Very bad experience

My AC got installed last year sometime before summer. I thought I was warding off my summer days but alas I was inviting more trouble and sweat. After just a month my AC stopped working. It was horrible! The service was done again and again yet the AC used to stop working in middle of a humid night.


Then considered trying Panasonic, yet didn't get good reviews. Then finally settled for a good Daikin AC which I would recommend to all.

My Letter to LG customer care on the second day of purchase which I want to share with you all


The mode no is LSA5UR5A


With every passing day I use this Ac I feel I have been cheated in the name of providing quality. It is sure that its an Ac for the heck of it - no effort is taken to satisfy customers and its a bland AC which is supposed to be only put on and off without expecting anything.


I expected the following things from this AC


1)gold fins on outdoor unit- I was told gold fins by the dealer and when I insisted on seeing the fins in the godown itself I got the first shock.the brochure says multiflow but how am I to assume that "multiflow"which is a "verb" means ordinary alumunium fins


2) I was told that this is the topmost model recently launched and you will have all the functions except inverter technology and when I opened the box it has only vertical flow and no 4 way flow.today after 3 hours of using in my 16/12 ft bedroom there were pockets of warm areas I feel more so that I have bought a piece of junk


3) the remote is so ugly and bland that I think my table fan remote gives me more options.


I sorely miss sleep mode wich is written in your brochure as present


4)the indoor unit needs controls eventhough there is a remote and removing controls is the best indicator of cost cutting and quality reduction seen in LG acs.


To summarise LG has sripped off


1)gold fins


2)sleep mode , energysaver mode, independent controls of compressor and fan (if someone wants to run fan only)


3)bland and ugly remote.


4)indoor unit controls only has on and off.


5)improper words used in brochure which doesnot clarify goldfins or not


6)above all wrong information written in the brochure which made me buy the piece and am shocked to find it missing.


I expect only replies on e mail as replies on phone calls are difficult to document.


I think I have been cheated and I need all my expectation met as I have paid for it and else we can meet in consumer court.

Do not buy LG AC

I bought a Split AC on 25th May from Amutha Agencies in Tambaram Chennai. The installation was done on the 27th after repeated reminders and calls. The installation person did not demo the unit properly and the installation was done shabbily - the person did not clean up the mess after completing the installation.


For a couple of days, we tried operating the AC based on the manual, but the cooling effect was not good. So I requested a service person to come and check the unit on 30th May. A couple of service people called but no one visited. Couple of days back, a wrong service person (Fridge specialist) turned up! He left immediately without giving an alternate number.


Yesterday, I called up again to renew the service request and I was given another number and was promised someone will turn up by the evening. No one called or visited. Here I am sweating in 35 degrees heat after spending 25K on the AC. Not sure what else I need to do to get the problem fixed. Still waiting for the service to happen.


Overall, it has been a very disappointing experience with LG.


Buyers beware!
