Daikin AC's have the best features and technology available in the market, and also the most reliable products in term of quality and durability. I have installed this unit in my bedroom and another unit in my living room.

They both work swiftly and cool off the room within minutes. The unit has wide angle louvers, dual flaps, dry function, air purifying filter, auto restart after power failure. The unit being an inverter AC also saves up on electricity. I am very happy with my decision and I always recommend Daikin AC.

Daikin A.C's are undoubtedly the best and superior in technology, surely I was aware of that, but after purchasing this unit I experienced it. The unit has an amazing cooling capacity and also functions very silently. The power consumption is very low and thus it saves on electricity and expenses.

It has a good quality built. The unit comprises sort of a dehumidifying function that keeps the room nice and dry. I am very happy with this unit and would recommend it.

Initially I was quite hesitant to buy Daikin A.C.'s as they are quite expensive but with research I came to the conclusion that Daikin is the best. This unit was bought by me almost 8 months back. It has many advanced features such as temperature control, anti-bacteria filter, good built, and rotary compressor.

It functions silently without compromising on cooling. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product.

I had bought this product a year back and it has been working effectively and without complaints. The A.C cools off my living room within a matter of minutes, and since it has climate control, the room always stays at a pleasant temperature. The air filter makes sure the room is filled with fresh and clean air. The after service experience has been satisfactory so far. The A.C has a good quality built and thus does not succumb to wear and tear easily.

Daikin 5 star rated split AC

I got a Daikin FT50GV1G6 5 star rated 1.5 ton split AC, instant cooling we can get it from this model. But its costly other fitting equipments(Copper tube, water out flow pipe) and the VAT Tax should also include in the AC cost.

I have been a loyal Daikin customer. I am an interior designer. I use only Daikin for all my projects. Earlier, I used to use O General, but after I tried out Daikin, I have stuck with them. It's one of the best options currently available in the Indian market.

Daikin FT50 has been my favourite. It's the most reasonable one out of its wide range of products. Although its not an inverter AC, there are many things that make it better than its counterparts available in the market.

Power Airflow Dual Flaps, Wide-Angle Lovers, Vertical Auto-swing (Up and Down), Horizontal Auto-swing (Left and Right), 3-D Airflow, Programme Dry Function, Auto Fan Speed, Wireless Remote Controller, New Powerful Operation, Indoor Unit On or Off Timer, Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic Air-purifying Filter, Wipe-clean Flat Panel, Digital Display, Anti-corrosion Treatment of Outdoor Heat Exchanger Fins are the ones which make it an excellent buy and provide with excellent cooling.

I love my Daikin AC
Jul 23, 2012 06:27 PM 9063 Views

I was very skeptic on getting a Daikin AC since they are a bit more expensive than others. After asking a few friends and my interior designer, I went for Daikin. I don't regret it. Daikin has been brilliant. I simply love the product. I have heard about Daikin having a bad service but thankfully my designer helped me with acquiring the AC.

I love my AC. it has been really great. The cooling is like never before. It's fast and efficient. I also love the design and look of it. It was one of the best looking ACs we were considering. The technology is excellent. There's self diagnostic system, timers, autoflow and 3D airflow which makes it a great product.

I think I will be buying Daikin henceforth.

Daikin FT50

I have been using Daikin FT50 since quite some time now. I just thought of sharing my experience with other customers.

It's one of the best providers of airconditioners. There are certain features which sets them apart. It has Power-airflow dual flaps. Along with Wide-angle lovers and Vertical auto-swing(up and down). Automatic operation is absent. Which is a negative thing. It has programme Dry Function and Auto fan speed although hot-start function is absent.

The absence of a Washable grille and Filter cleaning indicator is compensated by the presence of excellent Air-purifying filter with photocatalytic deodorising function, Mould-proof air filter, Wipe-clean flat panel. It has a 24-hour on/off timer, Night set mode, Auto-restart after power failure, Self-diagnosis with digital display, Anti-corrosion treatment of outdoor heat exchanger fin.

