POOR LG SERVICING OF WINDOW AC

I have got a new AC from LG 5 days before called LG customer care for installation for three days no technician have come from lg so I have to finally install my ac from Air X enterprises khadki .After starting the ac the ac is not doing cooling at all.


Again gave a call to Lg customer care it has been more than 1 days but no technician have come yet to repair it.The lg service in my opinion is really very bad.

I was a fan of LG and accordingly I purchased AC of LG. Next year I again purchased same product of LG. But to my utter surprise I was shocked to get three different rate three times from one service centre for servicing of my ACs.


I put service request vide request number RNA 150502072690. Everythime I was offered different rate for servicing of AC and I um utter confused, that whether I had purchased a product from one reputed MNC or a local product from local supplier.


Height of this was that my request was turned down on account of higher charges, while it was a case of unfair pricing and unfair dealing.


Will LG service department or top management will look into the same and make us feel proud for buying lg product. It is really pathetic.

I use it only in the Summers. Mine is a 3 star window. Power consumption is relatively low and quality cooling. Very quite and decent power usage. Its a great respite for heated Summers. It has different mode of operations depending upon requirements. The energy mode is a big plus. Servicing requirements are minimal and can be easily cleaned by self.


It has anti bacterial filter. Energy efficiency ratio is 2.60 which is very good.

Summer already started and really been hot in Mumbai sweating and body water level down can't even walk half a mile in such hot weather.Its so hot environment that even fans are useless.its time for in demand of AC which makes you feel alive in hot summer.


I have LG brand window AC in my bedroom I bought it around 4 years back in Diwali offer for Rs 13000 its a 1.5 ton AC with 4.5 star saving energy.now-a-days buying high star electronics product is very essential as it saves a lot of your energy and keeps your electricity bills low.


My window AC is running smoothly without any issues I haven't called a mechanic for it till now its been 4 years its really very efficient and high quality products with ultimate features.the cooling speed is really high it cools my room at 24 temp very quickly. It's fan made is nice and swing make all round cool fresh air that helps to make the room cool fast.


The AC easily controlled by Remote and timer feature helps to set the time for how much time you need to have AC after that it will automatically shut offs.


A highly recommended product low cost with a high quality product with low maintenance I would rate this product 4 out of 5.must buy it.

Beware of LG products from Snapdeal

-I have purchased LG 1.5 ton 4 star window AC from Snapdeal.


-Snapdeal does not sell it directly, but through unknown dealer in New Delhi.


-They took seven days to deliver from Delhi, with many bumps and front grill breakages.


-The so called video uploaded by snapdeal is all bullshit.


-The transporter M/s Bluedart did not handle by package professionally.


-I phoned LG call centre for installation service.


-The moment I said that I purchased through snapdeal, my phone was disconnected by LG customer care and was kept in debarred list.


-I then called the dealer in Delhi. He said that do not say that you purchased through Snapdeal, then they will give service.


-I again called LG call centre without mentioning Snapdeal and then they sent LG service dealer to install my AC.


There are some basic design faults in AC such as


1) The sheet metal casing is very weak.


2) The front grill is flimsy and very weak. It was broken before installation in transit.


3) The cool air comes through compartment lined with bare thermacole. I noticed that some good manufacturers provide plastic casing above bare thermacole lining. As I understand thermocole cannot take wear and tear as it is very soft material. The lever for intake air is also located in this lining which can easily wear out over time.


4) The drain hole is located 5 mm above bottom of evaporation collection tray. That means water will always remain in tray and  cannot be fully drained. This will be main cause for corrosion of the bottom tray.


5) The holes for installation are not provided at right places and are very small. The installer has to drill hole through sheet metal to install the AC. No specifications are given for size of screws nor any screws provided.


6) The personnel who came for installation were not properly trained by LG. They were hammering the wooden screws and even were not knowing where to put line and neutral.


It looks like that LG is not concentrating on product design.


Overall bad experience of Snapdeal and LG.

LG 1.5 Ton Window AC

After so much thinking and research, I finally bought LG 1.5 ton window ac (lwa 5cs3f).I have been using it for 1 month. My room is 150 sqft, west facing, lot of isolation during afternoon. But ac takes 20 mins to bring the temperature to 23 c. Rating is 3 star with err of 3.01, maximum power consumption is 1610 watts, 200 watts less than a 2 star ac, and with rapid cooling, it saves power too.


I use it for 7-8 hrs a day and on electric meter it never exceeds more than 9 units.I bought it for 24200, though now it is 1000 bucks cheaper. Worth a buy!

I purchased a LG window ac 1.5 ton from New Delhi, on 25th May 2013.You people are so selfish that:


You even did not provide the small pipe for draining the water which comes out of ac when we run it.


You provide only one meter wire with the ac, I had to arrange another one meter wire by roaming in my area for an electric shop. And now after connecting the wire, it does not look good because the wire joint ruined the show of the wire. If you need more money then tell us we will give you more for the long wire.


You even didn't provide the plug, which I had to arrange myself.These small things leave big impact on the customer's minds.

