I'm an interior designer, and, I have shifted to bangalore from Bombay, I was in need of a two wheeler..started the search...read...read, and read..asked, asked...and asked...went down to the showrooms till I tire myself.Every guys in all the showrooms knew me well by now!!
The last one I visited was YAMAHA showroom...because, i knew that, they were not doing well in India. But, Yamaha dealers in one particular place, were too good to tell me the unbiased truth.Quickly I have compared it with the other guys.
*We Indians are too sentimental, conservatives and much steriotypes.i am sad, We need to agree this! If the sales and reach of a brilliant brand like Yamaha is declining, it is because we fell victims of Bajaj and Tvs's advertising hype and histeria.
Think..When you see the roads of bangalore..it wore the uniform of Pulsar 150, 180, 200, and 220's...what are you gonna do with a power bike like pulsar and apache, when the city is always crowded with traffic? you will not utilize the power of the bike and you will run out of fuel fast.because it meant for power not for fuel. Two way loss!*
Fine..Individuality..every next bike becomes a pulsar, how anyone will feel proud?that they are the brand ambassidors?! I thought of these..
Technical matters now...I have read all most all auto magazines..Gladiator is the best and numero uno in 125 segment...That's the verdict of them..in that you will have the power more than just enough, and fuel ratio balance...
I have test driven all most all new vehicles..Among all in it's segment, I found Glady is smooth, Tall and has more substantial dimensions, i could handle it effortlessly.Fuel? Surpraisingly well above the expectation.but don't expect like HH splendor..and Glamour, There are power difference and speed differnce like..
Gladiator 10.8 Bhp
HH Glamour 9.x bHP
gladiator top speed 107km/hr
HH glamour Top speed Not even touches 97km/hr
That makes the milage little less but it balances with aggressive power in it's segment.
Glady has got all the other bike has Got, even bit more..Some says, techometer and digital speedo meter are not there in Glady..(oh! what a loss!)
My problems now...The Gladiator's flip side is, (so far I have found!) when you go to first gear you will have an unforgivable sound.
Kick start is more strong that I use more energy to start..
Anyway..125cc is great when you live in a city like Bangalore, and Before buying any bike please read a lot, don't just ask people, they will make you typical!!
If You read, you may find out that Tvs Flame is coming with a better statement, I think it also will prove itself...consider that.
But till the time Yamaha Gladiator deserves..and it rightfully deserves...
