Voltas 1.5 Ton 2 Star 182 Cya Split AC

Hello guys we just bought a new voltas all cool Air Conditioner to beat the heat but the AC does not work even close to fine.

The Voltas Air Conditioner produces very high noise when I up the level of air aor when I increase the air speed while the cooling mode is on. I checked this with the company and they said that it willake that noise. Seriously guys the noide is very irritating.

The service guys were also not helping they just said that the Air Conditioner will make that noise.

So guys I would just prefer any other company over Voltas when it comes to Air Conditioning.

Voltas ACs were considered to be the best a little while ago. Now they have their 183SY 1.5 Ton Split Air Conditioner.

First and foremost, this Air Conditioner has only 3 star rating. So invest your money wisely. A big feature is 3D air flow which all window Air conditioners lack. It has a huge 1500 or something watt consumption so your electricity bill is going to pop up like a rocket.

One more catchy thing: This air conditioner comes with an app on android and iOS to calculate the optimum cooling settings for your conditions, which is really a breakthrough in air conditioner lines. This AC cools the room just fine and you can really use the app, it is of a great use.

So all in all this AC gets 3.5 stars out of 5. This costs around 31000 Rs.

As we know the temperature is rising like anything, As I live in kolkata where the temperature has touch around 47 -49 degree, and my old AC was not working properly and than I was left with no option except to buy a new AC. At first I was confused which brad AC to buy, as my previous AC was of Voltas I was quite happy with the performance of the AC.

I thought to show some loyalty to the brad and I decided to buy Voltas again. Although before purchasing I decide to do some price analysis with the other brand, but it come out that with such excellent features the price of Voltas AC are best in the market. So I purchased a 1.5 Ton Voltas AC. Its been around using the AC and I very must satisfied with the coolness and the performance of the Voltas.

This is hot summer and everyone needs an Air Conditioner. All of us want to buy a cheap and best one.

Voltas 183 PY 1.5 Ton split AC is not a worth buy. It has only 3 star rating which means you electricity bill would be high than you imagined for a less efficiency. Plus, it is not 1 ton but 1.5 tonnes which makes it heavy. It doesn't have much features as well.

There is no moisture removal so you have to keep contacting service center time to time. The general features such as night mode, night glow are there but all air conditioners have them. At 30000 odd price, this AC is not a bargain at all. You could do a market research for better ACs.

Its a very good ac and sleek in design. Very effcient in cooling. The whole room gets cool very quikly. The services provided by the company are also very good.

It's cooling is awesome. The split allow the cooling process very fast. The sensors are good the air conction is very easy to clean and reliable. It has several modes to choose your type of cooling. It also has automatic timer to switch off its a nice and good ac please goo for it

Last year I bought a voltas AC 1.5 ton. But the quality is very low grade. Within the week the performance of the product started degrading.I called service dept., but no one cares about the problems the customers are facing and services of voltas ac are the worst.

I would not recommend anyone to buy this product.Please dont waste your money on voltas.

You just need to call voltas helpline to send someone for installation. Product is excellent and I have received the same 2 days back and now installed by Voltas people.

I have received the AC in good condition, compact packing, cables(copper) and another for connecting to the Inner unit to the plug.Cooling the best and dit happens under 5minutes. Perfect AC for a room size of 14 x 14 not more than that.Overl all voltas is nice product.

The Services of Voltas is worst. I have called them for AC service for around 10 times . Each time these people assure of a callback but no one calls.

I am regretiing after buying this AC. The service of O General and Hitachi is best.Please be careful while buying any Voltas Product. The VOltas representatives also have no sense, how to talk to their customers.

This is the worst service I have experienced.

Voltas is one of the oldest name when it comes to air conditioners manufacturers and is one of the most famous name in India. People know names like Voltas, O’General, Carrier since decades and again they are one of the most successful manufacturers as well. Voltas is famous because of its low priced AC’s and has more sales on middle class category of consumers. They had a kind of monopoly for a long time run in Indian markets until other manufacturers also jumped in market since 1 or 2 decades years back. Voltas offers basic functions in their air conditioners and are not much full of features like Hitachi offers. These are like AC’s just like O’General which also doesn’t offer much features in there air conditioners and the functioning is also very basic. Voltas was also awarded “Reader’s Digest Gold Trusted Brand Award” on 2010 and accorded “Power Brand Status” on 2011(This survey is conducted by Indian Council for Market Research)as well.