I bought the LG AC Model LSA18TWAS1, AA44DR1(IN) bearing S. No 803ABVW019639 on 28th March 2009. It was the most worst choice I made.


From the very first day it started giving trouble. Compressor went off the very first day. Anyhow after reporting the matter to Service Center, the guy came to check in. He made certain adjustment and it started working. As I was in Bangalore for last couple of years, the AC was not much in use. But this year when we shifted to Delhi, I got it de-installed and installed from the LG Service Guy.


While installing the AC, the service guy told me that whoever de-installed it had done it in a very bad manner and gas needs to be refilled. Point taken I got the gas refilled. Then he told me that the copper pipe has developed a technical snag and it needs to be replaced. It was replaced and the guy took 5000/- INR all in all for the service, installation as well as replacement. Anyhow 20 days passed and suddenly the AC started giving warm air. Again called up the service center on 24th May 2013. The service guy walks in and says the fan motor is at fault and needs to be replaced. Took 450/- INR as visit charge and told me that when the part gets replaced it will be deducted. Point taken, I waited for him to bring in the part.


After multiple calls, new service guy comes in on 26th May 2013 and after his evaluation comes up with a conclusion that fan motor is working fine but the power controller needs to be replaced. I waited and followed up multiple times since then and there had been no update since then. This is how the latest series of incidents followed:




  1. Friday May 24th 2013 – Issue was reported.Complaint Number is RNA130524066788.




  2. Saturday May 25th 2013 – Technician Harish having phone number 8506097461 came in the evening and checked and informed Fan Motor is not working and needs to be replaced. Takes away the visiting charges of Rs 450/-.




  3. Monday May 27th 2013 - Technician Deepak having phone number 8506097454 comes in and checks the AC again and tells that Fan Motor is perfectly fine and power controller is not functioning. It needs to be replaced.




  4. Tuesday May 28th 2013 – I log a reminder for replacement in the evening.




  5. Wednesday May 29th 2013 – Call center informs that there is no status update available on the complaint and they are logging a new complaint






Now even after multiple followups no one has the idea that what needs to be done but I am sure that I will not buy or recommend anyone LG products. If LG guys don't know what is wrong with the product, God forbid others from buying LG products.

Bought a lg for brother for his wedding, but we received a defective piece. we replace it. again same problem. there was too much noise coming in. Finally, we asked for money back. We bought a new AC which works fine now.


First experience was bad with LG.

I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. I had this ac in my office, but after few weeks it started making noises. The after sale service was also poor and it wasn't up to the mark.


We immediately switched to another ac, spent some more money and bought a Daikin instead.


The soundless cooling was then received from Daikin.


LG Split AC

I purchased 1.5 ton split ac before one month, but this time my AC is not cooling well, LG Company is good but I don, t know about AC. LG Customer care are not support me. He said that AC is good working. But my advice not go with LG Split AC. Compare Voltas AC I think Voltas cooling is good.


I am very unhappy with LG AC.


I know split AC noise is very low my advice cooling is not good.

LG is getting worse every day. They will be history in few years the way they are handling customer. They took my AC for repair and never returned. They lost it. And refused to take any action or accept their fault. Now I will have to file case in consumer forum to recover the loss and wait for years for the case to conclude. They ruined my summer totally.


Never buy any LG product. You will be struggling to get the service.


LG - Third Rate After Sales Service

I purchased LG AC 1.5 Ton LWA19F2RDE5. Gas leaks from this AC every year. Worried about this, I took a prepaid AMC for this after the warranty was over. Following will tell you about there service standard.




  • 27th May Morning - I lodged a complaint that my AC is not cooling.




-27th May 1500hrs - I received request number RNA120527071427.


-29th May 1600hrs - An engineer calls me up and tells me that he will come on 30th.


I insist that the requirement is urgent so he comes on 29th evening and says that AC will need to be taken to the workshop. Despite being in AMC, transportation charges are taken from me in advance. Upon asking if these shouldn't be paid after repair, I am told, this is company policy. If I don't pay transportation charges in advance, AC won't be repaired. So I pay up.


-30th May - Nothing happens. Nobody picks up the AC. Nobody calls for when it would be pickedup.


-31st May 1700hrs - I am told that AC will be picked up next day. Can't be picked up today because it is already 5PM. I am promised that it will be delivered back repaired within 01 day of pickup.


-01 Jun 1200hrs - AC is picked up. On the pick up challan is written very very urgent.


-04 Jun 1200 hrs - AC has not yet come back after filling up the gas. I call up maintenance center and they say they will call me back after finding out the details or I should call after 01 hour. I call up again after one hour and I am told to call after lunch.


I have already spend hours of my time and money in calling up the maintenance workshop and the engineer who visited. Any time you call up customer care you feel they don't care. For everything there answer is, we will contact you in 48 hours. So in this Delhi Heat with temperature of 45 degree plus, I am without an AC for 09th day today.


I made a mistake of buying an LG product. I won't repeat this mistake. I hope this review helps potential customers in realizing that LG after sales service is of no use at all.

