A visit in the over hyped restaurant of the legendary Sanjeev Kapoor fame left sour taste in mouth. The First thing that baffled me was that they have only Qua Minral Water to offer (Rs.80 (MRP 40) per bottle + 10% Service charge+VAT) Yes, there's no other choice, take it or leave it (Ghaziabad water is not upto the mark, even with purification process, I was told by man is service).
Even then, The guy in our service never bothered to ask about our preference for cold or warm water. First sip revealed that the bottled water served was actually at lukewarm temperature (due to probably lying under a lamp) in the latter half of April in Delhi heat.
Dont you serve cold water here?" I asked the guy in service. "No, we haven't started yet. (He glanced outside, probably to denote that whether does not demand so/or I'm the first fool asking for cold water this season.)" , but a few cubes of ice (Theoretically these contaminate ultra pure water that we were compelled to pay for) were dropped in the glass on insistence for cold water. We ordered Shahi Subz Seekh for Paneer Kali Mirch Tikka for starters to go with a glass of Antiquity Whisky and A bloody Marry.
The starters were served but drinks came only when we were at our last bites of starters. Although the main course was order alongwith the starters but we were made to wait a full thirteen minutes after finishing our drinks and starters before being served main course. The food was regular restaurant stuff but rotis were wafer thin and a bit harer than wafers. Ambiance Interior is good but table offered to us was just theoritically Candle Light Table just below a good number of spotlights and a blaring 40"
TV.Food Starters were good but everything in the main course (Sham Savera, Dal Mizaz & Kadai Paneer) contained a good dose of oil floating over it. Although, touted as 'very good' by some critics, Sham sawera was the worst, Sweet gravy-Hard/tasteless koftas . (It lacked signature of 'Healthy Cook', Sanjeev Kapoor totally).Wines Bloody Marry served with a lot of ice and Whisky Large peg was less than 30 ml.Service The place is probably understaffed to cater Saturday Evening rush. Almost, nothing reached us on time and Dal was served with a layer of thick malai over it.
