I went and watched the movie Vodka Diaries yesterday in a nearby theater. I wished to witness a spine-chilling thriller in the middle of a cold winter evening. However, I clearly ended up being extremely disappointed at the end of the movie.
First and foremost, the movie is all about a chain of horrible murders that actually never took place. I felt Kushal Srivastava on his debut movie as a director tried to recreate a Christopher Nolan. However, unfortunately, it never quite came close to the standards. Therefore, this two-hour long movie can give you a headache and may force you to look for that exit door or for that coffee break time and again.
Surprisingly, the movie began on a promising note with a breathtaking aerial shot covering Kay Kay Menon who ran through the snow-filled terrains of Manali. But that's the only bright point. After that, the movie just went down and down, and by the time it reaches the interval point, the audience will begin to feel that they have had enough of this movie. Clearly, too many subplots and threads have not helped it to move forward. The music was uninspiring as well. Even the performance of a talented actor like Kay Kay Menon appeared ordinary within this mess! So, I am not recommending this movie at all!
