Most of the people in this world want to change their figures, or so it seems from my personal observation. Either they are too fat & want to get thinner or they are too thin & want to get fatter. Seems there’s no pleasing anyone in this world!
The first thing that occurs to a man who wants to lose weight is to diet & basically that is the answer to the whole problem. But dieting does not mean depriving the body of food, as so many so-called health experts suggest(Doctors). Balanced diet is the thing to aim at & it is up to you to make sure you are eating food of every type like fats, starch, protein, vitamins, as well as green vegetables.
The body is like a bank. Pay into it so many calories per day by means of eating & you will establish a “Credit”. Withdraw a certain number of calories a day by using up energy & you will “balance your book of account” at the end of the day. If you pay in more than you take out, your account will grow & you will become fat. If you take out more than you put in, your account will diminish & you will grow thin. There are obviously 2 ways of making your account smaller. You may put in less calories by eating less or you may take out more by using up more energy(By doing proper “Exercise” daily).
Don’t be tempted to cut out all foods said to be “Fattening”, such as fats & starches, for if you do there us every chance that you will make yourself ill, as serious diseases can be caused by Vitamin deficiency. For example: Vitamin A is present in Milk, Butter, Creams, Egg-Yolk, Cheese, Fat meat & Cod-liver oils. It promotes growth & helps to ward off infection & particularly skin diseases. While Vitamin B is present in Potatoes, Milk, Egg, Cereals & lack of it causes “Nervous disorders & Stomach trouble”.
By cutting out the so-called ‘fattening’ foods you are cutting down on your supplies of those two essential vitamins. The other way of slimming is to eat normally & to exercise regularly. This will balance the books favorably for you & yet will ensure that you get all the vitamins you need. But of course, there is the fact many fat people do carry out some form of exercise. “I walk for miles”, they will tell you, “yet it does not have the least effect on me.”
Not all exercise is equally beneficial. In fact, some forms of exercise may be positively harmful by sapping vitality while giving little positive value in return. And exercise must get at the parts that need slimming. If your waist-line is too thick, it is the waist-line that must be exercised. If your hips & posterior bulge in all directions, you must get at these parts with your exercising.
Free exercise is good, particularly for those who are out of condition but its results are slow in coming & long before a really noticeable effect is achieved, the results stops altogether. The only really fast & efficient form of exercise is with added resistance in form of weights or heavy machinery. But if still you are thinking of doing light exercise for reducing those extra fat in your body then try the following exercises in proper manner:
- a)Leg Raise(At least 20 reps)
b)Leg Spread(Minimum 20 reps)
c)Side bend(20 reps each way)
d)Leg swinging(till tired)
The above short list of exercise should be followed every morning & evening. And besides doing free-hand exercises, you should also watch your food intake. Make sure you get “some” of each of the following groups every day & follow out the above mentioned list of exercise religiously.
Group1: Meat, Fish, Eggs, other Poultry products….
Group 2: Green vegetables, Carrots, Yellow vegetables….
Group 3: Fresh Fruits….
Group 4: Starch, Bread, Cereals….
Group 5: Milk & milk products….
Just try to follow my ideas & views religiously, & I assure you that you’ll definitely attain good physic very soon…Take care.
A word of WARNING: If you are very fat & you have a protruding stomach, do not attempt the “Sit-Ups” or “Abdominal raise” until its reduced a little. This is because when the stomach is already over-loaded, these exercise will tend to aggravate the condition & make it worse………….