One appreciable work which Voltas did recently is to improve looks for there split AC’s. It’s a fact now that split air conditioners get more sales, that’s why most companies are targeting more into improving there range of split AC’s. Samsung recently stopped manufacturing window AC’s just because of this reason that Split AC’s are more in demand today and as well in future. Most of the consumer are more inclined to have good looking products in there house and care forpower consumption as well. These are 2 most major points which everycompany is keeping in mind these days and that’s why everyone is coming up with best looks they could offer in there AC’s. That’s why Voltas introduced a new series of AC’s in there Vertis series which are good looking as well. Other series models looks were also improved with some modifications but Vertis series is what caught first looks in it.And for looks, you can judge a product in a actual showroom only since everyone has its preference with looks.

Voltas Split Air Conditioner(AC) Power Consumption

When it comes to power consumption, as per I said above, they have improved the compressor quality and power efficiency as well with time. However we still cannot compare it with O’General, Carrier orHitachi since there values differ when compared with Voltas. But when we compared there values with LG, the values of power consumption was almost same withsame rated cooling capacity and product specifications. So, it can be said, you can buy between LG, Samsungor Voltas where you get a competitive price for same. However talking of Vertis series of Voltas which is having a high torque compressor, it usually consumes less power because they start with increasing torque and low voltage frequency, however if you run the airconditioner in turbo mode always, do not expect it to perform as a power efficient product for you.

Verdict

If you got to know that Voltas has got some good reputation in your area and people are satisfied using it and your seriously looking for a budget air-conditioner, you can choose this product. However do check prices at many local places you find and compare prices with LGor Samsung as well and take a wise decision.

So make list what is your need.

You cannot spend a minute without AC as its too hot outside and for us in mumbai its the deadly humidity to get rid of it recently dad have purchased a voltas 1.5 ton split AC.

As window AC you need to block your window so he prefered to have split AC we have installed it in our living room the AC we got from snehanjali and at a good discount around Rs 22000 but its good 4 star saving electricity.

The AC is 1.5 ton so it complete cool my living room in just 20 mins very powerful AC and comfortabke and easy to use just make setting on your remote set the timer and float wings and swing mode.

It saves my electricity and also I dont have to put stabilizer for it it manages automatically during power fluctations a very good AC and keeps you cool all time in Summer powerful.

Voltas is one of the oldest name in air conditioners manufactures.Voltas is one of the TATA enterprises and of large supplier of service provider whole across.Voltas is one of the most famous name in india.

In the name cooling effectiveness, it is best than all the other products like daikin and hitachi etc in affordable pricewhile comparing to voltas, the other product prices are bit higher.In terms of cooling lasts for longer periods.But keep one thing is mind, there is always a difference between a higher cost and lower cost air conditioner. However for the price range Voltas is offering there products, they are not bad to have and are good as well.

Lookswise the best models and premium quality of voltas is strong and works fine always. As we r using in personal, didnt get any repairs and in electrical bills, this product giving the best output. So who are looking for stylish design and effective cooling and at affordable price.go for it.

My cousin brother bought this Voltas 1.5 ton Split Ac last year after recommending by one of his friend. This Ac is just awesome, works well even in warm weather. It provides effective cooling even in the month of may and june when temperature touches 45 degree celsius.

Lookwise, it is nice and voltas has maintained a great quality and has been emerging well in last few years. This AC is having 2 stars means I consumes less power and saves electricity bill. The filter is very good, no need to remove and wash the filters in every 10 or 15 days unlike other brands AC's. Doesn't produce irritating sound while running and the remote is very user friendly having various functionalities and customer service is also good.

Voltas the best compay for AC.With Voltas you get peace of mind, great service and good equipment, Nothing disheartens you, cooling is fast and better when compared to many AC's.The cooling efficiency is also very good.I have been using 2 Voltas Split AC model – Y series classic 185cy 1.5 ton with 5star rating and believe I have never faced any issues till date.The indoor is very silent, however the outdoor unit is bit noisy but not very noisy, its just the fan sound similar to ceiling fan sound in bedroom.

Cooling wise, the AC has been delivering its best without any issue.!

It feel freh in bedroom using voltas as its cooling efficiency is good .Go for it, its way better than Samsung and LG. But not as good as Hitachi.!But in overall in budget voltas is best for lower income group .and it also consume less power which is also one extra benefit .Therefore I say to go for voltas AC!

Bought this AC from a local vendor.

Looking at performance of the product it is just awesome no question about it.

Only Issues

1) The remote should be provided with LED light or other so that it can be easily seen at night.

2) The installation process was really hectic service person were not well trained enough to install AC. Drilled big holes, Irregular piping work.

