It is not even a week since I bought this AC. On the day of installation itself there seems to be a problem with the Air Vent Lever. It acts like a spring does not lock in the "Open" or "close" position. I bought this product from "DAWARS OPEN WORLD" at MGF Tech Mall on MG Road Gurgaon.
Buyers Beware! this entire mall is occupied by DAWARS under different brand exclusive shop names!.
On detection of the first problem at installation, the dealer logged a complaint and assured me that an engineer will visit the next day. On the first night of operation, the AC refused to bring the temprature down below 27C and also there seemed to be "HOT AND COLD AREAS" IN THE ROOM! plus it takes almost 2 hours of operation for the room to become comfortable!. Next Day there was no sign of the engineer. After two days I visited the showroom and after a long discussion(argument) the dealer assured me that the engineer would visit on Sunday.
No sign of the engineer till late afternoon on Sunday. After several calls the engineer arrives in the evening just to tell me that the lever was manufactured that way. Untrue because the lever locks into both "open" and "close" positions on the display piece at "Vijay Sales". Regards the cooling, he splashes a MUG OF WATER! on the outer fan blades to cool the compressor!. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life.
He then proceeds to tell me that it is very hot outside therefore the AC is not effective! First of all I thought I purchased an AC not A WATER COOLER! Secondly, this AC is supposed to be a semi tropical AC supposed to work upto 48C. He then tells me that my room is too big.(Earlier a Whirlpool 1.5 Ton was cooling the same room effectively) Room size is 12X13 only.
After showing him the effectiveness of the 1 year old Whirlpool in the living cum dining(much bigger than the above room) he changed his statement on the report and said more senior engineers will visit. That was four days ago.No one has come to check from Sharp or called even. After SPLASHING WATER! the AC now cools the room upto 24C. Never gone below that no matter what temprature or setting it is set to.
After that I get Calls from Dawar every day from different people who enquire how the AC is running. I explained that problems still persist(Refer Cons). They acknolowdge and hang up. No solutions provided.
These people know nothing about customer service they only pretend by calling. I have decided to go to the consumer court which I am sure is already swamped with cases as I feel no one in our country cares about the customers. It is sad that we claim to be an emerging economy I SERIOUSLY doubt this and think we will never emerge out of'Disrespectfullness and inconsiderate behaviour"!
LAST PIECE OF ADVICE NEVER BUY FROM SMALL RETAILERS ESPECIALLY DAWARS! AND NEVER BUY A SHARP PRODUCT!
