Vivo launched its first phone in 2020; the Vivo S1 Pro. It flaunts a square or rather diamond-shaped rear camera module along with a 6.38-inch punch hole display. Vivo S1 Pro has an AMOLED display.

The Vivo S1 Pro employs Qualcomm’s 11nm Snapdragon 665 octa-core chipset, a choice that falls short of what other phones in the market are currently offering for the same price range.

Snapdragon 665 employs four custom Kryo 260 based on Cortex-A73 pointed at 2.0GHz, while the other four Kryo 260 based on Cortex-A53 clocks at 1.8GHz. There are better and much more powerful CPU’S employed compared to Snapdragon 665 as the structure of the octa-core CPU accumulated by Snapdragon 665 lacks in guarantying a smooth multi-tasking experience and enabling proper working of other heavy tasks. It faces lags along with overheating at the same time while indulging in intensive games for a longer period of time. High-end games are playable, however, the experience is strictly mediocre.

The 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor in the lead doesn’t help a lot and is kind of second rate compared to other popular quad-pixel sensors available. The camera performance is about average. Considering the price of the smartphone one would expect top-notch camera features and performance from it, however, Vivo S1 Pro fails to deliver the same.

Lastly, with everything on board, Vivo S1 Pro still lacks quite a bit on several fronts. The smartphone seems to be overpriced at Rs. 22, 997, the chipset is monotonous and the camera performance doesn’t place the smartphone in any competitive spectrum.
