I have been using 1 lg 1.5 ton and 3 lg 1 ton acs for 1 and a half year and all I can say is I am impressed.


I have taken 3 star and 2 star acs and its really taking care of electricity bill.


You would need to bargain when you are buying them, I bought all of them together so got a very good deal.


I would say that LG ACs are a good deal, cost effective and low maintaneance.

Installation by LG is Nightmare

We purchased the LG Split AC on October 24th 2010 from Vijay Sales, Mahim Branch at Mumbai. It was delivered on the next day. Till today, that is, November 3rd, 2010 it is not installed. We have made more than 50 calls to LG Care and Vijay Sales. One technician (named Majid) called up and took a time for doing the work. I took leave from my office and he failed to turn up. Ultimately LG gave us the telephone number of the company Space Engineering (Bandra East Tel 6420 1661) who would do the installation. They sent another technician (Maurya) who came, roamed around our flat and left. LG is prompt in sending the request number by SMS and closes it without any tangible action.


According to the LG customer care the latest such request number is showing the status as the machines are yet to be delivered !!! Both LG and Vijay Sales lack complaint escalation processes and customers would be helpless. Let me see when and how my ordeal gets over.


The earlier post was as of Nov 03, 2010. I would like to update the readers that the installation has been done on the next day. It was resolved by the Vijay Sales Customer Care and I must thank Ms. Parita who took initiative in resolving. The conclusion is LG customer care has become totally rotten. They have completely out sourced and have absolutely no control. I have other LG products and another AC from LG. Their customer service was very good till one year ago.


While installing, the semi skilled technicians have cracked the front panel but I have little hope that LG would be replacing it, though it is the fault of their authorised technicians.

I have purchased the LG AC on 17th march in Madurai for 28k including stabilizer +1k for installation. Initially my choice was Onida super cool model but in some outlets, it was out of stock and in some other outlets they couldn’t promise me the next day installation. I didn’t even consider any other AC as my favorite brands OG and Hitachi were not in my budget though I have helped few of my friends to get these brands.


Now I started looking at other brands. All 5 star ACs were good and there were no major drawbacks as far as I inquired with one of leading AC mechanic in Madurai who is in this business for past 15 years. I have been informed that Voltas had a Chinese and LG, SAMSUNG with Korean compressors. Onida was told to have Hitachi compressor but I couldn’t get that confirmed in any Onida catalogues or in their websites. Ondia was priced at 28500 and Hitachi was at 34000. If Onida has Hitachi compressor then an unanswered questions would be why there is such a huge price difference and how Hitachi will allow one of its competitor to have its renowned compressor?


Whirlpool was ruled out though I found that brand in almost all shops and heavily advertised. I didn’t get any feedback about their success in air conditioning. Same applied to Videocon as well. Godrej was seldom mentioned or recommended and I didn’t want to go for it despite dealer told they have come up with new and better models. I got convinced that they didn’t have any best model so far and hoping the current models will be better. Samsung and LG were left with and I didn’t think twice in finalizing LG.


I have helped lot of people in getting electronic products and LG products hold the majority in them. Whatever LG products I recommended or purchased, didn’t have any issues and was running fine so didn’t hesitate going for LG again. Samsung products always had one or other feature lacking as per my experience and I didn’t want to get things complicated by selecting it. Most of the features were identical with Onida super cool models except there were some additional features. LG has jetcool option similar to Onida’s supercool. The main feature that stands out between these two brands were LG has 4 way swing where in Onida has only 2. It will surely be major advantage in air circulation within the room.


There is additional anti rust coating in the aluminum fins of the compressor which will be surely keep outdoor unit corrosion free amidst rains. Very few products worry about outdoor unit as well. There is couple of filters named anti-bacterial and deodorizer filter. Apart from this, the other features seem to be common and available on all air conditioners despite their brand. It has dual display with room and set temperature. It also displays whether the out door unit is running or not. It has been almost one month and didn’t have any issues and no disturbing sound while running so you can sleep peacefully.


The Installation was also done in a professional way and they have also explained the usage, Dos and Donts. Make sure you have the required wiring done before the installation guys come. Also on the part of Stabilizer make sure you get proper warranty as there are many brands which gives 2 yrs replaceable warranty. If you are going for branded one also make sure whether it works on low voltage, if the power supply is fluctuating in your area.

Nice looks. Better than what you see in the picture.Fantastic coollling (My room is 10X14/Celing is 10.5 Ft). Cools to 23deg in 10 mins.Displays.Very less noise.Outdoor unit also sounds less.Price Rs.29500/-.Brought from Kishika Temperatures. Vasai.


