Videocon VNA1800

This is an average Air Conditioner at a very cheap price. This AC has lots of features and is realy cheap. It has capacity of 1.5 Ton. Its Specialities  Blue Film Evaporator. My Videocon split cooling system comes with a blue fin evaporator and stepped louvres. With the stepped louvres, you'll regulate the air flow step by step and as desired.

This Videocon AC comes with 1.5 tons capability. I have purchase it from a shop nearby and exchanged my old AC(Voltas) with Videocon AC. Now it's been more than 5 years and it is working in a very fine condition.

If you are the kinds who believe that only foren brands are good, you would be disappointed on reading my review. I brought this AC in, hold your breath, 2001, and believe me, it still cools just fine. Never had to do anything with the gas refilling etc. even though I have faced a long distance transfer. However, let me give the details here. Within a month or so of purchasing the AC, the display unit conked off. This was the year 2001, and Videocon replaced the entire display and gave me a new and better remote. The AC kep working fine untill 2013 when we moved long distance. Again, the display unit gave away. With practically no Videocon support, I got the entire display unit replaced with a new remote for about 1000 bucks and the AC is again working fine.

The secret to using any AC is to preferably use the sleep mode, not to use it with windows and doors open, and get it washed every year once. Besides, keep cleaning the pad and front metal grille about once a month or so, depending on your usage. Methinks, a little care of your electronic goods goes a long way.

We purchase this ac 2 years ago its working fine.it cool my room very fast. With in 10 min rooms temperature discrese.I don't have any complaint about this from 2 years.

Videocon is really so nice company. The custmor service is really nice too they provide best service.its sound is not too loud even I don't hear anything loud yet about it.

I have an Videocon window AC its is of 1.5 Ton, I have this one from the last three years, it is very good ac for me, I do not have any problem in this yet, videcon provide good service, it cools the room fast, it consume bit hugh electricity then the new split AC, but it has low price then the new technology and new split AC, it is not automatic off when the room is cooled.

Its weight is also bit high, the shape and design is good, I bought this from the local Videocon showrooms, Videocon has ahowrooms and service center in every city, videcon window ac don’t has remote control it is adjustable from the button which are provided on the AC.  I recommended it. The durability and reliability is very good of this AC, and the body material has good quality, it produces bit noise, it gives the value of money.

Plz dont buy this company itam. Its really so bullshit. The After sales Service of Videocon is worst like anything.

I have requested for 1st service, Videocon has sent the outsourced Service center guy.I would not recommend this airconditioner for anyone as I found dis one worse compare to others. Do Not buy any videocon product ever. buy any other like whirlpool or LG. After paying the pricce for the product, videocon product will be "BHAGWAAN BHAROSE".

Never buy videocon products no service. Every time I get same copy pasted message. I don't need technician. You technician already said compressor faulty. Where DO I COLLECT THE GOOD compressor? Don't need a technician need the compressor thats faulty replacement ty.

BWT yesterday some guy called and said ” we only service to Andheri area not Lalbaug- Parel and hung up! Lol! Pathetic service.

Whenever u will email them, they will forward it to the third party technician. In my case as technician identified compressor faulty. Videocon just keeps giving my number to diff technician and is doing time pass. Still 4 months warranty period is left.

The After sales Service of Videocon is worst like anything. I have requested for 1st service, Videocon has sent the outsourced Service center guy (PEARL HOME CARE, NEW DELHI). The guy asked me for advance for the job which he will be doing after 2 days. When I refused & said do the job & get money, he connected me to regional VIDEOCON guy, Who advised me that this COMPANY POLICY to collect advance.

I am really amazed & stressed buying a VIDEOCON product with this kind of IDIOTIC after sales service.

Will suggest DO NOT BUY VIDEOCON's AC.

Recently a year back I installed a videocon airconditioners. I would not recommend this airconditioner for anyone as I found dis one worse compare to others. The cooling system is ok but the sound quality is worse. the price is also in the higher side so please don't buy. The service is very poor. the quality is not good. I would say videocon for airconditioners stand nowhere in the market. the people if v call for the service they never come in time and d behavior is worse.

Do Not buy any videocon product ever. buy any other like whirlpool or LG.

After paying the pricce for the product, videocon product will be "BHAGWAAN BHAROSE". NO aftersales service, not listning to complaints, mails, SMS nothing. Read the below mail sent to customer care people. My complaint was not heard even 3 days after I lodged one, I was assured, it will be attended in 24 hrs, but now it's been more that 72 hrs and not EVEN a call back. they have verly low class service and poor quality products.

Even in cities like New Delhi, my complaint was never herd just imagine about other small towns and cities !!!

I brought Videocon split AC VKS52CE1(1.5 TON), believe me it was the worst decision I have made .The only thing that attracts you is the "Cheap Price".I thought since this is an indian company, must be having something good to offer

There is nothing good to discuss about this product . If there would have been an option, I would have rated it'0'

A . First day itself, the compressar was not in a good condition . We got it replaced

B. Makes hell of Noise

C. After 10 days, stopped cooling

D. Bad Customer service, they never responded to the complaint and it is 10 days, no one have approached us i.e. they dont value the customers.

E . They have a bad data management system, everytime you make a call, they will ask you the same details and will say that they have registered the complaint and someone will get back in 24 hrs

Thats all I have to say that this product is sheer waste of money, dont get attracted by the cheap price.

My other A.C. is bluestar. So, this is my reference point for rating videocon a.c.

The videocon A.C. makes hell of a noise. Moreover, it doesn't display the room temperature and displayes only set temperature. Even the temperature control is faulty since it'll run for the same amount of time whether you set 18 degree or 28 degree as room temperature.

