Voltas Vertis Gold I 1.5T
In continuation with my review “AC buying guide”
Ruling out O General due to heavy price, I preferred Hitachi on EMI for my 2 rooms 120sft and 156sft. But, I couldn’t get EMI offer for the models I was interested. So, I decided to buy 1T from Hitachi and 1.5T from the next brand in my list i.e., Voltas.
Voltas has many models and you’ll be confused which one to buy. Their website doesn’t provide the BTU ratings for their models. After searching through the Voltas website, I decided to buy 5 star rated, 1.5T “Vertis Gold i”. I looked for nearest Voltas exclusive dealer and approached him (Ramcor Marketing, Malakpet, Hyd). Their ACs are in full demand, and I couldn’t get 1T AC from any Voltas dealer in Hyd unless I wait for 10days.
I was told that they got new 5star rated model Vertis Plus G. But, they couldn’t provide a brochure nor tell me its specifications. I felt I can’t buy without seeing its specifications. So, decided to go for 1.5T Vertis Gold i.
My Voltas Experience :1.5T Voltas Vertis Gold I for my 156sft bedroom.
Cost : I paid Rs.29, 500 for AC, 4KVA Realguard Stabilizer and installation all inclusive.
Installation : The AC was delivered and installed on the same day. I would give 5/5 for skill of the technicians. They did a good job, without messing up my wall. They nailed the outdoor unit onto the window shade.
Manual : I wonder how such a branded company can ignore the manual it provides. The English used in the manual is pathetic. I can hardly make out the sense what it meant to convey esp. the instructions for setting on/off timer.
Minor advice : Get the AC distribution box and stabilizer fitted lower and handy. Dont fit them beside the AC or as I did (see the pictures). Though I can operate them, my mom cant reach it to switch it off. Fix the Outdoor Unit of AC away from window, even if u need to pay extra for the wall brackets (Rs.600/pair). That way, u’ll be minimizing the noise from ODU.
