I had a terrible experience with Agoda when I booked a stay in Dalhousie for December 2024. I specifically booked for 6 adults and 4 children. However, upon receiving the itinerary, I noticed that the children were not included in the booking. When I reached out to Agoda support, they initially had no answers but later claimed to have resolved the issue by contacting the hotel and adding the 4 children. They assured me everything was fine.
However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were shocked to be charged an unexpectedly high amount for the children. Agoda failed to resolve the issue and only offered an apology, which is unacceptable.
I am extremely disappointed and will never use Agoda again. I am also deleting the app and strongly recommend others stay away from Agoda. Even the hotel staff warned me about the lack of transparency in Agoda’s bookings and advised me to use a platform with proper support in India. It is evident Agoda has no support in India, which makes resolving such issues a nightmare.
To make matters worse, when I checked again to book the same number of guests and rooms, the price was significantly lower than what I paid. I requested Agoda to honor their "Best Price Guarantee" policy, providing all necessary screenshots as proof. They refused, claiming the request should have been made earlier, even though they had delayed responding to my issue for days.
As an Australian, I expected much better customer support and service standards. Agoda has failed on every front, and I cannot recommend them to anyone.