Another shock is that if you set temperature as 24 and power goes off and on, the temperature is always reset to 18 degree. I complained to service centre but they say that it is the'normal' behaviour. Anyway, as I said earlier, the set temperature is useless in videocon a.c. With such poor quality products, I wonder how Vidoecon calls itself an Indian'MNC'!

I think it's better to go with an aircooler rather than a videocon a.c.

Late development - Videocon service guys had to change the PCB after I insisted on'set temperature' feature that I found working in my neighbour's Videocon AC. But my recommendation on videocon AC is remains unchanged - its too noisy with uneven cooling.

One buys a air-conditioner for comfort and for a perfect cool and noise free environment.I also wanted this and hence decided to buy a Videocon window airconditioner,model No VAW-1823,though my friends and people who had a knowledge of airconditioners and had used videocon airconditioners advised me against it. I bought two window airconditioner( Model No VAW 1823) .

First the units that were delivered to me were not the model I had asked for,then the unit sent as replacement were without a ionizer,when I spoked with their area manger I was told that these were better then VAW 1823 but were without ionizer,but when I explained that I required a ionizer,the replacements were again sent ,out of which one was a used unit,which again was replaced.

Though the cooling is satisfactory ,both the Airconditioners are making an array of sounds and the intensity is so much that they have to be switched off.

The technicians have come and seen the unit ,and have tried to stop the vibration,which according to them is coming from cooling coil,which in other models has support both from the top and bottom but in this there is no support at the top.I have tried to stop the noise by putting packing which soon gets displaced.

I have also taken feed back from others about Bluestar,LG,samsung,carrier A/s's performanace.and no one has any complaint about vibration. Really the experience with videocon has been really bad and if anyone wants to have a sleepless nights or has a tendency of falling sleep,then videocon A/c's are the best. Believe me they provide cool vibration and heavy metal music that to in surround sound mode.

The videcon technicians had come and seen and found that there were no support provided for the cooling coils and some rubber padding provided in earlier models was also not there.They have come and tried to rectify the same with some makeshift arrangement,but with no success.

It is an irony that companys change the specifications and for any fault that crops in the consumers has to suffer.It is said that the rotary compressor does not make a sound ,but the ones in the A/c,s given to me the compressor not only makes a sound when it engages * disengages ,but also there is a irritating hum which increases as the duration increases,which if seen otherwise is useful as you do not have to put a alarm to wake-you-up in the morning,the A/c's start making such a noise that one has to wake up and shut them off,is this not called personel engineering.

I have complained to the videcon service people ,but maybe they have all become deaf ,hearing the noise that their A/c's make.

After much persuation ,and repeated complaints ,they have changed both the A/c's with model No VAW 1833i,after taking the difference of price,which again I think was not jusrified as the mistake was not on my part,if there mdel are defective and has a design fault then by replacing the machine by similar machines makes no sense.I hope this type of design defects and attitude of putting their coustomers to trouble is not the case with their other products.I am now convinced that cheap is weak,and volumes in sale does not neccessarly make the product good.

Hi friends, from my very first savings of my hardly earned money I decided to buy a window air conditioner. After going through the technical details of quiet a few of them in the market, I opted for the videocon VNA1800 ELDXI window ac with remote, which has quietlucrative technical details.

I will describe all one by one:

1. Remote: The remote of the ac is a very desi one. Senses the command 2 in 10 times. It has a SEND key which has to be pressed if the ac doesn't recognize the command, then the command is SEND to the unit. In short you just cant press the button on the remote and be assured that the ac is performing the action you requested. You have to be on alert always.

   
   




2. Swing: Swing action cancels after auto restart.

   
   




3. Cooling: Temp range on the unit is from 18-30. I have got my room 100% sound and air insulated by professionals but till date when the outside temperature is 40 and inside (without ac running) is 34, the temperature dropped down by the ac is at 24 max and that also after the ac runs for approx one hour.

   
   




4. Power consumption: Thus the power consumption goes high irrespective of all the projected details as per the company.

   
   




5. Vibration and sound: The Unit's fan was hitting the cabinet when it came, got it corrected somehow, but, the vibration from the unit is so prominent that each and every person dropped in ever since I have purchased this unit has noticed it.

   
   




6. Current consumption:The current consumption is 11.6 Amps for my unit although the company claims 9.5 Amps.

   
   




7. Fan speed: There are three fan speeds which practically dont vary much.

   
   




8. Service: I had requested for a tech visit on the second day of purchase of the unit, annoyed by all the good features of the product. The guy came in after four days. For a brand new Defective ac making lot of noise with extra poor performance I had to wait for four flat days and chase different people and the dealer to get a tech to my house. Finally when the tech came in he tried to convince me on each and every issue rather looking for the fault and rectifying it. The service boy that came was trying to convince me and trying to get relief for his work by telling me- Sir machine hai itni awaaz to karegi hi etc.etc.

   
   

I had a very bad experience overall and would not recommend it to anyone but enemy. Anyone who wants to talk over the same, feel free.

I was anxiously looking for a 1.50 tonne split ac but at a good price - seen them all from LG, Samsung, Blue Star etc. But finally I realised that this is the best buy that one could get and at the most competitive price. This product unlike other ac's comes with a 6 year warranty for the compressor. Overall the dealer took over the moment if asked him to install - no excuses, no delays - timely installation within 5 hours. Soundless - excellent remote with a real time clock. Cools in no time. Elegant in looks. One reason of deciding on a videcon was that I already own a refrigerator of videocon.

Excellent air throw. Besides, videcon has a technical tie up with national.

The size of the room that the split a c has been installed in is : 21 feet x 14 feet.

Dealer networking is bad as most dealers prefer to suggest LG, Samsung etc.

Do not go by what is the product specifications mentioned on the videocon website - speak to the company or dealer as the product specification on the website does not totally tally with the actual specifications.
