Yamaha Fazer, the bike that takes me to my college days whenever I sit on it, my reliable commute since the last 7 years, although after college could not ride it much but I'm never going to sell it, it is something you will get emotionally attached with.
I have the Red black color and it looks super sexy from all angles, it still turns heads because of the muscular design. It had costed me 85K on road udaipur in 2010.
It has been with me for 6 years and have driven around 30K kms( rather memorable Kms) esp the 450 kms ride in 24 hours from udaipur to mount abu was an unforgettable experience.
The bike has a 15 PS butter smooth engine( excuse me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I last checked it's specification) that revs freely from beginning to the end.
The rear tyre is a really wide one at 170 mm, it is wider than many car tyres & contributes to really comfortable and safe riding.
I even did some mods on the bike & installed a HID light system.
I'll quickly mention it's pros and cons in the long term ride.
Pros
• Powerful smooth Engine, great pickup.
• Unmatched ride and handling.
• Super wide tyres.
• Mean muscular looks, still does not look outdated.
• Powerful dual horns.
• Monoshock suspension for smooth ride.
• Great balance and handling, cornering is fun.
• Durable & low maintenance.
• Tubeless MRF tyres.
• Sweet Exhaust note.
• Large digital speedo.
• Can be used for long rides as well.
Cons:
• Only one headlamp turns on at a time which is not really bright for night driving, a HID projector kit retrofit is highly recommended
• No kick, really don't know what they were thinking. although it's available as an option for Rs 2500 extra.
• Pillion seat is small and not comfortable for long rides
• Fuel average about 40-45 kmph. Gives terrible average after rough usage.
• Mileage meter and speedo stopped working after 12K kms & it's costly to repair.
But overall it has been a sweetheart for me with some flaws I can live with.
I'd give 4 star if I had to say rationally but one extra for my emotional attachment with this mean beast I call'My Gunda'.
