Writing Reviews at Mouthshut, Not always Blissful

There is nothing more disappointing than writing reviews, and very few members rate them. Writing reviews over a period of time comes with great writing skills, research, and organizational skills. So writing reviews has its many, many rewards. Over the last six years I have had the pleasure of watching tremendous growth with my writing skills moreover, all credit is due to my constant interest, and tasks of writing reviews on two websites. I've learned that the more you write the better you become at this skill.

I have even been awarded Star Writer statis at Mouthshut, but the quality of my photo didn't meet the standards of the Mouthshut team so I was unable to gain the award of Star Writer. I refuse to send another photo. But at least I can proudly say my writing and the quantity of my reviews scored well enough to earn such an award.

My point here is that writing reviews are a busy and engaging task, and more ratings from the community are important. Sadly, I don’t write many reviews here anymore because I’m very disappointed at the number of ratings I see on my reviews. It’s bad enough there are no financial earnings granted to members for the hard work they do when writing reviews. And, what’s more insulting- although a very kind gesture created by the Mouthshut team- is that our points doesn't amount to earnings that necessarily benefit the Author, but are redeemable only for the purpose of dispensing earned points to buy gifts for members of the community. HA! HA! HA! HE!

As I mentioned earlier writing reviews are quite involved and they require in-dept thought, processing, written drafts, proof reading, and a final written statement that requires proper grammar as spelling, usage, and sentence structure written in English about the product or service that's reviewed. That’s if you’re a very good writer. When I looked at my recent reviews I saw very low ratings on them for instance, my review of "Magic" has only 5 ratings, My review of "Monsters" has only 3 ratings, and my review of "Hellboy" has only 6 ratingsHow sad!

So my dear friends at Mouthshut the next time you read a review please rate the review, it means a lot to the member who wrote it. When you rate a member’s review you are saying to that member I recognize your work. It’s amazing when I see numbers like this…110/5, which clearly show that there were a total 110 members who read the review, and only five members rated it.

Cheers, and happy reading, writing, and rating.
