My Dad developed chest pain and his BP dropped when he was in hospital after his treatment. Dr Pramod the head of cardiology admitted my Dad to Cardiac ICU and wanted to get his angiogram done without even getting a chest X-ray. We denied to sign off on angiogram as my Dad was fragile and very weak. When we asked Dr Pramod to explain my Dad's condition, he asked me if I was a doctor and didn’t care to explain (maybe he himself had no knowledge or couldn’t diagnose). Pramod or his team of doctors didn’t even have minimum courtesy to explain what’s going on with my Dad. After 48 hrs they ordered a chest X-ray and found out my dad had lot of liquid retention around his lungs and later shifted to another ICU where he got a pig tail to get the liquid drained. So to start with Dr Pramod’s diagnosis was wrong and he kept my Dad in Cardiac ICU for 48 hrs for no reason. We felt very HELPLESS, I am sure so many patients and their families go through helplessness because of lack of proper care or communication by Doctors. And the security guards are the worst, they cross the decency line, they argue and lack proper communication.
ICUs at Yashoda, Somajiguda are worst. Staff, duty doctors in ICU are rough with patients and lack empathy. They don’t communicate properly to patient families. The lights are always switched on giving patient no time to get proper sleep. Patients barely get even 2 hr sleep and we are not allowed to meet them regularly. My Dad was requesting the ICU doctors to let him sleep and rest for a while but in vain. The staff doesn’t communicate patient's condition and we are not allowed to meet patient regularly. Patient is on their own for hours and feels helpless. They don’t feed patients on time and my Dad was not fed for 24 hrs. My dad was on soft diet and they make it hard for us to communicate that and make proper arrangements.
It’s time Doctors and hospital staff and management look at patients with empathy, You make a livelihood on patients and atleast be grateful to them by providing proper service.
Outpatient care is good but ICU is the worst at Yashoda’s and beware of Dr Pramod. I am writing this review to help other patients and don’t be deceived by this man because he is head of the department. He is not as knowledgeable as he projects himself to be and NOT at all a compassionate man. He didn’t care much about patient from the start and wanted to get angiogram done without evaluating if the patient can withstand or if there is a need for it.
I am hoping this review will help Dr Pramod and other similar Doctors to relook at themselves and take proper care of patient and communicate with families and specially when the patient is critical it even more important. Please don’t look at a patient as a money making machine, when you take care the money automatically follows.
Doctors from different departments should care to discuss about the patient but I didn’t see that happening. Everyone was operating on their own. They simply don’t care about a life, they are dead focused on money.
We shifted my Dad to AIG where he got better treatment but he passed away. AIG ICU is the BEST, we feel better atleast my Dad passed away without pain.
Dr Arun (Nephrologist), Dr Sarada (Gastroenterologist), Dr Dasarta Ram Reddy were decent and truly cared about their patients.
Didn’t want to hurt anyone but wanted to provide honest feedback to help patients, their families and Doctors to have a relook on how they care for their patients. Now a days it’s become hard to trust any doctor.
