands available in the market., There is a wide ranges of brands with different models and different features, Starting from LG, Volta’s, Whirlpool, and Samsung and so on.

After searching in the market, finally I bought Volta’s, the biggest name in the air conditioning products. I don’t want try with some new brands available in the market. The Voltas1.0 Vertis Elite 3 Staris one of the most successful products in the current day market.

Key Features

This Vertis 1.0 tonne cooling capacity wall mounted split air conditioner has a rotary compressor. This 1.0 ton AC works very well to keep cool from the extreme heat. The incorporated rotary compressor with an EER of 9.09 gives power efficiency and smoothness mind and body, as it emits low noise while operating. Its compressor has long life and problem free running of the AC cooling even in unbearable heat. It also has catech in filter which ensures long time sterilizing function with dedust function.

*Design

*It has decent layout and good look with flat design. Its anti corrosion body prevents the damage to the AC. It has a remote control packed with great and user friendly functions.

*Power Saving

Other than that, it has Digital temperature control, LED indicators on display panel and LCD Remote Control. It has features like auto restart, sleep mode, dry mode and on/off timer. It comes with fresh air switch which allows fresh air intake in the room.

It comes with 1 Year Warranty on AC and 5 Years Compressor Warranty from Voltas.

In my opinion, it’s a very good Air Conditioner. I am using this for the past 18 months and proves to be very useful. I have not faced any problems so far. Price is higher compare to other products in the markets. Its better to stick to good brand, compare to less known brand just to save few bucks, and it might cause me more in the long run in terms of poor quality and durability.

I purchase the AC on 2009 during the height of hot. The AC work wells it  has a good cooling system. The people comes to fix the system is not that capable I think.

In that datasheet it is mentioned two rubber bushes should removed before fxiing. but they told there is no need to remove that rubber bushes. When they tried to fix outer white cover that is not matching with the frame. When we switched on the system I heard only noises of vibration.

I've bought a Voltas vertis elite gold 1 T split ac two weeks back in Chennai.  The room size is about 90 sq.ft.  In spite of keeping the ac fan speed to the maximum, and temperature being kept at 20 degrees, it takes nearly 30 mins to cool the room.  There is no other floor above this room.  In spite of shelling out nearly 30K on ac, extension cords, electrical fitments I'm just not satisfied with the performance.

Is it a faulty AC?  Or all the ac's are like that only.  I've two other windows ac with me (LG 1.5 T, and Samsung 1.5 T) both no problem for the last 4 years.  They're working just fine.  Guys pls give your ideas as what I'd do now.  Still I don't know how much effect it has on my electricity bill.

Voltas has a very bad dealer network, I live in east Delhi and got to know about the dealer through adv in news paper, there was only one dealer of Voltas on busy street like Vikas Marg. That dealer too was not interested in selling Voltas instead he was intrested in promoting other brands like Samsung.

Why I chose Voltas b'coz it was recommended by someone known who deals in AC and by my AC mechanic that in low price category LG, Samsung, Electrolux, Onida, Voltas is cheap and best.

I have room size of 10ft by 9 ft for which I have done some research on internet and found that 1 ton will be sufficient but dealers will always push 1.5 ton whatever the room size is.

Its now more than 15 days the AC has been installed but no one from Voltas has come for a demo why I am saying this is that I was told by Dealer that after installation Voltas engineer will make a visit it surely reflects on the level of after sales service of Voltas, I have to find some way to contact Voltas as their website https://voltasac.com never works.

Still I can't say if it is better than other brands it is too early. Voltas is spending 20 crores on adv of AC as there are lot of adv on TV but from their customer support it does not reflect

I am updating my review after a year now I have 2 Voltas vertis plus A/C that means I am very much satisfied with the performance of the A/C. For my one year old A/C I have opted for AMC with Voltas which is Rs.1500/- .

My advise for any Voltas related thing call there help line no. 66628695( Delhi) and I would like to mention Votas person Mr. Vivek's name  who is looking after Voltas East Delhi Support is very helpful in whether you have to purchase new A/C or AMC.

From my 2 years experience I can say its not bad dealer network but dealers try to create false scarcity of the product you want just to earn more profit.

I bought a Vertis 1 Ton AC after going through a lot of reviews and opinions, also I was already using a Voltas AC from past 5 years and it had not given me any trouble.

The product as such is very good but the dealers handling it at Jamshedpur are not..

Its a silent machine and very effective for my room dimensions which is 11*12 feet. Also mine being a ground floor residence, the cooling is very fast. Also the dimensions of the mahine is also small compared to other brands ( This I have not checked physically but from the specification I got for the different brands from their catalogues)

Though the dealer had insisted me to go for a 1.5 ton, I calculated and found that 1 ton is more than enough.

So before you go for the tonne make a calculation yourself and then discuss with the dealer.

Hi,

I bought the voltas Vertis split type 1 ton AC recently.

Functionality wise, I'm satisfied. After all, it cools the room well. A good solution to Kerala's humid and irritating summer !!

Let me list the thing I liked first..

• Good Sales/Service staff: their response was really fast

  
  




• The AC does what it supposed to do..

  
  




• No dripping water, In-spite of the humid climate it is operating in!. The water gets drained outside (room) through a pipe.

  
  

The disappointments:

• Voltas team will not provide Electrical connection to the AC.,It requires the 20A rated electrical wirings directly taken from the Main Switch , cost about 23 Rs/meter.

Electrical Material +labour costed me Rs 2500.

• Electricity consumption is about 11 KWh for using 8hrs.

  
  




• Being from a Tata company, I thought it was made in India, but it was made in China !!
