I was shocked to see that there were no reviews on Zaitoon Resto in Mouthshut, it is one of the most popular restaurants in Chennai. That was around July 2012, my friend Avinash gave us treat, ofcourse that was my first visit here, and till today I think I have visited atleast for 10 times. So I want to share my entire experience on Zaitoon. This restaurant is located in Adyar near Anna nagar which is nearly 15 kms far from my place and iam very fond with its timings(11 am – 10.30 pm)
Ambience
Ambience is one of the most adorable part, at evening times it has a great dim low light surroundings and perfect environment. I can say it’s one of the best places to have dinner with your partner. And its my favourite spot to hang out at any time(there is no bar:p). Seating is quite comfortable here with good decorated tables.
Food
Coming to the main part of review – I know there are better restaurants than Zaitoon but still I don’t have words to describe this restaurant. They have got some 250+ varieties in their menu. Zaitoon is particularly famous for Non Vegetarians and unique items they serve. I have tried almost all items, and to be frank not even one item has disappointed me.
Starters
They have wide variety of Chinese Soups and they taste sooo YummY. Tawa Kebabs – they just keep on melting in your mouth. Hummus & Salads are another great starters and a must item to have. Chicken starters & Seafood starters have some awesome items like Dragon chicken, Zaitoon spl lollipop, shanghai prawns, I just love them. Starters at Zaitoon never failed to amaze me.
Main Course
Another best part of Zaitoon. They are always best in terms of quality food as well in quantity too. The most loving main course is the Biriyani. Its taste so good that you forget yourself while eating. Grill chicken is always at its best but slightly costlier item in the entire menu. I suggest you all to try Arabain atleast once in the main course. Truly its very difficult to decide which is the best item in Zaitoon.
Desserts
I always feel very bad at this particular point, bcoz I will be almost full but still I don’t want to give up desserts:) Hmmm sizzling brownie is my all-time favourite here and the remaining juicy items and milk shakes are not that worth according to their price tag.
Service
Service is the worst part of Zaitoon always. Only twice or thrice I was just satisfied with their service. All the time they make me to wait like a hell and even serving is bad most of the times.
Value for Money
Definitely! it’s a great value for each and every penny that u spend on food. On an average it would be around 350-400 rupees per head. Great Deal:)
Cons:
Parking is always a big headache
No Music:(
Outdoor Seating is poor