I have LG AC at home and since it is not working, I had placed a compliant for AC repair and an service engineer showed up to check the AC. He asked whether I have an AMC for which I showed him the AMC certificate which says valid till June 25th 2013. He took the Photocopy of the same and left came back after two days saying he needs the receipt for the same. I gave the receipt which he took photocopy filled the gas and left.


Next day he came back and told there was a mistake from LG end, the AMC was valid for 1 year only but by mistake printed for 3 years. I have to pay 1750.I said I need to talk to the manager. He put me through a supervisor who started saying I showed a fraud certificate of AMC .I said what LG send me by courier is what you had.You came here 3 days to verify the document, took the photocopy verified and then filled the gas. Now if I have to pay I will do only when I receive a revised AMC copy from LG with the bill for 1750- which you say I have to pay.


The supervisor disconnected the phone ordered the service guys to forcefully remove the gas from the AC. The guys came had a scuffle with the security and removed the gas from AC and left.


What kind of people you LG has for servicing? For a mistake from LG end , why should I pay the brunt.


I am trying to escalate the issue to the managers and spoke to atleast 2 and send many mails with out any response. They hear and disconnect the call.


The service is outsourced and all want to make money which is not billed.Never take an AMC for any products from LG and their within 24 hrs.


I have registered a complaint in consumer forum and awaiting the response


Such a bad service experience with LG and their hollow service excellence claims

LG AC simply does not cool!

Never buy any LG product. I am suffering a lot because of LG AC. Buy Voltas or Samsung AC. My AC does not cool especially during summers or peak temperatures. It works fine(Cools!) during winters. Customer service is pathetic and refuses to help. The product is of very low quality and so is their service.


If LG really wants to help indian consumers, it should stop selling its products in india and go back to korea.

My lg window ac went out of order 15 days back . I contacted call cent re no.012039010909 thrice and lodged complaint but neither any reference no. Was given. Ultimately 4th time , ie on 9th may i was able to get a complaint no. --1105059060596. Later on next day some one visited and inspected ac and said that he will provide repair estimate shortly . When no one called up i started contacting call centre and every


Time the sterio type reply was that - your complaint will be resolved in next 24 hours . But that moment never came . Today again i contacted call centre and requested the person to connect me to senior person as i wanted to escalate the problem . But he was very rude and refused to connect me to senior .


After lot of persuasion he gave me a number --07838651632. But this number was never picked up--rather disconnected abruptly . Two sms sent on this number were also not responded .i again sent a sms on this no. At 6 pm which also met the same fate . Will you respond lg ?

When I purchased an lg washing machine I saw that some parts of the machines are not there. When I complaint to the customer care the engineer of the company cam aftter 8 days of complain registration.


I don't like the products of lg and I never recommend it to anyone. That's my final decision.


Good Cooling, Low Noise, HUGE electricity bill

Brought a LG Window AC( TWO STAR RATED), good product, 1.5 tones of cooling, good enough to cool a room of approx 250 sq ft. Brought it just before the current year's torturous summer started.so the cooling of this AC was like heaven! So much that my family ended up using this AC for hours on end! At the end of the second month, with nearly 8-10 hours of usage daily.we got a HUGE bill of Rs.7500!( without AC our bill used to be around Rs.2000 per month!)


Now we are careful not to use this AC unless really required, to use it between 23-25 degrees setting, and above all to use the "ENERGY SAVER" mode!


@ the Energy Saver mode, My AC behaves funny, it gives sufficient cooling, then the compressor stops, only to restart after a few minutes, and at times it starts barely for 10-15 seconds before going in energy saver mode again! Don't know whether this is normal operation.


BTW.beware of products you buy from Vijay Sales, they gave me an AC which conked off within 15 days. When the LG engineer inspected it, he said entire coil is rusty, and leakage of gas took place. Even he was surprised how Vijay Sales could sell such a product, as per him the AC was of an old stock and shouldnt have been sold to the customer.


After a few follow up LG replaced my AC with a new one.

AMC is more bad money after good money with LG

We bought this a/c and we have subscribed to their AMC. They promise prompt service and replacement of parts.Their service is very poor during AMC. They do not care to respond to calls. They do not replace any parts during AMC. They do not even carry out any service inspections etc that they promise. AMC is more bad money after good money. Want comfort forget LG and buy another Air conditioner additionally.


The service engineer is scared to replace parts as they are instructed not to recommend replacement during AMC. If the product is not under AMC, replacement is instantaneous. AMC is more for the service agency to make money not for supporting the customer.


Well this appears same as Hyundai where again service is for agencies to earn not for customer comfort


Lg.Life is good as per their advt only for them.

For want of a ladder and one more assistant our ac is not serviced even after repeated reminders .How can life be good? I am over 78= and the service personnel expects me to be his assistant and he demands me to get him a ladder then only they will service the AC. Life how can it be good. Why say Life is Good? for whom for the mfr, seller and the employees but not for the customers. I request through your column The Lg company to look into my matter with utmost kind and prompt response.
