Hello Friends jotting down words after a long time, this time it’s about something good making waves in smart phones segment “RedMi 3S prime” which I got in my Second attempt during flash sale with Spec 3GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, 4100 mah battery with Stylish design and tempting price tag Redmi 3s Makes every single person irresistible but does it really meets the expectation let’s see…
Before getting in detail, I am classifying mobiles based on Brand value, Durability, sturdiness and Service availability into 4 segments
Class A: SAMSUNG, APPLE, Microsoft, HTC, MOTOROLA, Oppo.
Class B: Lenovo, OnePlus, Honor/ Huwaei, ASUS.
Class C: Karbonn, Micromax, LAVA, , Panasonic, GIONEE
Class D: Celken, Zen, TCL, Etc.,
About Brand: Class A. MI Though a Chinese company have really got a good value when it comes to quality because of which their brand is very successful, we need to consider their MI band has a very big fan base for its accuracy and amazing features. Definitely no need to have secondary thoughts when it comes to standard.
Specification and design: Class A. Incredible…Bingo….! 3 GB RAM, 32 GB with Qualcom 64 bit Octacore processor, 4100 mah battery and Metal body is really a welcome note considering today’s fancy crazy Mobile fans(also there is 2 GB / 16 Option for 6999 available). SIM Tray slot is a copy from iPhone and restricted to use 2 SIM(one nano, &one micro) or one nano SIM+memory card. Comes with 4G Volte enabled, you could use your JIO SIM cards ?
Looks: Class A. Bang…Really Bulls eye…! Just under 7mm with stylish metal body(which is rare) with incredible curves and definitely a head turner at least 1 in 3 people you meet will ask you about the mobile you hold
Performance: Class C, Unfortunate let down ?, For the specification it offers definitely it did not meet the expectation, Always 1-1.5 GB is occupied by system process, having just installed what’s app and Subway surfers there was a huge lag while playing game definitely 1 GB / 512MB Class A Phones are damn far better, only silver line there isn’t much over heating in spite of having a metal body and heavy Specs.
Touch definitely gives a rich feel and is premium responsive, finger print scanner is good but not smart (You cannot unlock it during your meal though you wipe your finger during emergency)
Operating system software: Class B Comes with latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow is really refreshing, also security app which takes care of cleaning, permission is very straight forward(with no stupid Ad’s) . However optimizing the software with hard ware is a big failure as you get too much of issues with base o/s software’s(Play services, Google music, etc., ).Though they fairly update the system software(MIUI) at regular intervals definitely not at par with Class A phones.
Everyone have to understand though all class mobiles use same H/w and S/w, this is the segment that makes mobile better than others. So MI in this segment is an average player
Camera: Class A, MI played smartly by using Sony camera instead of their own. pics are very nice and smooth including selfie camera, good quality even in low lights( You have to be smart enough to adjust the settings)
Battery: Class B, Non-removable battery though advertised to have 2 day life(4100 mah Li-On) drains quick in spite of limited usage 1 day or little longer, I see Class A 3000 mah spec mobiles delivers the same
Price: During flash sale the cost is 8999, during other times it’s 11999.You have to be lucky to get it during flash sale because it goes out of stock in 2 minutes. MI have made a smart move to advertise their products with this concept of tempting customers. For the specification mentioned Excellent but overall quality Average.
Network & Reception: Class B does not picks up signal in low-signal areas as good as Class A mobiles, but once picks up the signal 4G works pretty decent. WIFI Receptions is Very good.
Audio: ==Class B, == though audio is clear it’s not loud when it comes to playing songs or in call volume or speaker phone, however when you use your head phones you hear a nice and clear music.
Video: Class A excellent Clarity in spite of having just 1280 x 720 resolution, offers a very smooth videos and is definitely premium.
Service and Support: Class A, Having chat support(10 AM to 6 PM) is pretty nice and welcoming, though the agents look to close the chat than resolving the issue it’s definitely a good offer to its customers. Service centers have enough stocks and easily accessible in major cities.
Verdict: Though Mi has won a few Class A segments it is not a bench mark when it comes to smart phone. So, If you are obsessed with fantasy specs, stunning looks and ability to compromise in basics go for it. But if you are straight forward looking for Standard without compromising basic rules not your choice