I bought an Daikin Inverter 0.75 ton AC from Ratna Fan House, Chennai. At first I blinked about price, especially Daikin ordinary ACs themselves are expensive I heard, that too inverter type u can't question. The marketers in that showroom canvassed me using technical terms like rpm and energy efficiency, which at first I understood a little. One thing they told which I understood very much that Inverter ACs will only rule in the future rather than ordinary type.

They told only in India we are rating the electrical or electronic appliances as 3 star, 5 star, etc., whereas in foreign countries there is no question of star ratings, only inverter appliances matter and also they said 50% less energy consumption than other ordinary types, so I came to conclusion to buy it. It cost around 30.2 K plus double booster cost 33.3 K in total plus installation it comes around approximately 36.4 K. I agree it is too expensive, but inverter type matters I feel. In future the power consumption charge can reimburse my money back I hope.

I have been using the AC since 3 days, so far I don't face any problem, let's hope for the best in the future.

If any others who used and reviewed can put their comment in this thread, which will be of helpful and appreciated.

Regards,

Arun S.

I bought a Daikin FT50 two years back after a friend recommended. Since then I a have been the number one fan of Daikin. I absolutely love it. It has no problems at all. There are certain features which are unique and have made me fall in love with the company. I used Daikin ACs for my new office too.

Even they haven't failed to impress me. Some of the most distinguishing and satisfactory characteristic of Daikin ACs have been Power-Airflow Dual Flaps, Vertical auto-swing (up and down), Wide-angle louvers, New powerful operation, Indoor unit on/off switch, Anticorrosion Treatment of Outdoor Heat Exchanger Fins, Long piping length for more flexible unit placement.

Pathetic product and atrocious customer service
Jul 09, 2012 06:34 PM 10993 Views

Never ever consider buying a Daikin AC in India. I recently bought a Daikin 1.5 tn split ACs and have been having problems since then. In initial days cooling was fine but there was cranky sound off the louver. When I complained they said its as its new and sound will go down. Then after few days sound only increased but cooling went down. Then again when I complained, this time believe me it took me 7 days to keep following with there service guy who promised each day but never turned up and I just kept waiting at home every evening leaving all my work. I also wrote to cs@daikinindia.com, m.kumar@daikinindia.com and kapil.bhatia@daikinindia.com but to my surprise they didn't even care to respond forgert about repairing it.

Thing to be noticed is that Daikin is a foreign brand and imports products here and hence have no service network set up in India. What they have done is networked with local service vendors which they call "channel partners" and these guys are actually local and pathetic to say the least. These channel partners fit your AC and service/repair them and since they are contracted for a fixed amount per installation they make money by using the inferior quality products that do not stand the test of time...not even an year.

One of my other friend bought 6 Daikin ACs for his office at the same time as I did and has had gas leakage problems within the first 3 months for 2 out of 6 ACs.

Hence, I would never recommend buying a Daikin AC buy any other brand.

I helped my mother purchase a Daikin FTY50 some years ago. The installation preceded by the purchase took around a week. We had a few other options but decided to go for this once since there were a few distinguishing traits. These were found exclusively in Daikin and at a decent cost.

Some of the factors that helped us in making the decision were:

Energy Efficient Ration(EER): 9.1-10

The energy efficient ratio measures the cooling efficiency of the AC compared to the power it consumes. This was better than the other products we were considering.

Daikin ACs have a very good reputation and are world leaders when it comes to innovation and style.

They have a dry-option which reduces the moisture content while maintaining the room temperature.

The AC doesn't make any noise at all.

It has also has energy saving technology which no other brand promised.

Hasty, but wise decision
Jun 15, 2012 05:14 PM 15908 Views

I am a home-maker from Mumbai. Our AC stopped functioning just in the middle of an unbearably hot summer day. ACs are very important in the summers especially in coastal cities like Mumbai. My kids were becoming restless so I decided to buy an AC. We were hasty in deciding which one to buy and ended up buying a Daikin Inverter AC. I could have just hoped for it to work well.

It took a couple of days for installation. I knew very little about the technology so I did a bit research of my own and found out that inverter ACs are much more efficient, powerful and energy saving than the normal air-conditioners.

