The machine is a piece of garbage. The compressor collapsed within two months from the date of purchase despite of 10 years warranty.

If u buy just thing u r waste ur 40 thousand money. Very very bad reviews.  Samsung should stop manufacturing their AC. Worst thing I ever bought.

Poor performance and service

I purchased samsung split ac (model 185bsdnstl) 5 star 1.5 ton .It hardly worked for 3 summers. Later it started giving problems. It was inefficient in cooling and later it stopped working only.


I contacted the samsung service dept and was advised to contact the local Ahmedabad service center. They came on 13th of May, to check and sent me a quotation of Rs 7, 593, to repair the AC by replacing the defective cooling coil and to fill gas. I agreed to it . Later they arranged to send someone on a particular day.That particular day I applied for leave and stayed at home. Unfortunately the service person didn't arrive untill 6.00 pm in the evening.


When I inquired, they told me as there is no stock of cooling coil with them, so they will procure it later from other city. I was waiting till the month of June. Till today the samsung service dept never bothered to give me an exact date for the repair . When I contacted them on 9th of July 2014, they said as the complaint has become too old, I will be required to made another one and asked me to contact Mr. Hardik Mistry of service dept.I mailed him about the complain and the quotation, but still haven't heard from him. This is the way Samsung service dept of Ahmedabad, functions. Hence, beware of samsung products especially air conditioners.

Excellent AC! Using it for 3 months and it is working well. What do we expect from an AC? it should cool the room quickly and optimally, should consume less power, should be quieter, etc. This AC has all these functions. I also have Voltas and Carrier but this AC is lot better than them because of its low power consumption and quicker cooling capacity. Single user mode really saves electricity a lot. Air throw is excellent. The installation of AC was not very good by the service center guys but was also not very bad. I have not required to call them yet but will see how they service the AC as it seems they do not have enough knowledge of inverter ACs as it is a new concept for them. One thing more, it is one and only AC in the market which gives 10-year warranty on compressor. Overall, I am very very satisfied with the AC and would highly recommend it. Purchase price 45000+ 1200 installation+ 1800 for copper pipe and wire.

My feedback is to never buy any Samsung AC, as their after sales service is very bad. I bought this AC last month for which I was charged 8000/- for installation(no free copper pipe with inverter AC). Within a month its gas leaked and after calling numerous times(over a week) to their service center I am getting no help. I seeked help from Croma(as I bought it from them), but it didn't work out as well.After all this I feel cheated and would strongly recommend not to take any Samsung ACs.

Raise a month back. Till date nobody came to check the AC. Everyday I make call to customer service, they say somebody from authorized service center will call back but nobody calls. Next day again same situation.


After many fed up days, raised to customer service manager, Two managers spoke but same situation. and after couple of days, these managers too avoided taking my call. I was told that they are either not available or at another call.I am still waiting for Samsung worst engineer service.


Please dont buy Samsung ACs. But if you do, use and throw it. Don't go for the service.

Hi, This is Gaurav Jadhav from Ahmedabad. I have purchased Samsung AC ( date :02.05.2014) which was installed some 20 days back but since five days I am not getting proper cooling at any mode so we lodged a complain with your customer care (date : .29.05.14) I was assured that my problem will be resolved within 24hr, next day your service engineer visited but he did nothing & told us that next day someone will visit  us since he is not equipped to resolve this issue. Next day nobody turned up so I called your customer care (Date.31.05.14) & again they assured that someone will visit us on Sunday (Date.01.06.14) before 12 in the morning again nobody turned up, I called your customer care & was promised again that someone will visit before 8Pm the same day & the cycle continued. Today again I called your customer care now at this time they have told me that there is some gas leakage problem and I have to pay for the gas refill charges.


Why gas leakage test had not been done at the time of installation? Please explain why I should pay. It's a brand new AC, installed by your engineer, no breakage or damage was caused, it is very clear that this is caused because of the improper installation, done by your man. What happened to my warranty?


Or is it’s my mistake that I selected Korean brand over Japanese. I want prompt response on this or I will be forced to drag my case to consumer court.

Don't buy Samsung AC, it is the worst. Samsung has the worst customer service. So people if you don't want to regret don't buy Samsung products.


At the time of this hot weather I am facing too much problems with Samsung AC. Customer care is misguiding us from the last 4 weeks to repair my AC. Your local dealer doesn't even have the manners to talk to the customer, he is saying whatever you want to do just do it I will not do it.


Our AC has gas leakage and your rude people are just misguiding us and giving time to come everyday and nobody turns up. I am so dissatisfied with the customer service.

