Having been the son of a Teacher who taught English, I understood the power and relevance of improving English Skills in early childhood. Some of my classmates in Engineering felt that English is my strength and that led me to embark on a journey in honing my English Language skills while pursuing normal Engg Education.
Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis first published in 1949 had been my tool in the right direction from around 1993. A book written for enhancing vocabulary, it had helped me fine tune my vocabulary as much as it today helps my children after about 28 years. It just doesnt list words and meanings like a dictionary. It instead gets into the origin and break up of words and groups words into different types after explaining the back ground, their composition and even pronunciation. You get a feeling that you are reading a novel about words than a super dictionary.
In this world where knowledge of English is still considered an important tool for progress and confidence building, the relevance of this book is constantly increasing. I strongly recommend prescribing this book to your children and make it part of your library. With the Book in hand you can walk and talk in elan.
No wonder over 50Lakh copies are sold the world over.
