Every war is a national misfortune-Helmuth Von Moltke

As the sun breaks through on the new day, the dawn brings back the horrific memories of the 24 days that have gone by. And you pause at some images that pass you by: A pregnant Iraqi woman begging for food & water; a child weeping unabashedly as the American troops slaughter his family; several teary-eyed refugees leaving their homes in fear of getting killed in the irrational bomb assault…

“Stop, turn back the clock”, your heart cries. For these innocent civilians will no longer be able to live a secure life. How can President Bush write valedictions of millions of Iraqi people when they had become such an integral part of Iraq. One sincere look at a weeping Iraqi child will haunt President Bush & his so-called allies for the rest of their lives. Ironic that Bush should remember Iraq not for the transgression committed by Saddam Hussein but for the abandoned tears of the Iraqi people caused by his unreasonable aggression…

Today, President Bush & his administration are on a campaign to justify the war on the basis of 'Freeing the Iraqi people'. I garner, from the discussions I hear around me, that his strategy is working effectively in the United States. As a result, most Americans will undoubtedly think the war was justified even as no Weapons of Mass Destruction are found in Iraq. But in reality, President Bush has made a serious error in attacking another country for reasons based on notion, vengeance & circumstantial evidence.

When the so-called coalition troops started their assault on the Iraqi terrain on the 20th day of March, they expected the Iraqi civilians to treat them as liberators. But this didn’t happened. On the contrary they were treated as invaders(And rightly so!).  George W(ar)  Bush & his administration were foolish enough to believe that Saddam Hussein would go down easily without putting up a serious fight. But the entire world knew perfectly well that Saddam Hussein was no pushover. In spite of that, Donald Rumsweld had said in one of his interviews that “This war should be described as the mother of all battles”. However, this war can hardly be portrayed as the mother of all quarrel simply because the political & armed contest was unequal, groundless & irrational from the day one.

The United States of America(Along with not-so-Great Britain) has increasing become as a rogue state. United States, which proudly associates itself with democracy & social equality, did not even accept the consent of United Nation. It also threatened Russia, France(French Fries have been renamed as Freedom Fries….Well, I wonder if they’ll also return the Statue of Liberty to France), China & Germany with economic sanctions if they voted against the resolution(And I’m confident he must have campaigned his presidential election in a similar manner).

It has been claimed that this war was waged by the United States with the sole intension of taking over the oil fields of Iraq(Even I had this notion…But I was wrong!). The Bush administration’s chief interest in this region, go beyond oil. The sole super-power is primarily trying to establish a long-term strategic supremacy over its arch rivals Russia & China. That explains why Bush & his 4 clowns(Tony B(liar), DICK Cheney, Donald(Duck) Rumsweld, & Colin Pawar) are charming Iraq & not N.Korea, which has Weapons of Mass Destruction(They also have the capability to strike America first). But what we are seeing today is reordering of intercontinental configuration to suit the interest of United States & United Kingdom.

The United States, which proudly demonstrate its relationship with democracy & desire to liberate people around the world, are ignoring the fact that Pakistan is also being ruled by a tormenter: General Pervez Musharaf(And same is the case in Zimbabwe). But instead of “freeing the Pakistanis”, President Bush rewarded Pakistan with a debt write-off of 1 billion dollars(Shessh! Talk about ethics).

President Saddam Hussein may have been the most ruthless dictator of this century. But sadly, he was not as brainy & clever as the United States of America. The US not only helped equip Saddam Hussein’s regime with military equipment right up to the time of the Kuwait invasion in 1989 - as did Germany, Britain, France and Russia - but also sold & helped Saddam to assimilate chemical weapons into their battle plans against Iran. Even the congressional records of Senator Donald J Riegle's inquiry of the Gulf War Syndrome show that the US government permitted sales of chemical & biological materials to Iraq.

And despite repeated claims by the Bush administration of having “got the man”, there isn’t adequate evidence to indicate that Saddam Hussein is history. ‘If’ Saddam succeeds in escaping & joining hands with Osama bin Laden they can make things extremely daunting for the western world. It would be ironic if this war brings about the very thing, which the US wanted to avoid.

* “War is the continuation of politics. In this sense war is politics & war itself is a political action”-Mao Tse-Tung
