Thank God, It is my pleasure to write few lines that would voice my views about India’s most popular 100 CC machine.
During 1980s Yamaha-Escorts joint venture launched their first bike in India. Yamaha RX100 (colloquially RX). During its time we cannot even think about such a refined bike that having fresh looks, high power and performance.
Kawasaki KB 100 RTZ was the only one claimed dark horse to RX100, but for me it never won the drag and now almost obsolete from the roads. But still RX100 rules!!!
When I was in my teens I wanted to buy a RX, but my eyes brimmed with tears; when I came to know that Yamaha is going to cease the production its flagship model. Many times I felt that it is a bike that rolled out before its time, like RD350.
After a few years I bought a bike. For me there were no sleepless nights and no other choices to choose from, which is supposed to have everyone just prior to buy a bike. Because a used RX was my one and only one choice. Its extremely matched gear ratios, high power to weight ratio (11 BHP/98 Kgs), flat torque curve and spontaneous pick-up make this machine a rider’s choice. Wherever you take it, its handling and control is like a hot knife through butter. I bet you, none of the today’s new generation bike is having this much build quality and reliability. Its unique sound from the muffler will help this machine to stand out of the rest. About mileage I am not that eloquent because I presume no RX100 owner looks for mileage. I reckon everybody will agree that power and mileage cannot go hand-in-hand.