It is true that indoor unit is smaller and only 7 cm wider than the One Ton Samsung Inverter ac. I ordered earlier model AR18HV5NBWK but got this instead. This was the first surprise. AR18HV5NBWK was replaced by Samsung with AR18HV5NFWK.


I learnt that the spec of AR18HV5NBWK was available on the 1.5 ton with Virus Doctor Model. So it is clear that Samsung is encouraging customers to buy the high end model. This model cooling is direct and only serves particular area.


Not good! Received faulty unwarranted wrong model split inverter air conditioner from snapdeal.com. Today they did reverse pickup. I will update once they refund.

I visited M/S Ratana Stores for selecting a Split air on 14-03-2014. In my mind I wanted to buy " O "General  or LG 1.5 ton. Before making up my mind I had read all product reviews. Since the stock was not available I was about to leave the stores then I meet Mr.Deepak the sales representative. He suggested me to look at AR18HV5NBWKNNA model in book let and explained me about the new modifications in model and it's advantages from different model. I paid INR 41850/- but delivery and installation was done after 2 days.


The installation staff was not committed they charged around 4500/-  saying various reasons. Till then A/C is working perfect and noise level is very less. Air flow is superb and chills faster and cuts off. I find the 5 star rating is working well because the electric charges are less. I feel that I made correct choice.

Frequent gas leakage problem with Samsung AC.

I had purchased 1.5 Ton Samsung Split AC model AS185UGF in March 2012 from the dealer: Labh Electronics (Gorwa, Baroda). We had a cooling problem right after the installation. So, the service folks came and took the outdoor part (compressor unit) to their service station. They told that there was a gas leakage problem and that the issue has been fixed. But it was only later that we realized that this was just a temporary fix. The same problem propped up again and this time, since it was past warranty period of 1 year, they are charging us INR 7500 for the fix. I called their customer care service, the representative told that the complaint (#8440942146) has been escalated and that I'd receive a call from the respective authority within 30 mins. But I never received any call!


I am shocked how a reputable firm such as Samsung can allow such unethical practices in its business! They should have replaced the entire compressor part if it was faulty in the first place, instead of temporarily fixing it. And secondly, an average customer cannot afford to pay 7500 every year to get the same problem (i.e. gas leakage) fixed. You'll find that this is a systematic problem that a lot of customers are facing (due to a poor design choice: preferring cheap aluminum condenser over other alternatives).


If there is one thing that I have to recommend it is this: Please stay away from ACs that use Aluminum condensers (most of Samsung ACs). You'll face frequent gas leakage problems that will cost you heaps!

I have been using this Samsung 1.5 TR CRYSTAL+ AR18FC5EFBH Split AC since the last year and I must say I am not satisfied with this AC since the installation of the product.


The installation guys came from an agency called Nice Cooling hired by Samsung in Kolkata and they did an unprofessional work at installing the AC. They attached 5 feet of extra tubing from the outdoor unit(which I take as their attempt at making some extra money off the installation) but they didn’t charge the extra coolant required for extra piping, hence the cooling was not up to the mark.


I complained to Samsung and Nice Cooling and they both had a disagreement among themselves to the point where a technician from Nice Cooling told me, “Sir please KICK out any Samsung engineers who visit your house and don’t let them touch your AC”


Anyways, it finally took me emailing the CEO and other higher authorities of Samsung to get the issues resolved, but the initial hiccup was frustrating and Samsung should hire much more professional and able service techs to carry on their product installation. Cooling is just about okay but often times I find the compressor failing to start at the first go.


Update as on 18/03/2014


It has been not even a year that I purchased the Samsung AC and it has already stopped cooling. When I start the AC, the fan starts at full speed and after running for 3-4 mins, the speed of the fan suddenly drops, then after running at the lowest speed, the fan speed suddenly increases and all this while the compressor doesn’t start.


I restarted the AC and after 3-5 mins of the fan running, I felt the compressor starting and a mild and slow hissing sound – which used to be sharper and much prompt initially(the sound of the gas parsing in the coils) – but still no cooling, then again running for couple of mins, the fan speed drops.


Have called in the technicians who haven’t visited yet, but my guess is Gas leakage, which is a very very common complaint with Samsung AC owners. My AC is still within warranty, so not sure if I have to pay for the refill, but nevertheless, this put a really bad taste in my mouth for Samsung ACs


So I’d wholeheartedly advise, request, insist the readers NOT to go for Samsung ACs no matter how much they boast of their improved technologies or features. If an AC can’t hold it’s coolant for more than a few months, it’s just a piece of junk.