Installation done by LG personnel.Excellent installation.Very decent wiring.


Do not forget to ask your installation guy to do a U bent. Always put your outdoor unit at a level below the indoor unit.This helps in preventing the oil from entering the indoor unit in case of oil leakage from the outdoor unit. Also U bent is to prevent the same if your outdoor unit is above the level of indoor unit.I have removed all the unnecessary stickers from the indoor unit.It gives your unit a fresh look. Especially remove the 3 Free service sticker.


Installation charges 1250+750 for outdoor units brackets.


Displays when outdoor unit is On/Off.

With reference to your mail, i would like to write my review share my feelings with you at this movement.


1.i have purchased this lg split -1ton - a/c by 2006, by the time in local market and agencies, said, this lg product is very good!. So that, i have purchased this lg air conditioner.


2.by the way, this product advertisement will came on all medias. I was attracted. But, after buying this, installation itself not done by properly by the service person and no body can give any kind of demo for this product. From the initial stage itself, i am not getting proper cooling with this a/c. And i call the service people by making so many calls, they don't respond me. I don't like this kind of bad services from the lg people and there is no value for money for getting this kind of junk product.


For the very 1st year, as per the company warranty catalague says, 3 free services will be done from the date of purchase. But, that itself these service people will not done whenever i called him. Also, when i switch on the a/c, within 10 minutes the water will come out from the bottom of the flips and flooded into the floor. Immediately i have switched off my a/c. So far, nobody can attend this fault. After service is very worst, in my opinion, before buy this kind electronic products, better consult with others who knows clearly about this product. Now a days, most of the leading companies, after getting good will / name with the customers. Their is no quality of product; only brand name is available. This kind of brand name is attracted by so many people like me.




  1. Why i choose this lg brand is the agencies people said, this lg a/c is very good product. After service also very good. The price, maintenance cost will be very less when compare to other products. And the aesthetic look is very much attracted me. For this, i prefer to purchased this product.




Finally, i would like to say in my 2 years experience, i have spent for repair cost for this lg a/c. To the non lg service person. I can't able to use this a/c machine for a long. And i would like tell to public, please buy reliable products only. Otherwise, you people cheated like me.

WORST AFTER SALES CUSTOMER SERVICES OF LG PRODUCTS

I have bought Split AC (Jet Cool model C186KLA2) last month i.e. 06 May 07. But I am facing problem in AC from day 1 which do happen to new product but at rear occasion. However, renowned firm should have exceptional after sale support services to satisfy their valuable customers later on. On the contrast, the way customer services provided to me is eye opener for others who intend to buy LG products in future. The customer services of LG at Pakistan had bypassed all the norms of the business.


I don’t want to go into details of all which will be quite shameful for LG as it will disclose the methods of swindle being applied by customer service personnel to customers and unprofessional competence of their technicians & authorized installer. Briefly, after more than 150 calls & frequent pursuance, the customer service in Pakistan has provided me used one and down model i.e. KLA1 against my new and up model i.e. KLA2. Prior replacement, they told me that they are going to replace my defective AC with same model and only less than one month used AC installed in the office of their branch manager.


I accepted their offer because I already had enough mental tension and fatigue to resolve this issue. But, It was to my surprise when I saw AC installed by them is quite old and also, model is KLA1 instead of KLA2. At net shell, I got old and down model split AC in lieu of my new and up model Split AC KLA2. I had emailed Customer Service Department of LG Head office Korea i.e. Mr. Sohn : csson@lge.com & Mr. Kim : lodite@lge.com to seek justice but nobody bothered to respond to me.


I was in contact with Mr. Muad Ali email: muadali@lge.com , probably looking after online customer service affair of Middle East Region in which Pakistan is included. But one week back, he emailed me and said that he called on all my given telephone numbers (also indicated in email my numbers in which he tried to contact me) but could not able to contact me. In returned I emailed to him that you tried to contact me on my land lines. You should have contacted on my mobile which I had already given to you along with land lines. After this he is quite for about one week. I may advice to LG Head Office at Seoul, Korea, to take serious note of it, otherwise slowly and gradually other firms will snatched the market of LG product. I need justice nothing else by getting replacement of same model.


WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

LG has the WORST Customer Service in India. I took 2 Split AC's and 1 window AC for my home. I had to get a split AC reinstalled in another room and it took them 1 WHOLE week and that too after 15 CALLS TO ALL OFFICES ACROSS LG AP(Higher rung). The service centre doesnt bother about teh ONLINE complaints and the LG service INCHARGES depend on teh SERVICE centres.