3) Installation cost was around 3500

Rest everything is just perfect. Cools down my room in just 15 min.

Overall good Product but can come up great after fixing remote issue and installation process.

Voltas is one of the best AC manufacturers in India. Make in India!

I had bought a Voltas 1.5 ton 3 star rated AC approx. 2 years ago. For the 1st year I faced no problem with it. It had 1 year warranty and 5 year compressor warranty. People from Voltas came and cleaned it. I was very happy with it.

In the second year, when the hot summer season was just starting, I found out that the AC was not providing the required cooling. So I called the customer care. After 2 days the mechanic came. He checked and told me that the coolant has leaked it would cost me Rs 2500. The summer was upon me without any further inquiry I told him to refill. Another year passed.

Now again this year, same problem aroused. After complaint to the customer care, the mechanic checked and told me that again the gas has leaked. This time I told him to find the root of the problem. After maybe a week of checking the AC he came to the conclusion that the condenser needs to be changed and it would cost me around 6-7k Rs. After asking around my friends I found that other brands of ACs didn't had this particular problem. And after a bit of researching on the Google I found out that this specific problem was persistent in Voltas.

So my advice never buy  a Voltas AC.

I bought our first Window AC from Kings Electronics, Panvel in May, 2010. The staff at Kings was very helpful and asked me about the room measurements before recommending which AC would be best.

As per their recommendations, we bought Voltas Vertis Platina 1.5 Ton.

We got it fitted properly and also started using it. A person from Voltas called me and after taking appointment, he visited and explained all the features of the AC. He also showed how to use the Remote Control and how to remove the Front Panel for cleaning and gave some tips for cooling and maintaining the AC.

The AC is very easy and simple to use and we selected a specific mode after trying out various modes.

When we bought, it was May and Mumbai weather was like a furnace and sultry due to the humidity.

This caused heavy usage of the AC and it was running day and night. However, never had any issues. Followed proper cleaning procedures as explained by the Voltas person. Also, we did a complete servicing by removing it from the Window frame. This helped to remove lot of dust and other garbage and we experienced less noise and more cooling.

Here are some of the Tips which I would like to provide

1. Consult with the showroom customer service guys and give them room measurements.

   
   




2. Seek their advice before buying the AC.

   
   




3. Ask them their recommendations.

   
   




4. Once you buy the AC, ensure that it's properly fitted.

   
   




5. The AC once fitted should be placed well within the frame. If there are gaps, fill those gaps properly.

   
   




6. Clean the Front grill at least Monthly.

   
   




7. Call the Voltas Customer Care and ask them to send a technician for full servicing.

   
   




8. If the above is not possible, then contact a local AC expert and ask them to do complete AC servicing. Follow a regular schedule of full servicing.

   
   




9. Try various modes before selecting the one which satisfies your requirement. Keep the specific mode.

   
   




10. Keep the temperature between 24 to 26 which gives nice cooling and it does not feel cold as well.

    
    




11. Use the timer feature effectively so that the AC would automatically shuts down after the set time.

    
    




12. Turn the AC on at least 15-20 minutes before you enter, so that by the time you enter, the room would be perfectly cooled. Keep the fan off during that time.(This is applicable for night time before sleeping).

    
    




13. Keep the Remote Control at a safe place and do not allow Kids to fiddle with it.

    
    




14. Keep the front of the AC clear and ensure that nothing is blocking the blower.

    
    




15. Ask your electrician to buy an appropriate plug and fit it before turning the AC on.

    
    

I am using this AC for 4 years now and very satisfied with the cooling. The features are very useful such as energy on, timer and various modes.

I am following regular cleaning cycles(Front Grill as well as Full Cleaning). Initially for a year, I called Voltas Customer Care. However, next year onwards, I have involved our local expert AC technician for Full servicing.

I am quite surprised to see negative reviews here but I am sure if you follow the above tips, you can really enjoy your product.

I bought a voltas split ac model magna  185 myi from croma south extension part 2 Delhi costing  42350 on 16 th july 2014 and same was deliverd to me in the evening and the package was in good condition and they offered me free installation and free stablizer so was very happy with this 5star split ac . It was installed on the 4th day after the delivery of the product.

To my horror the remote is not responding at all on off swing mode temp up and down no button on the remote was working in short the ac in not responding to the remoter the technician who came for the installation switched on the ac from  a hidden panel   and said that the remote is not of this model so I will have to book a saperated service call for this.