I have noticed a decrease in my energy consumption since I purchased Daikin. My previous AC used to make a lot of noise at night, my curent one doesn't make any sound at all. It almost feels like we haven't switched on an AC yet it's so cool.

I love the design and the digital display of the product. It makes my room look better and compliments our existing furniture. It has a corrosion resistant body which I hope will make it look new even after years.

The timer helps me sleep peacefully throughout the night. Unlike earlier, there's no need for me to get up at night to switch off the AC.

I hope it continues to work in a similar fashion for years.

New Delhi India
The best AC ever
Jun 14, 2012 04:56 PM 60656 Views

After yet another sleepless night due to my crappy Onida window AC, I decided I needed to replace it. I started looking for alternatives. I had purchased a Hitachi for my father's room 2 years ago. I was very happy with it so was planning to buy that again.

The new Hitachi Summer TM was now 5 Star rated so I was happier since I was also concerned about my electricity bill. (My dad's Hitachi was NOT 5 star rated - when I bought it). Then I saw an AD about Inverter ACs. I was disappointed to know that Inverter technology is only available on splits. I did not want a split for a simple reason. Window ACs - have an ambient noise that I like - since it dulls the horrible honking and traffic noise outside my room. So splits were really not what I was looking for.

However, I also wanted to reduce my electricity usage - so I was in a quandary.

Folks, I have been waiting for this sort of air conditioner my entire life. So far I have used ACs from Westinghouse, Voltas, Hitachi and National/Panasonic. My last was worst AC was an ONIDA. All of them have ONE major problem. When the compressor was ON - the air was so cold that after a few minutes one would have to adjust the grill. When the compressor was OFF it would throw un-cooled air which might often times is almost warm - given the Delhi summers.

So the entire night I would either cover myself with a blanket (when the compressor turned on) or remove it when the compressor turned off. The only way these AC's try to meet the set temperature is by keeping the compressor on for varying amounts of time.

In an INVERTER AC - the compressor is never really off. It just turns the compression factor down - so the air that comes out is neither too cold - nor too warm. In fact its just right - based upon the temperature you have set.

Ever since we got this AC installed in my room - my wife constantly comments that the air that comes out from this AC feels like dew soaked wind - during the monsoons.

So let me summarize for you why I choose this AC.

Why Inverter ?

I turn the AC on in my room by March and I use it all the way till October. So basically I use it a lot. This has direct cost implications- so I was looking for an AC that reduces my electricity cost. In any electric machine the peak load is when the machine starts. That is when it uses the maximum amount of current/power. My rotten ONIDA would start and shut the compressor at least 15 times in 1 hour (something was wrong with its temp. sensor). So each time the compressor started it would draw a lot of current - thereby increasing my units used.

In an Inverter based AC - the compressor never really turns off. I know that for most this may seem like it should consume more electricity. It is not so. The compressor is NOT running at full blast - the compression factor gets reduced based upon the temperature you have set it at. So it avoids frequent start/stops and this saves electricity.

Why Daikin?

To be honest I have never really known about Daikin. I was going for a Hitachi or General. Then someone whom I respect greatly mentioned Daikin. After more probing I realized it was a very strong player in Japan. Don't know why they don't seem to advertise more on TV in India.

My Price FTKD50 - Rs. 38, 000/- . I was initially keen to get the FTXS Hot and Cold. However the best price I got on that was Rs.55, 000. This was not in my budget. Then I looked at the FTXS 50/60. This used the a new coolant gas that was more environmentally friendly. This was going to cost me, Rs. 45, 000/-.

It was however out of stock.

So I looked for the FTKD which is identical to the FTXS except for the gas. It uses what is currently prevalent as a coolant, which is not very environment friendly. The installation charges were Rs. 1500/- plus another Rs. 3000/- for piping & stand.

Conclusion:

I am not sure if other inverter ACs like Panasonic and Toshiba also have similar cooling characteristics. Logically they should -given they use the same concept. But I am very happy with my decision and have restful nights in my room - with the cool air (that's not too cold but just right) blowing directly on my face.
