Herbs are generally found in every household.They form an important part of our diet.They are used to garnish food or are mixed with gravy to make it more tasty or nutritious.They also protect us from infectious diseases.They are credited with the powers of healing.Though it gives relief to minor ailments without harmful side-effects they are in no way alternative to professional medical treatment and in emergiences.
Few herbs and their curative properties are mentioned below-
ASAFOETIDA(HING)

It is good for flatulence, whooping cough or asthama when mixed with water or honey and consumed.It is powdered and mixed with ghee and rice and given to women after childbirth.It helps in relieving toothache.
AJWAIN

It is very helpful for relieving flatulence and indigestion.Boil water and add a teaspoon of ajwain and boil for 5 mins.Inhaling the vapour gives relief for cold and migraine.
FENUGREEK(METHI SEEDS)

Helps in colic, dysentery, flatulence and diabetes.Diabetics can find relief by taking 2 teaspoonfuls of fenugreek seeds soaked in water first thing in the morning.
TURMERIC(HALDI)

It is an antiseptic.It can be applied on wounds.Turmeric and honey together increases iron in the blood.Asthama sufferer and people who have sore throat can get relief if they drink milk in which turmeric is mixed.
CARAWAY SEEDS(SHAH JEERA)

Drinking water in which caraway is added and boiled for 10 mins help in removing flatulence, stomach worms and bad breath.
GARLIC

ONION
