I have purchased Yamaha FZ in 2010 and I rode only 18000 Km. This was my first new bike proir to which I owned a Yamaha Crux. The Crux was a 3rd hand bike and fulfilled all my requirement. The most astonishing part about that bike was that I rode it for 1 year without any service or oil change. I was into marketing, so one can imagine how much the bike had undergone. All I did was, fill petrol and air with occasional wash. The bike never stopped or gave me any trouble and Yamaha gained my trust.
Later I decided to buy Yamaha FZ16. I took a short test ride and was happy with the pick up and awesome handling it offered. I just wished they had a rear disc brake too. I received my bike from Panache motors in Marthalli Bangalore. I took the delivery and I went to Nandi hills which was the first long trip. I maintained the speed between 40-60km/hr. How ever to test the speed I picked it up to 100 which was very easy, however I couldn't hold it longer and the bike began to jerk, it felt as if the engine shuts down for a fraction if second in quick succession, this happen if one runs out of fuel, but the tank was almost full. I called the showroom the following day and they asked me to maintain the a normal speed till the first service which I followed. During the first service the mechanic seemed to understand the problem as if he new that this was going to happen.
He said that the fuel pressure was a problem which he corrected. I took a test ride and there was no problem. I was happy with the service and I left the showroom. I maintained lower speeds however after few the second service the mechanic told that I can go for higher speeds. After few weeks of riding it fast the same problem began. I took it to the mechanic and he corrected it however it was ok for sometime and it was back again.
I was frustrated and I went to Indra Nagar showroom for rectification. They asked me to change the air filter(I just rode about 1600 km or so and the life of a air filter is more than 5000 kms) changing the air filter became a part of every servic for which I had to pay. Later the chain began to trouble to which the mechanic said its common in all bikes where chain is exposed like Bajaj Pulser and need a replacement. Now these people attribute the stalling problem which the chain which is absolute crap. Now a days the stalling problem occurs at very low speed too.
Please suggest a solution.
