It was after much thought we decided to go Wayanad for taking a break from our hectic life. To be frank it was a wonderful break. Andour trip was made more memorable by the stay we had in " Ente Veedu". If your objective of visiting Wayanad is to have a good outing combined with trekking, boating and relaxing this is the best place to be. The hostess Sita Aunty is not only warm and friendly but knows all the places in Wayanad in and out. She can help you plan out your holiday perfectly well if you are visiting Wayanad for the first time. Coming to homestay. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the staff there are quite polite and helpful. In addition to that the homestay has a relaxing atmosphere and is surrounded by paddy fields. You have a serene view from there. We visited Meenmutty falls which was a good trekking experience . Had boating in Banasura Sagar dam and also went for Bamboo rafting. In addition to that we went to Muthanga Wildlife santuary and Thirunelli Temple. One of the key aspects of Wayanad is the scenic beauty it offers. The greenery and pollution free environment simply amazes you. All and all it was a wonderful trip and me and my husband came back rejuvenated.
For those planning a trip to Wayanad these are few more guidelines.
We went to Ente veedu for 2 nights and 3 days and our total cost ( for 2 people) including pick up and drop from Calicut, stay, food and roaming came to 15,000. The homestay had provided us a with a Ford Icon with a driver who was also our guide for the entire duration of our stay. If you are having your own transport the cost will be almost halved for the same duration as only food and stay will come.
