I have used WS FTP products for many years, and I believed it was the best one on the market. This is what I thought until I tried other FTP clients, like Cute FTP.
WS FTP offers a very nice and easy-to-use layout. There is no question that it is user friendly and easy to use even for the not so experienced user. However, the positive notes end here, because there are other FTP clients who do all other functions better than WS FTP.
Negatives:
Resuming downloads: This has always bothered me with WS FTP. The later version do support a download to be resumed, but many times a resumed download will not work. I have been unable to resume the file at times even though WS FTP asks me if I would like to resume it.
Search capabilities: WS FTP does not even come close to the search capabilities of many competitors. Other program have search engines for software, images and mp3's which work very well. No such thing in WS FTP.
Recommendation: Stay away from this product. There are many other FTP clients out there which are better.