My experience with SAMSUNG Split AC (1.5 ton 5 star rating, AS122USDNSTL ) is very bad.


I brought a new Samsung Split A/C on June 2012.


On march 2nd 2014 , it started giving problem.


There was a problem in cooling. It was blowing hot air.


And Samsung authorized service executive visited my place to check it and i was explained that there is a leak in the AC gas and that is the reason for the low cooling. And he said it is due to leak in the coil (CONDENSER-COIL). It was suggested that it will cost approximately INR 5200 for the repair.


As purchased samsung brand, I expected the quality of the product would be much more than this. Because it has not even 2 year from the purchase date.


When i brought the AC in 2012, I was given a oral assurance from the dealer that i will not get any major deficit or major maintenance expense.


The product is not satisfying. And explanation was even worst, When I had a word with the customer care executive over the phone, He tried to convince me saying that electronic products would be like this only.


My suggestion would be don't go for SAMSUNG AC, GO for some other brand.

My experience with SAMSUNG Split AC (AS183BSDNXTL 1.5 ton) is very very bad. I have been using for past many many years different branded AC's,  window & split of foreign origin and Indian brand which had never given me any trouble.


About 2 1/2 years ago I exchanged one of my good running AC with SAMSUNG Split AC for the simple reason that the older one was a window AC ( which I had used for about 15 years trouble free) and with split AC I could sleep without the compressor noise running in the bed room. But let me mention here the worst decision I made was choosing the SAMSUNG Brand. Within 21/2 years the outdoor unit condenser coil has got damaged (due to usage there is wear and tear) as per SAMSUNG & their service agents.


The quality of the aluminum coil is so poor that the coil developed a leak under normal usage under normal environment conditions in Chennai city  Even though I had a detailed discussions with SAMSUNG people, they refused to accept or make any considerations and I had to pay about Rs.6, 500.00 to get it back to working condition.


The purpose of writing this review is to inform people the experience I had using a SAMSUNG Brand AC. Not worth the hard earned money we spent on SAMSUNG. Spend a couple of thousand more and get good brand which will give atleast 5 years trouble free service.


I am still using window AC's (not SAMSUNG) which are more than 20 years and have never given me any trouble.

Making sound and its taking too much of time for cooling.So regarding that we were giving a complaint to the service people. They are coming but charging too much of service charges for every visit. So I got frustrated in this regard and that's why I am posting this review.

Never ever think of wasting your money by buying a Samsung AC. We bought the AC during May 2012 and have been facing issues with it since then and have been servicing it every 3 months.


It is better to live in a room temperature than investing on this and paying the monthly electricity bills. Better to keep our mouth shut than wasting our money.

I purchased this Samsung Ac  AW182ZA window ac, 1.5 tons and honestly I am ha with its performance. I purchased it for 17, 000 rs and must say its value for money. I didn't have any problem so far. I called samsung people for servicing and they are prompt and good.


I feel if you service your AC from time to time it can have a nice long life. Always call the authorised people.

I bought a Samsung Split AC, 1.5 ton from Great Eastern Trading, Garia, Kolkata last year on 11th March of model AS185EWH. Within 1 week of buying the AC, it started giving problem of cooling. The AC was sent to the workshop and after 5 days it was returned back to us saying that there was problem of gas leakage. Now after 1 year in March we started having the same problem of cooling.


Lodged a complaint and was sent to the workshop again but these time they said that there was problem of gas leakage again.Also the indoor and outdoor unit was given back with lot of scratches.Had lodged a complaint at the call centre but no affect.Again now I am facing the same problem of cooling from today. Have lodged a complaint vide. complaint # 8972839049.The technical people from Samsung came today but could not identify the issue.Said that the units have to be sent to the workshop again. Frustrated, frustrated and finally frustrated again.


Please do not buy any Samsung products.Service and product quality pathetic.Even I am thinking of going to the consumer court. Within 1 year and 3 months of buying, had to send at the workshop thrice.


Buy only if you can service the AC yourself!!

I bought Samsung AC AS182UBF, 1.5 tonnes split, in March 2012. It started giving problems April '13 onwards. Their engineers could not identify the problem in the first 2 visits and in the third visit they took away the PC card, leaving the indoor unit open and totally non-functional. Now its been a week and their is no news from the service center. After repeatedly calling customer care, they say the part is not available.


Service center, customer care and the engineer are clueless, all saying problem will be resolved within a few hours, just keep giving out complaint numbers and confirming profile details. Samsung has turned out to be totally inconsiderate towards customers!!


Really Lousy Service... Best to stay away!!