I have to switch on the ac from the power outlet switch each time when I want to switch on or switch off the ac and  it is operating on 25 degree only

I cant increase or decrease the temperature as this can only be done from the remote the Ac swing function can also not be controlled and it is operating on swing mode only  . I called the voltas customer care and after 2 days they sent a foolish technician who came and checked the remote with a mobile camera and said that the remote is working fine and the problem can be with the LCD display panel  in the indoor unit of the ac . and he just went away stating that somebody will come after 3-4 day to address the issue. I cant say much about cooling at this time  as the AC is working only on 25 and I cant reduce the temperature to check its cooling efficiency.

I have spent almost 42000 on this voltas ac considering the brand name of TATA group and their product quality but it seems that there is no quality check sort of thing that these manufacturers   follow  and the end result is the loss of the consumer these companies make money and the customer becomes fool. I am left with no other option now but  to wait and watch and see my 42000 money wasted as I am sure that these thing cannot be figured out .

I am  currently following the standard procedure with the serivice center and the customer care and written a mail to them also  and waiting if they can resolve my problem

I am planning to file a case against voltas in consumer court if my issues are not resolved in sometime

Its my humble request to all the consumers out there who are reading my review to please buy voltas on your own risk  as my experience was very bad.it seems that the electronic item in india are purely dependent on your luck and there is nothing which is known as quality which we can rely on

The time has come when the govt should impose a 15 days money back gurantee  on the purchase of all the electronic products like we have in US

so that the consumer if not happy can get his hard earned money back

I bought Voltas Vertis 1.5 ton Split AC from Thane Kohinoor shop in April 2012. Within a year, the sensor plate gave away so your technicians replaced it without any charges as it was within one year's warranty. However, as soon as the warranty period got over, the AC started giving up. In the second year, I faced following problems

1. Gas Leakage+ Gas Filling - Rs. 3000

I spent Rs. 25000 when I purchased the AC hoping that there would not be any problem for 5 years. But look at the money I spent after one year of buying your AC. This is absolutely ridiculous. On top of that you charge Rs. 2300 for AMC which includes just 2 free services. Absolutely looting the customers. TATA is a well known brand in India but sorry to say I have turned into a Anti TATA products person now.

We have bought 2 split Voltas AC of 1.5 ton in Gurgaon. Since 2 years we have spent more money than their buying cost.  You need a big size of pocket and patience to carry yourself with this product. Don't buy this product or even brand. It is just a white elephant on the sale of spending money. Just dont buy this product

I did very little market research before buying a Voltas Vertis 1.5 Ton Split AC rated at 5 stars. A mistake for which I am still paying. After the second year, I started facing the issues as follows:

I, Hrisikesh Dasgupta, resident of Post: Sapuipara, Village: Santinagar 9near Kumillapara), PS; Nischinda(Bally), Howrah - 711227, purchased Voltas Split AC 1.5 Ton 5 Star Vertis Gold  from Raja Electronics, Sapuipara, Bally, Howrah 711227 against Bill Number: 9910 on 24 April 2012.

The specification of the machine is as below:

(i) Voltas Split AC 1.5 Ton 5 Star Vertis Gold;

(ii) Model serial No: ID- 4451344A12B000351, OD-451138IE12C003578.

The same was under AMC since April 2013. I regularly paid AMC Charges in April 2013 and April 2014. I am facing various problems with the AC and complained Customer Care over Telephone on 16 May 2014(Vide Complain no 14051600152 dated-16 May 2014).

The Technician of Voltas visited on 21. 05. 2014 after lapse of five days and detected Compressor coil leakage as it made of aluminum and recommended for replacement of copper condenser which will cost Rs 6500 on the ground that the parts are not under AMC and left my residence without taking any corrective action although no where it was mentioned in the Terms and condition of AMC that the Compressor coil is out of AMC. More than eighteen(18) days have passed and I am yet to get the Compressor coil of AC replaced/repaired. The issue reported to all level from customer care since 21May 2014 to till 2 June 2014(through E-Mail) all of which have been ignored. Full payment was made at the time of purchase of AC and for AMC the summer is over when the A/C was actually required.

It is a shame that despite offering good products the company has supplied defective awful AC condenser made of aluminum instead of copper tantamount to manufacturing defect and within less than two years Voltas Split AC 1.5 Ton 5 Star Vertis Gold has stopped working.

Voltas will mint money from you at every given opportunity. They won’t provide you installation facility and shall charge separately(carrying and installation cost). Voltas shall comfortably forget your free servicing. The franchise that runs the servicing centre does not care about the customer’s complaints. Further, I could not understand why I payed the amount for the parts when the AC is under AMC.
