I recently had been to Bombay and well after hearing about Yoko's so much from my friends in and out of Mouthshut, I decided that no matter wat I would love to have a taste of what so many people swear by !!
Location
The place is conveniently situated and it has opened up branches in Andheri and some othe places too for accessibility.
The parking facility is pretty good. So you dont have to worry about feeling hungry and ready to go but you dont have any space for parking. :)
The Wait
I gathered that since this place was popular you have to wait or make reservations. Now I definitely would not tell my friends who are in a hurry to eat the sizzling food to try this if one is not used to waiting for your turn. The waiting could be pleasant as they have seating arrangements outside the restaurant so that you can enjoy the cool summer breeze of Bombay as you wait for your name to be called.
Maybe you could go early in the evening if you want to avoid this. The wait could be 45 minutes or more. But I tell you the food is worth the wait especially if you are a non vegetarian.
Service and Ambience
The service is pretty efficient. Once you get a table you will be served in a reasonably good time. The ambience is lets say .... alive... . Thats what I felt when I stepped inside the place. You can hear the chatter of people enjoying their food and well since the place is not that big you are in the midst of the cacophony of sizzling smoke and laughter and a happy people just chilling out !!
Whatever music was playing in the background was muted due to all the noise and laughter and I could not really complain.
What I mean to say is that if you are looking for quiet and a romantic dinner this might not be the place. :)
Food
This is my favourite part. The food is absolute manna from heaven. I have no idea about the vegetarian dishes but the meat served was succulent and almost melted in the mouth.
Steaks are the best here but you could try out the other stuff too if you are not a steak freak.
I would recommend Chicken Shashlik Steak with Chicken and cheese ( which you could share with another friend because of the amount of food served in this dish) Mutton Chops ( for mutton lovers) or just Steak Shashlik for steak lovers.
Price
Thats the least favourite part of mine. I can only say that what you pay would be worth what you ate. You would gladly shell out the bill for the sumptuous and tasty meal. :)
Credit cards are accepted. So you can go there with a light purse too.
The average price of a steak dish would be above 120/-. The drinks are expensive. A lime juice or a fruit juice would cost you about 30/- to 60/- GAWK !! My eyeballs almost popped out. I can accept the food pricing but the drinks should be cheaper compared to the restaurant.
My Comments
Anyways, all said and done, you must try this place out if you love food and dont mind waiting for it. You could also make reservations as I had mentioned earlier but if you are not on time your table would be occupied by someone else immediately. So keep that in mind and plan your evening accordingly :).
