This satellite radio is indeed a blessing to a connoisseur of music. It is a radio which broadcasts over 40 premium channels, 24 hours a day. The channels are as follows: 2 channels of Western classical/Jazz, 11 channels of International Pop/Rock, 7 channels of News/General, 7 channels of Indian Regional, 4 channels of Special Interest, 2 channels of Hindi Film and 2 channels of Indian Classical. The above channels provide entertainment throughout the 24 hours and equally caters to the youth and the older generation. One can pick and chose the channel of one’s own choice and enjoy the music of his liking. The minimum cost of the radio set is Rs. 1500 and the annual subscription fee is Rs. 1800. This works out to Rs. 150 per month, which is a small price we pay to be spared of the annoying advertisements. Since the transmission is through a satellite, an antenna is a must. It is provided along with the receiver and needs to be mounted facing the satellite.
What I liked about World Space Radio is its crystal clear digital quality sound. Each channel has something to offer and it becomes really difficult to choose between them. It is worth the buy and we are really enjoying every minute of radio listening. My all time favourite channels are Jhankaar (latest Hindi songs), Moksha (Spiritual discourses) and Spin (International Pop).