This despite their 24 Hour Attend to guarantee. it is HONORED always in the BREACH.


Then my  window AC went for a TOSS. It took me 2 days to get the service centre guy to my house and he just said voltage tripping and went OFF without bothering to check the whole AC. No wonder in a day again it BROKE down and again the same old story. No RESPONSE to the online complaints. Service Centre doesnt bother to lift PHONES, infact their lines and cell numbers are PERENNIALLY BUSY. Finally after 2 more days, the guy turns up and says AC LEAKAGE. this despite the servicing being done just a fortnight back. he says he will send guy to replace it early in MORNING and till now he hasnt turned up and it is 6 pm on 27th May.


The WORST thing is that they say they will come and make you sit at HOME and they dont turn up., Being summer, my family has been OUT and I have to take leave from office to SIT Up for IRRESPONSIBLE LG Technicians who do not understand the FOLLOWING:


1) Sense of Time


2) Responsibility towards Customer


3) Loyalty to their company


4) Meaning of the word "Service"


I cant blame the technicians since they are always kids and they really work hard, but it is the CARELESS attitude of MGMT that pains me. I registered complaint on site as well to NO USE.


I asked call centre guy to give me RESPONSIBLE number for AP, . he gave a number which as you can guess is ALWAYS SWITCHED OFF, a guy by name sunil sagar.


Well one thing you can bet, NEVER AGAIN AN LG. It is the WORST.

LG Split AC is value for money

LG split - we have been using them since last 4 odd years and have purchased more in the years to have followed.   The ACS are low priced and so makes them value for money considering that the performance , support etc are complete paisa vasool.


The cooling is decent, air thru is average and could have been better ( splits have a lesser air thru than window acs ), the installation of split is diff and with time their engineers are getting better as the guys who install are under contract and not direct employees of the company, the AMC is done quickly and also the calls attended fast.


Stray cases of bad experience have been there but as the pricing is reasonable it makes up for it.  The bad cases are those whose installation results in a leakage of water and that usually happens at the joint right at the AC which is attended to by giving it packing properly.


I have experienced it once and had to face a uphill task as my furniture almost got badly damaged but the top people from the company came to inspect and attend to it when I made a complaint.  This impressed me that they have a positive attitude rather than one where they make a sale and then forget us consumers.


Ill buy a LG split even in future if the requirement arises.

We have had the most harrowing experience possible and it’s still not over. On 11th October we bought a 2 ton split AC from Vijay Sales. 2 days later the person who came to install the product made an absolute mess of the installation. We pointed out that the AC was not cooling - he had no thermometer to show the extent of cooling either. We lodged a complaint with Sai Enterprises and their person came the next day and after checking said the Pressure was not sufficient and the AC gas needs to be topped up. They filled up a work challan and left saying someone will come the next day. Since the last 20 days we have made numerous calls to the call centre, through Vijay Sales as well as to Sai Enterprises and were always promised the person will "definitely come". This kind of pathetic service convinces us that LG is no different from any Indian company when it comes to customer care. Be careful before buying LG products just because of the brand name.

Last year. I purchased the LG 1.5t Split unit....got it installed.there was a new excitement about LG,My other rooms a/c are O'General,which I am extremely extremely satisfied with,but still I thought lets give LG a chance as its cheaper compared to an O'general split.


But I never knew I would eventually end up paying the same price in terms of suffering.Till one month it worked as if there was no tommorow..and then the cooling was Zero.i called the service station guy.he visited my place. got I checked,he said there was a gas leak,now after just a month of installation ,god only know where the gas leak happened.ok No probs!.....he asked for the invoice....and due to renovation at my place....i misplaced the invoice somewhere and that is still costing me......he said it is not possible without the bill copy....i said to get the details from the dealer or the company itself....but he totally refused to do that.....i again tried to call him but since then he is not coming ....and my LG a/c is gone down....and so is my Beleif in LG.......Life's not that good u c

The top makes noise

I purchased this, to get rid of the scorching heat, and it saves from heat, true..


LG's AC creates more noise when comapred to Hitachi's Air conditioner. Hitachi's air conditioner, I dound to be running smoothly without any noise, and the one I bought usually creates a lot of noise (comparatively).


Pricewise, it may be okay, but if you are looking for the best Hitachi or carrier can be thought of as an option.


Second is their service. They say that this much noise will always be there. The grill has also started making noise. Overall has not been a god experience with me.


Earlier, I thought that the compressor and other things are the best in this. But later on I came to know that compressor is chineese, and let's see what is it's life. As par cooling effect, it is okay and cools the room quickly (Even though our room is big).


So, think before you leap.
